Check out this video on our dedicated WuWa channel, Wuthering Radio: ruclips.net/video/T3xpTGSzcfs/видео.htmlsi=-ctb_WRif1OR5f3v ----------- You can find Kuro's official statement about feedback from the WuWa CBT here: twitter.com/Wuthering_Waves/status/1658774369265491971
@@ldante699 We actually read everything haha so that wasn't a problem. But we're definitely in favour of a skip button -- story isn't for everyone, and lots of people will make multiple accounts.
FOR REAL the PGR community was begging for WuWa to not be a genshin copy and seeing this beta is everything of a genshin copy was such a slap in the face. We need the devs to know we want more PGR and more Nier automata inspiration instead of this! I'm kinda scared it is too late for big changes like this...
I think they should just have fairly easy normal enemies in the open world while the endgame is easy and can be scaled to hard (by the players choice). As much as I hope for hard content, the game can't be completely hard or it will not do well in the long run.
@@Sssssss553 From a hardcore players perspective, that would be good. But in a casual players perspective, that would be bad. And casual players make the majority of people that play games. If kuro wants their game to pop off they can't just make WW hardcore. They have to make game modes that are supposed to be hardcore. Or they need to make ways that people can more easily kill things without as much skill. I just hope they can create a fine line between casual and hardcore like elden ring was able to.
@@Sssssss553 Hard difficulty enemies in open world wouldn't be an issue if they drop good stuff, but we know they wouldn't... Imagine fighting a difficult enemy to only get 1-3 common materials... And you need hundreds if not thousands of them to be useful... Game will be dead sooner than ToF...
this is how player progression in almost all gacha game, so they're not gonna change that, so it doesnt matter. maybe they'll change the UI, but thats it, they're not gonna bother with everything else
The problem is that they're taking too much inspired aspects from genshin, while having so little of their trait mark like in pgr. The limited 5 weapons system, models, gachas, etc. That's just so disappointing. I hope they snap out of it.
Especially when those things are widely known as the worst parts of genshin as well. PGR was so good that Kuro just needs to believe in their brand and aesthetic
Someone needs to take this video to the people at Kuro, it definitely touches on topics that if taken into consideration can actually improve the player experience.
It seems kuro have been copying a lot of genshin elements like their UI, the enhance materials for weapons/characters and gacha, hopefully they can improve those elements.
Problem with copying too closely to Genshin is that it becomes an inferior Genshin. Wuthering Waves 1.0 cannot compete with Genshin 3.7. Wuthering Waves need to be unique and different from Genshin
@@Mennion3 Indeed, the devs need to focus on at least 1 aspect they do better than genshin (like the combat) to make the game look like an unique alternative to genshin and not just a copy, otherwise it will be looked down as a genshin clone.
I notice that as well and to be honest I don't like that approach they're going for. But seeing how drastic the changes are for PGR's closed beta, I'm hopeful.
This is worrying… PGR took the good bits of Honkai while improving on the gacha and farming experience (and Honkai itself picked up on some of those improvements in return), but seeing this WW seems to inherit every horrible feature that makes Genshin needlessly tedious. Please, Kuro Game, if you’re gonna follow Mihoyo’s trends, at least follow the parts people _like_ and improve the rest.
having the characters wielding weapons for a while when running in combat will make it A LOT better than them having their weapons floating on their back
Exactly what I'm thinking. I really hope they dont rush and take their time since their work is phenomenal in PGR and I'm sure they will show the same effort in WuWa.
Gacha System felt like "if Genshin can do it we can do it too". I didn't buy it when they said "This is just a placeholder" when there are more generous models in the entire space, but they chose this. Open-world genre cost a lot more than PGR cage fight so it pushes developer to be less generous. but in reality, it's not possible to achieve the same good result when you are the second or third to the market. If you don't give a discount or something better (In term of gacha) customer will be less satisfied even if you sell the same things to them.
nailed it. HoYoYo relies heavily on free ad ( content creators, fan artists etc) and still invest a tonne in marketing, that's why they can afford to spit on customers, they make money anyway through ADs and third parties investments. Kuro does not have bilions coming in every month and did not invest in PR like Hoyo did. I hope Kuro will change course of actions on WuWa release, or they will be pulverised on the market.
They've already made discounts - better graphics, better and more mature character designs, better animations and gameplay. You can't have a better gacha system at the same time. WW is still a significant upgrade over Genshin.
One other thing I might add is that bosses can be stunned too easily (like three parry hits) and given the multiple parry comes in a chain attack it's really easy to stun them. Moreover, the bosses stun period is way too long. I've seen some people kill the boss in a single rotation cycle when they are stunned even though they were quite high level too.
the ui portion of the video was so well done and I was impressed you actually made a mock up menu that really works better than the betas. I will check more of your content now just do to the effort you put in to these videos, it is very appreciated
Thank you very much! UI is a tough nut to crack, but I couldn't help myself and kept thinking "This should really go here... or here..." and the next thing I knew I was throwing a mock up together haha. It's just a loose grasp, but we're really hoping that the UI sees some significant upgrades by the next release. 🌿
Take in considération in the first pgr bêta the gear and the gacha was a copy past of honkai 3. They test the formula of the most popular in the genre and see what point are fine and ones who s absolutely not to then devellope their own formula with this return. And like Rexlent said it the gacha have change many time. So absolutely don t take it at the final version but realy as a crash test. Same for the puzzle in the open world.
