    You need a center. Bill Walton is the obvious choice with Dave Cowens backing him up.
    John Havlicek, Pete Maravich, and Bob Cousy are on the team too.

    This kinda reminds me of playing NBA live 95 and trying to put together the best white NBA team as a personal challenge Vlade Divac and Chris Mullen , and John Stockton always made the team.

    You didn't choose a center. Rick Barry should not be on this list. For the center position, it should be Bill Walton.

      When Walton was healthy he was great but how often was that? Walton is one of the top college players ever. Another video almost finished discusses Bill Walton. Dave Cowens had a better NBA career than Walton. Are you familiar with Barry? He was a M F er particularly in the 1974-1975 season. Wilt thought highly of Barry's game. I originally thought Barry was the best of the five but now I'm not so sure.

      @@ostrichman Rodman said Bird would have to play in Europe if he came along today. You have to appreciate that a player can be shunned by the mainstream sports media industry if he says things detracting from Bird's reputation. There's a reason Isiah Thomas backed off his original comments. Kenya Martin was being very cautious but I don't think Bird makes his list of the 15 greatest NBA players.

    I'll throw in the kNICKS Dave DeBusschere... in the late 60's into mid 70's Dave made All defensive team every year and was a deadly outside shooter that battled the toughest forwards maybe in NBA history and still averaged over 10 boards a game.

Now to answer your question since u made McHale your focal point, YES, I'd remove him for DeBusschere who was tougher, as good a rebounder and an OUTSIDE shooter, not a dunker /layup /garbage man (in a good sense) that McHale was.

    That's what's so great about living in America. Everyone has a right to their opinion no matter how racially biased or prejudice it sounds. You know what they say.... "Opinions are like assholes. Everybody's got one. I have to correct you on a fact check about you claiming Bird was drafted in 1979. As a matter of fact, he was drafted after the completion of his junior year at ISU, because the rules then were that a player only had to be 4 years passed his original time of collegiate enrollment. After signing with Bob Knight's Indiana Hoosiers, Larry dropped out after 28 days due to the size and lack of necessities a poor kid stricken with poverty could handle, so he went back home and collected a paycheck working as a trash collector for the city's street department. He didn't go to Boston to play in 1979 opting to return for his senior year at the smaller ISU with it being so close to home and he promised momma he would graduate. Magic will tell you himself that Larry deserved the rookie of the year over himself due to the NBA's biggest win/lose record turnaround for a franchise in league history. My personal opinion is that Bird wass a very good defensive player with his rebounding and superior basketball IQ having performed what I believe to be the single greatest defensive play of all-time with the legendary steal in game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals of 1987 against Detroit. Also I'd like to add that though Bernard King was a very good solid offensive threat, he couldn't tie Larry Birds shoes. Bird's easily a top 10 all-time NBA player at #7 on my list of greatest players in the history of the league.

    • @sportsactuary8574
      @sportsactuary8574  День назад

      Bird had success as a rookie but Magic won the title. Robert Parish, who is also on the NBA's 75 year team, was on Boston before Bird. Maybe the team had been greatly underperforming. I don't remember identifying the year Bird was a rookie but I know that Bird and Magic were eligible for rookie of the year in the same year. Please direct me to the video in which Magic says Bird deserved the award. I want to see a video from that time, not anything recent. They are friends now and Magic rarely takes the low road. Regarding Bird's defense, teams used to run plays for whomever Bird was guarding. If Bird's defensive skills were so great, why is it he never guarded the other team's top offensive threat, such as Wilkins, King, Worthy, Marcus Johnson, etc.? In the year that Bird won the MVP that should have gone to King, the NBA players voted King MVP. In any list of the greatest NBA players of all time voted on by the players that played against Bird or the Blk players, Bird will not place as high as he will on lists voted on by fans such as you or the media.