I am currently playing pgr, and I dropped 500 bucks to get a feel for the gacha, and it's a disaster for kuro, they will not make money like this, most people are leeches, and will not pay if they don't have to. I will keep spending in punishing Grey raven to support the company, but they should stop being too generous, mihoyo is a predatory company, but they are making all the money. Good guys finish last, they don't need to be like hoyoverse, but something in between
Don t judge kuro at the same way as mihoyo. Mihoyo lost all their passion for creating and develloped their game who s the exact opposite of kuro. I have made the calc if you want it to compare genshin and pgr gacha, the result was : - a character is 3 to 4 time cheaper in pgr - a weapon is 8 at 16 time cheaper to get in pgr than genshin. With this we can conclude that the one who manage the devs in mihoyo team more precisely genshin (not honkai 3 who s they re last game of passion and not money milker without passion one), are just useless as their job + the fact that mihoyo is one of the trashest in term of respect for their player (they see you as nothing than milking cow).
As someone who's been looking forward to this game since the first trailer..... I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS VIDEO? The feedback is ridiculously on point, I don't have much to add. Punishing: Gray Raven really spoiled us and I've got hope Wuthering Waves will do the same. Kuro Games already responding to feedback is also really on-brand and based.
They were only testing combat, world feel and sound design. In other words most of this feedback is already in the works so this video didn’t really give Kuro what they were asking for.
After playing genshinc for so long I've gotten used to this cruel gacha system but after experiencing PGR.. Man they really were just straight up torturing us in genshin, they for sure should work on the gacha system in WuWa. But again I'm looking forward to wuthering waves global release ^-^
PGR's gacha system only works there because it's not a casual game unlike genshin where characters from 1.0 is as useable today. Not the case with PGR. Plus, if they use PGR's gacha system then WW is doomed to fail because there's no money in that system. Why do you think kuro let Tencent own 14% of shares? Because they need 10cent money to develop WW. I wouldn't be surprised if it was 10cent pushing Kuro to copy genshin as much as possible to attract genshin players.
We have the same experience, Genshin is my first gacha. I was surprised by PGR when I played it. It's like night and day. That's why it's easier to spend in PGR than say a Hoyo game.
@@batperson3532 I have a funny Tencent anecdote, I tried using "______genshin" in my password for Tower of Fantasy on release and it wouldn't let me, I had to get creative and it worked, they actually blacklisted genshin. Really curious to see if it's going to happen again in WW. Ah... good old tencent, still mad that they couldn't buy/destroy mihoyo
@@batperson3532 plus WW is also going to face what Mihoyo do with Genshin: the budget. Making a open world game is more expensive than making a linear stage based game
My advice is not to expect much. Genshin as an example, when compared to HI3, is a heavy monster when it comes to resource scarcity. HI3 did a whole lot of improvements to the stamina system, farm cycles, gear acquisition, etc. (just like PGR) which we never saw in Genshin. Do not expect PGR levels of amicability in WW or you will be left disappointed. Genshin is the precedent of what can work, so expect WW to have similarities. I know it's a hard pill to swallow, but you really can't expect them to see something successful and not copy some of it's features. Before you lambaste me with insults because of how you love Kuro, do know that HI3 devs has the same amount of dedication as PGR devs in their game (I played both), so it's not far fetched for Kuro to try a similar approach with WW of what Hoyo does with Genshin. It's good to give feedback, sure, but don't keep your hopes unrealistically up.
I would like them to copy all good aspects of genshin , but by far I think I like the way WW is moving , I am sure they will fix improve all the negatives , honestly WW is the game what I wanted from Tower of Fantasy but ToF turned out to be money grabbing dps check game , lets hope WW does the same good job like they did with PGR
TBH wuthering waves will be a mix of genshin and a more hack and slash type combat system like in PGR and Honkai or even DMC5. The hack and slash genre type with open world has been proven to be successful and this is likely to gain high amounts of traction. My only hope is that it updates dont stay like 1 and a half years behind like in PGR
" My only hope is that it updates dont stay like 1 and a half years behind like in PGR" The game is releasing globally from the start this time, so that won’t happen. "I agree, it's best to not keep our hopes up that WW will be as generous as PGR." Yeah, but they should at least remove that stupid 50/50 feature… does _anyone_ like that in Genshin (or HSR for that matter)?
@@Lyendith there was one guy that said, "if we lost to something like 80/20, we would've been even angrier" And I agree. I hope it's a 100% like PGR though, but I don't think WW will have 100% banners.
I also heard a lot of other players saying the story is really bad, and after reading their explanation, I kinda understand how it got them so upset. So for the story, I do wish Kuro can improve it as well, just make it decent at the very least.
The story was unfinished (literally missing cutscenes) but we thought it had a good foundation. The localisation was bad so it was difficult-to-impossible to understand at times, but we know that won't be an issue in the final release. We were personally fans of the way the characters behaved towards Rover.
I think your number 5 is a little unjustified. While yes, having different animations for EVERY character can be nice it's also quite the work having to think about how to express them in their unique way with different animations + in PGR they are always holding their weapon so they would obviously run and stand differently based on the weapon they hold :v
Not really they do have different running animation. Example pulao And I really hope they hold the weapon or sheeting it in pocket instead of flowing in characters back
I agree. I want them to put more diversity in the models, but I also understand that they can't just do that easily. Why? Because it's an open world. The devs won't be just using their money to model characters. They're gonna spend on maps, voice acting, modeling, vfx, sfx, and a lot more. PGR is a totally different game than Genshin. When I say different, take it as if the only similarities are the art style. Gameplay is different, maps are different, character models are so different, the time intervals of players playing it are so different, the target audience differentiated with a fine line despite being close. The selling point of PGR is the combat feeling, and character diversity and depth in design. Genshin on the other hand, it's selling point is the interactive environment, co-op/multiplayer, wide exploration, a lot of freedom. So you can't really compare them, and say PGR has so much depth and diversity in their character modeling and design, why Genshin/WuWa can't do the same for modeling despite having bigger revenue. The same thing can be said with any argument regarding the character model diversity. Let's not expect WuWa to have a PGR alike model diversity, and design depth on each character. But then again, just because it's what people have grown with/realized to, doesn't mean WuWa should just settle with the same system of modeling and design as Genshin. If they can, then I wish they would be more PGR alike than Genshin alike. Then they would set their own name and stop being compared to Genshin. I really want WuWa to be called PGR but open world. And yet here we are, it's getting called Genshin but with more complex combat. Ever thought of PGR characters roaming in an open world? That's my ultimate dream for WuWa to be. It's just that it's not that easy. PGR model diversity and design depth with an open world exploration will be hard to maintain. Hence we get Genshin modeling and design similar systems.
@@hikarii53 this. honestly, despite wanting to see more of unique animation, I guess I don't mind if they keep the animation similar to same models. the solution they might able to do to solvr this is adding more model types instead
I mean if we get a lot of changes from Technical Test to CBT I can believe theres going to be a lot of changes in the full game This is Kuro, they can be dumb at times (Looking at how overtuned Abystigma, Hypereal, and Crimson Weave were) but theres no way they are THAT ignorant The only time they are ignorant is litteraly not giving Watanabe a place in the story lmao
Damn, Watanabe is my favorite character. I like the Forsakens in general as well as the purifying force. Hope they progress their arc. I hope Watanabe will get his S rank in the future, I'm still using his astral, I don't care if it's an Attacker, tank, or amplifier.
This is a great video and it demonstrated perfectly how to give constructive criticism. I really hope it garners more attention so that we can see these suggestions implemented.
Great video as always! Sucks the beta test were only available for NA peeps but this video gives me a lot of info. The part in 12:03 I can explain a little bit, but in general game developer really cares about player retention-- meaning they want you to come back and play the game again and again thus the retention of player playing your game. There are another demographic which I forgot but game dev cares more about Player Retention demographic as they will most likely be attached to the game (and then maybe cash out some money to the dev). The time gating features is one of many way to make you not burn out by the game in the beginning by intentionally making you unable to progress to the next step and having to wait for the day to come by, well because players retention is important hence they want to keep you even a single day more. But with that said, time gating sucks big time.
NGL I just started PGR (and really like it) and I got hyped for a new game to start from the beginning with, since i was late. The hearing about using genshin gacha is a huge slap in my face. I was in the process of thinking about shifting my wallet spending from star rail to PGR/Wuthering because i feel it's better spent there, this really is a damper.
Welcome to PGR! The good news is Kuro's official statement mentioned they intend to make changes to Modulation, which is the name of the gacha system. This CBT does not reflect the final version of Wuthering Waves. Who knows what the future will hold?
They've already made discounts - better graphics, better and more mature character designs, better animations and gameplay. You can't have a better gacha system with this at the same time. WW is still a significant upgrade over Genshin. In addition, what is much more important is how much premium currency can be received for events - and this is impossible to predict. But I think there will be enough currency to open a new 5 star hero once every 1.5 months, just like in Genshin. WW won't be able to jump their head and develop more heroes and give more currency. Everything has limitations, the heroes must be beautiful, voiced and have cool animations - this takes time and resources.
*Fantastic video.* I'm very glad when I see more creators talking about the current *progression model* of the game and how streamlining character, weapon, and skill leveling to be more like pgr/AAA arpgs improves the new and long term player experience rather than having constant gates like ascensions, day locks, weekly only drops, etc. A more "linear" level system can still take time, but as you discussed is much less frustrating for ALL players to deal with. This would allow players and more importantly Kuro to focus more on the depth of the echo system while reducing rng of echoes further. My hope is they make subs have set maxes/limits like pgr. For instance, at max echo level a crit dmg sub would always be 20% or maybe you could only get 50% total crit dmg from echoes. Replacing flat atk, flat hp, and flat def with more interactive world modifiers like movement speed, dodge distance, gadget recharge, stamina recovery, etc. Heck maybe even a skill toggle where a echo could either be a static 15% atk boost OR 20 hit combo = 20% atk for more experienced players like a more advanced version of Dragalia Lost's wyrmprint system/Nier plug in chips. More controlled stats should mean better/easier balancing for high end modes since all dedicated players could acquire optimized echo builds like pgr memories.
Girl on your number 3 suggestion such as access to the top menu. Well how about the android players, we don't have control button to open it, only on screen 😭
I suspect that from the developer's point of view, if they were to replace stamina-dependent echo farming with the one not requiring any stamina, they would rebalanced it to take similar amount of time to get about the same result. For example, add more flat stats to the sub stat pool, make individual sub stats have smaller values, with more sub stat rolls made during the leveling, that sort of thing. Who knows, if that would be seen as a good decision by the player base at large.
EVERYTHING you just proposed is what I hope the game will get and what could make it really good. Thanks for all the informations you gave us, wish the devs will ear you
People expecting Kuro to not do a genshin copy is not getting that Kuro is best when they copy an existing title and improve on it and hopefully thats what they do in WW. Hence HI3 to PGR and now Genshin to WW They also dont have the funding of Hoyo since hoyo snowballed from GGZ to HI3 to Genshin to HSR. While Kuro only has PGR on its belt at the moment and although im 100% sure that PGR is better than HI3, its not as profittable as HI3. Also im sure the gacha wont be the same as PGR, simply because the production cost of the two games are NOT the same, thus upkeep and further development (Patches) also needs different cost, new zones/new characters/animated cutscenes are all vastly gonna be more expensive in WW than in PGR. Im explaining this to you guys cuz it seems that most of PGR players expectations are way above reality and as a employee of an IT development team too i dont want you guys to Shit on Kuro if they fall short of those expectations. Also im 100% sure WW will be Kuro's gateway to success, because the big streamers (Genshin streamers) are already hyped about the game, when WW gets released the streamers and their viewers will hound this game because the combat is REALLY FUN and Kuro's great storytelling will for sure entice alot of Lore junkies too. Also spend more on my Daughter Nanamech's banner so Kuro gets more funds to make WW better.
yoooo. i love your comment. im playing pgr and hi3 and retired from genshin. i get that pgr players want more pgr and less of genshin for wuwa, but i honestly think it wouldnt be a terrible move if kuro goes for the middleground where they want to cater to casuals = more money = more popularity from streamers as you said, and still provide something for the more combat obsessed side like the pgr players. because more money means...better pgr gen 3 xD and who knows, pgr part 2. wouldnt it be funny if on wuwa's release, the minority hardcore side is disappointed because the bosses in wuwa arent as hard as in pgr, but the ones coming to wuwa blind have so much fun with it just for simply being not big G (and better in some aspects)
Haven’t watched a lot of CBT playthroughs but I really hope Kuro sees this and take it into consideration. Pretty good review. Still excited to play it myself when it finally launches
There's still a lot of room for improvement and they are doing amazing in it! I just think that trying to copy paste (although i understand you guys didn't say that exactly) PGR gacha system would not be very good since this type of game is very expensive to mantain. I don't agree with the 50/50 because it's too much frustrating and does not feel rewarding AT ALL, but they should try to find some balance between profit and player experience (mostly because I want the game to keep going). I believe that some of the features from PGR could be implemented and adjusted to WuWa's gacha style. They could let us pick the 4 star character from the 3 available in rate up to have an increased chance compared to the other 2 and the rest, have a starter pity on standard banner with a selectable character, and let us get our first copy of a 5 star character from limited banners on the first 90 pity, but then if you already got that character from that specific banner then the rates go down to 70/30. I'm not sure how reruns will work but i hope they make it like PGR as well.

PPL forget u getting a character is easier in pgr because making that character to ss or sss is harder and u need more copies than 6 if im correct to max while in genshin or wuwa the characters are pretty meta or good enough to beat with first copy
@@c1b06ayaansheik4 Yes. You could just take this red-haired girl, who will be 5*. Get her from the reroll for free and go through the whole game with her alone. The only thing is that it will be boring to play with the same character all the time. But from a gameplay point of view, you don't need a lot of characters. Other characters are needed to have more fun.
Probably the smartest video I have seen. Bravo. About the UI, the problem is made for mobile and probably the same engine/toolkit of GI and/or TOF. I prefer so far the PGR characters (more adult). Somebody can confirm ? Isn't possible to see others players in the same way than TOF (MMO ?) ? Gatcha of PGR best in the world. You should continue your serie on WW. Thank you for your job.
Took words out of my mouth, this is some good advice! hope Kuro's take notes from this video, I'd like to add a few things tho: -Sound Cue for when Enemeis does a parryable attacks: The Combat is smooth and fun but the smoothness could quickly fade away when you missed the barely noticeable Parry Icon, instead of only relying on your sense of sight they should add a sound cue to make it easier to parry with instinct, If you need an example, watch thrust attacks from sekiro, they both had an Icon and a loud sting sound to help the players differentiate it from normal attacks, they did this because Icons could easily be drowned by By other VFX in the game, especially in the middle of combat, where the camera often moves around makes it easy to miss. -More Traversal options: Instead of copying everything that genshin does, they should be a bit more creative add more ways to traverse the world, add wingsuits, hoverboard and such, the possibility are endless! yet they still copy things from genshin- I mean look at that glider! why do they change the glider model to mimic genshin? Iirc their earlier cbt has an umbrella that looks like a mini helicopter blade, that's a more unique look than what they have now, they gotta utilize more of that future dystopian setting to make something original. -Reactive/Interactive Enviroments: To be blunt and honest, currently the game still looks bland, dead and empty, even more so than Genshin's, the game kuro's trying to compete with, even if some areas look beautiful, It still feels shallow, as if looks the only thing it got, and then I realize that it's because of the lack of interactivity for the environments, In genshin it's less noticeable since you could interact with the environments through Elements reactions (Burning trees and grasses, making ice bridges, etc) In WW The grass doesn't react when you clearly burn them, the ice and fire attacks just clips through under water, it doesn't make gas evaporate nor froze nor other VFX, It's extremely disappointing considering the fact that they're working with Unreal Engine, the Most Visually and Technically advanced easy to use software (I can vouch for this as an avid user) Overall those are my major Complaint for the game, Outside of the smooth Combat System, everything else is quite disappointing, considering stuff like changing the unique stylish look of the Watch Menu UI In the earlier CBT to mimicking genshins with the current bland fade-ins menu, It seems like they trying to copy too many elements from Genshin without adding their own significant twist or unique mechanics, Since the game still feels like a carbon copy of genshin wearing a different skin, Which dangerous if kuro wants to compete with them, Because It's a sign of a lack of Identity/Originality, they have to offer something more, something new than the awesome combat System, Otherwise People have No reason to move from an already Similar and bigger game like Genshin.
they will make it better remember early chara in pgr we can say they are a bit simple but now, you even get the daughter of vergil with complex mechanic and stunning animation
@@agunkorea2995 she has separated ping which she can't use red and yellow ping in normal mode and cannot use blue ping in ultimate mode, she has a unique interaction with her signature CUB that can trigger a unique attack, she has 2 kinds of sword wave mode. there is more, i just haven't played her but have seen many videos about her
@@Ajaxsixand she has different ending attack for every 3 Ping People seem to have forgotten all the things that she can do because she eliminates all enemies very fast with just one move, but yes she has a lot of mechanics
for harder monsters, rather than just increasing their health , i suggest making their fighting pattern harder to read and that responds to what the player is doing . for instance, the Camu boss from pgr . If the player is just spamming their attack and abilities , Camu will do an aoe attack that will stun and push back the player creating room for him to attack. Also, items that can be used to level up is nice, although i wish that we could farm exp from killing monsters too ! maybe even do an exp sharing system like pokemon so we can keep that one character that we want to lvl up in the team but just isnt strong enough to be on the field now for the banner system , for 4 stars , like she said, the way you can pick which A-rank you want is very nice in pgr [ im really looking foward to this game , from what ive seen in pgr ]
Very nice and reasonable suggestions, i know kuro are tried their best to make this game not feel like a genshin clone but really beside a better combat, i don't feel it . I want to mention Tower of Fantasy, another game get compare to Genshin, i knows its a MMO still i would say at level of polishing they even worse than Pgr and WW But they have a lot more unique features and creative upgrade over genshin make the game may look same but feel way different then Genshin . I don't have that feels while playing WW test, its still feel like I'm playing Genshin with a better mod ....
The roadblocks on player progression like locking certain events or dungeons to certain days of the week is a common and very effective way to pace out content and keep players from hitting a plateau. As online games release upgradeable content (characters, weapons, gear, etc), the playerbase tends to get bored once they max them out. Once players hit a plateau, they desinvest, very often causing revenue to drop, making the game less commercially viable, which in turn threatens the game's continued existence as a title's discontinuation eventually leads its servers to shut down. You can argue that many players don't stop playing once the max out everything, which is true to **some player types**, not all and perhaps not even the majority. A clearly significant portion of the playerbase in games like these tends to be in it for the power progression. Ultimately, this admitelly very annoying mechanic can help ensure we keep playing some of our favorite games for many more years. The idea that players should get strictly what they came to the game for, such as by reducing the number of alternative currencies, is a classic no-no in game design. One of the things that are taught early on in Game Design and Production college class is that ''developers need to make sure players don't optimize the fun out of a game''. This often means making sure players have to jump through a few loops before they get what they want (such as, for example, dealing a few blows before they fill in their rage meter and unleash their favorite attacks) or gain access to tools that make the game easier. Granted, these things need to be done carefully so as not to frustrate players too much, but a slight, predictable and well-contained level of frustration is not only expected in games, but actually necessary. One of the core definitions of a gameplay experience across all games, both videogames or otherwise, is that ''playing a game is the voluntary attempt to overcome unnecessary obstacles''. Once again, though, the poison is in the dosage, so this discipline in game design is definitely an art of moderation.
Excellent video! I'm really excited for this game, but my biggest fear for it after viewing some of the CBT footage is that it's going to feel too much like Genshin Impact with a different coat of paint. I don't have a problem with open world games, but in the game's current state it does feel way too similar to GI. Thankfully the game is still in its beta phase, which gives me hope that a lot of the problems mentioned in this video will be changed or improved in the final release! I love PGR, it's my 2nd favorite gacha game besides Arknights. With how great PGR is, I have faith that Kuro is going to make this game live up to its full potential and give the game its own unique identity rather than modeling itself after Genshin.
I don't know if I'll be playing this game since I'm more dedicated to miHoYo, generally speaking, but I hope y'all get at least some of what you want. However, I'm sure it's hard for Kuro to look away from Genshin since that one makes billions of dollars every year. WuWa is a very ambitious project and they need all the money they can get to maintain it for years, so I wouldn't expect the gacha, at least, to change much. Again, it works perfectly fine in Genshin. Still, just because something works for a game, doesn't mean it will for another, so Kuro should ultimately just be adaptive. At least, they should definitely maximise what Genshin doesn't really focus on, which is the combat. And you can't have combat without characters, so there's that. Anyway, rooting for y'all. ^^
Genshin's Gacha does NOT "work fine". It's a horrendously greedy system, and the ONLY reason that it garners so much money is because Hoyoverse players are indoctrinated into it, and the Genshin community is so incredibly large that they're bound to make money hand over fist no matter what they do. New games from other developers, like Tower of Fantasy, have been proven to be completely ineffective at replicating that formula, because their systems end up being just as bad, or worse, in the pay to win aspect. Long story short, if Wuthering Waves wants to compete with Genshin and draw that kind of audience (because their target audience is largely similar, just trying to pull the more hardcore players), then they can't just copy the system: they need to be FAR more generous, if not completely deviating from that 50/50 dumpster fire. They already have a proven successful Gacha system in PGR, why the actual FUCK would they go out of their way to alienate their own playerbase by copying one of the most hated Gacha systems in the current market?!
@@evanprimeau3810 lol, pgr is not succesfull. They barely make enough money. With how much succesfull genshin, star rail, and lot of new cn game starting copied genshin system. Kuro not gonna have the balls to lower it. Also saying genshin gacha is the worst, you need to play those jp mobile & browser game.
@@evanprimeau3810 No, it works beautifully fine. For miHoYo, that is. That was my point. In fact, it's been working so well that Star Rail has the same system. Of course Kuro would at least try and do it the same way, since PGR's won't make enough money for how big WuWa might be. There's also no alternative example/model since Genshin is the only successful open-world gacha. I actually want them to come up with their own system, but I can't say it's unexpected that they went for what a profitable game already does. Many devs copy each other's good/successful ideas in order to make more money.
@@Ahriela You don’t understand the REASONS that Genshin is successful. It’s successful because of the timing that if came out in, and the fact that it was the first of its kind. ToF proved that just trying to make a “Genshin Killer” doesn’t work, and steadily fails over time, because a lot of the core audience of that Genre is tied up in Genshin, and will oftentimes only play other games as Side Games, rather than a game they’d spend their money on. Just a distraction until more Genshin content comes out.
@@evanprimeau3810 Oh, I understand very well why Genshin is successful. It's because it's a damn good game. Specifically, the character design is what incentivises people to engage with the gacha, which is actually true for all successful gacha games. You keep bringing up ToF as if it's actually relevant to the discussion, but it's really not. That piece of shit is an MMO. WuWa is the only game you can compare in a 1:1 manner with Genshin. Besides, ToF is a failure for multiple reasons, not just the gacha, reasons that have never existed in Genshin and don't exist in WuWa. Lastly, you're talking to me as if I work at Kuro or something. I'm just speculating what the execs were thinking during WuWa's development. Don't try to convince me about a change in gacha systems. I already said they should probably come up with their own instead of copying what's already there. Convince Kuro instead. Although, you might not be very successful as money needs to be made.
Great video. You made veey good points. I think its ok to take inspiration from Genshin but i wouldnt want another Genshin. I want Wuthering Waves to stand out in its own unique ways. I want this game to win!
im glad that there's this relationship within WW community where players really like to give that feedback and kuro games actually respond. Cause in other games, namely genshin lmao, there's this like mentality that if u give feedback it's negativity. Like im seeing a lot of feedback tweets and yt vids where they say both the strong and weak points of the game so that kuro knows where they need to work on also i think the biggest issue is that they're trying way too hard to be kinda like genshin, when it should be like the best of both worlds being genshin and pgr i feel it should have elements from genshin but the same/similar systems to pgr progression also really well done vid good job :)
I really want it to be different and unique compared to GI cos I'm already burn out with GI (AR60) The RNG and the combats really tire and bore me at this point I wish WW would be better
@@keynyeu bro i completely agree. Genshin is in a rough spot and it's crazy to me how it's still played as much as it is. WW really needs to find it's own identity and hopefully that'll give genshin enough competition to experiment with their systems. I'm curious tho are u still playing genshin or did u drop it? Cause for me, i still keep up to date with genshin just cause of the time i spent with the game lmao but a bit after sumeru came out, i quit the game cause the daily grind was really taking a toll on me. Felt like a chore.

@@keynyeu lmao fair enough. Just a recommendation, maybe/maybe not might work for u but just take a break from the game. The issue is like i dunno if i speak for myself or players like us but we kinda like the game too much lmao so we stick with the game no matter what. Maybe like just stop playing for a while and let the story kinda build up and then return when you're ready (maybe when like fontaine drops or somethin). Cause i was incredibly burnt out from the game but it took me a while to just drop the game but when i did, i felt much better. I think hoyo will forever keep genshin as a casual game just cause the casual audience is so big and u have cocksuckers wont give any criticism to hoyoverse lmao. Maybe competition might make em change things up but till then i reckon the game is gonna be for story and if u wanna enjoy it for story then maybe just let it build up but yh that's kinda my 2 cents :)
I spend $200 on PGR per version, it gets me the battle pass, the 3 monthly passes, SS feature character (SSS if un), the signature weapon and an EFX coating. I spend on this game because I know that I'm gonna get what I want, but if WuWa's gacha is like genshin's with the 50/50 and horrible rng for 4* I'm just gonna get the battle pass.
Actually that's a point I haven't really thought about. If I think about it I know how consistent and reliable PGR's currency->content ratio is, but I guess I take it for granted that you know at pity you're getting exactly what you want (minus the 80/20 for weapons banner). Plus all of the daily rewards in the passes and value of the battlepass with vouchers. If I wanted to spend in say, star rail, I'm really gambling that if cashed that 100-200 bucks I'm even going to get the character or weapon I want. But with PGR whenever I've spent money I can plan around the confirmation that I'll get it.
@@PouringRain0 "you're getting exactly what you want" why did i get a 6* weapon on the Event character banner then? Isn't it supposed to have a 100% guaranteed droprate? Where's my event character? Rethorical questions, is a gacha, is a scam like any other gacha. What mitigates it in PGR ( contrary of Genshin) is the option of farming the characters one fragment at the time and some uns are unlockable by playing.
@@RejectedInch idk if we are playing the same game but there is no way u can get 6* weapon on a themed character banner. Yes, of course themed banner always has 100% rate up for that certain character. The only exception is weapon banner which has 80/20, although i have only lost it once ever since I started playing. So you might wanna check if you pulled the right banner or no.
I think the main takeaway from this video is for Kuro to implement the things that they are good at and have proven successful in doing so in PGR into a model in WW where they will be able to make a profit but at the same time keep us, the consumers satisfied. PGR already has plenty of things going for it which makes it unique which I'm hoping they would apply but modified to an open world game instead of just trying to "copy"Genshin.
Let's be honest lol. PGR Gacha system is too nice and don't actually bring much. People seems to forget but it's the whale that keeps a game a Gacha alive. Pretty sure the investment and Level of ressources necessary to create WW are N time larger than PGR so expecting a nice Gacha system like PGR in WW is dreaming. Company aren't our friends. They want money and no matter how many people complain, the 50/50 system of Genshin have proven to work so I really doubt they will take that away
@@hikarugenji1737 cool but like the video said when the gacha is ez to manage small spender/whaler are much more confident to spend because they know what would they get. Also more inviting for more potential spender too
@@HowAreYou2 and I believe the opposite. PGR is the undeniable proof that actually doesn't work. How many whale does PGR have and how much do they spend? Do you know what truly bring money in Genshin? It isn't the character itself. It's the constellations and the weapon refinement. The reality have shown that any games who is too generous to "please" low spender and F2P will never make much money. Meanwhile it's those that people complain about being too harsh that ironically make money. Another thing is that Ironically what makes Genshin Gacha popular is the existence of 50/50. The ability to flex that I didn't lose my 50/50 play on the gambler mentality and make spender even more willing to spend. FGO is another example. The game has perhaps one of the worst Gacha rate and there is no pity but as far as I know it's one of the most rentables mobile game ever and it's isn't even in 3D. So yeah. For WW, there is no way in hell they are going to use PGR system as it would be the stupidest thing to do. Whales don't whale if it's easy to get. Whale do so because they like the feeling of getting something other can never hope they can get
lmao at the ending. I remember playing the closed beta and i was extremely critical about the game's systems but praised the game's combat. After the closed beta ended I was like "aite, they'll probably address a couple of things"... then they tweeted re: closed beta feedback and it basically read "we're gonna fix everything you guys have asked for". Mad respect, I hope they go back to the kitchen and Wuthering Waves comes out a banger.
@@YaeGuuji The gacha system isn't really a problem, just look at Genshin and Honkai SR, they get away with that just fine. The thing is, if you're going to make a gacha system that's super expensive and super greedy, make sure the game is worth our money, make sure the quality is up there. Genshin didn't just survive, it thrived because of that. Did you ever wonder why shitty gacha games have generous rates and give you free pulls for any reason? That's because they know the game itself isn't good enough to retain players. Genshin does the exact opposite. So if WW copies Genshin's gacha system, they MUST work hard on the game itself Also I hope it doesn't follow ToF route: powercreep and most weapons are unusable at C0
and maybe a little small chat between characters in our team when we exploring world its gonna be so wholesome, just small confersation that's gonna make this game more alive
"current version of pgr menu design is actually pretty good" My brain dead ass, which was constantly getting lost in PGR menus until not being able to handle that and dropping the game: 😭
Once u said ‘kuro games’ immediately made the connection to PGR, now that I play that too.. and graphically and action-animation wise it both looks really impressive while also having clear, distinctive relationship with PGR action style, just open world.. and that makes me excited for its release However, when u got to the critique about the currency and gacha-resource style collection; yea, the most intimidating and aggravating part of any gacha is how they drop tons of resources at u and u have to spend tons of times figuring out how to then min/max where to collect more, what goes with what and spearing them .. like in PGR, between getting over clock materials, black cards, common r&d cards, cogs, memories, shards etc.. as someone just only been playing for an hour it’s like ‘whaaAaaaatt’
I haven't played the beta so i can't rly say anything about 5 and 4. In the case of 2, i don't mind the million currencies that you need to farm, i kind of like the struggle for resources, but i 100% agree with 3 and 1, the menu looks overwhelming and the genshin gacha system is a pain in the ass, especially if you're trying to get a 4 star that might never drop.
CBT2 begins in just a few days! We'll be covering whether it's changed for the better on our other channel, Wuthering Radio ✨ So far what they've revealed looks promising, though!
Aether Gazer just came out like 2 3 days ago and its Gacha system is a bit of a sigh of relief since you're not pressured by the fact you have to have enough currency to pull 90 times if ever your rng is bad. The game only requires you to pull 70 times which feels so much better than the 90 imo XD
Tried it as well and I'm having fun, but the problem is, it's still 50%. Even at higher rates, nothing will beat a 100% guarantee. I'll try it for some more but I still truly prefer PGR more in general. From the art direction and combat, to the monetization. They did great with the voiced and animated story presentation though. It's miles better than just reading in PGR.
Also UI scaling ccould be an option, since some people like to see more stuff on screen even tho its small and some people need bigger UI to read texts and auto hide UI element, you can choose which ui element that will dissapear after few seconds, or even hide some UI element, like character switch icon, since if you play for sometimes you'll get use to which character on which number(basically muscle memory build)
I could see echoes being like this: Terminal still has a level up system but it’s based on how many different type of echoes you have. As you level up terminal you get access to new echoes that couldn’t be previously obtained. Echo recycle is a really good concept as it would allow hardcore players to farm those duplicates I would say personally you can only level up an echo with a duplicate echoes recycle materials that way so there is a consistent grind and maybe make it where if you recycle you have a chance for 1.2x 1.5x and 2.0x reward drops from the recycle.
Maybe its just me but i like their HUD, i also played a lot of genshin so maybe its more comfortable to me that someone discovering a new gacha with this HUD. Great video tho thanks for your content ! i started pgr recently and your guides helped me a lot :)
While movement is fine, we really don't need the glider imo, what even is it for? Instead, they should make use of the Echoes, make certain types of Echoes have in combat and outside of combat abilities, the bird for example, what stops them from just, you know, fly?
On number 3, this is the first time I've ever seen the memory loadout system used (i don't switch memories around much that might be why) but how do I access it?
1. Go to any Character page 2. Click on one of their equipped memories. This will take you to their equipped memory page. 3. Click the button on the top right that says "Memory Set" 4. Here you can register the currently equipped set! 5. Make sure to give it a name, click "Confirm" and THEN CLICK "SAVE" The "Basic set" is accessible to all characters, and the "Exclusive set" is a set only for the character you are currently looking at. So, for example, I have a QTE-Bot-Heals set and a Strong-Heals set for my support members. Usually I use the QTE set, but if I am playing co-op I use my Strong-Heals set. This is also helpful for new and F2P players who may not have enough resources to give every character a dedicated set, so they can quickly move their memories around. Hope this helps!
Well they can't just put a gacha system like pgr on wuthering waves due to the ww development cost. And the only other gacha game similar to ww on the market is genshin, so they better put a gacha system similar to what they already have on the market and adjust it with feedback so that it doesn't devalue it while making it more acceptable to the public. I think that's the strategy, if it was a feature that was going to be in the final version anyway, they didn't need to put this in the FIRST BETA, just do it like the HRS and put in the final beta only
@@whatamess8894 not just talking about the gacha, but I fundamentally disagree that the only way to make money is to be scummy and stingy, I mean the fact that the gameplay, exploration and account progression is basically identical to genshin
@@24spencerify the gameplay in action is different from genshin, the similarity is the UI and the progression and these things can easily change in the future, they just need to find their own rhythm. In the tech test there were artifact systems, but they found their own way to exploit that with the echos in the beta. Remember this is a beta, many things will not be like this in the final version
I'm a huge fan of PGR and totally agree with everything you said about the gacha system. I just can't stand the fact that every new game like this tries to be the next Genshin. I played Genshin for 3 years before realizing how bad and designed-for-addiction-and-whales their gacha system is (which is just stupid of me). When I completely quit the game, and tried other games like PGR, I felt like I've been duped. So, please Kuro, don't be the next genshin, let us play for your story, and the game than the characters. Please make it more PGR. By the way, you just earned new sub. Like the video so far.
The l hoyo fans coming here and hating on kuro games are pathetic. Regardless of how you feel on the game we arent about to act like kuro isnt a good company that can make some really good shit (PGR
Damn, the pull rates in Wuthering Waves are as bad as in MHY games, I hope they implement a similar system as in PGR, it's one of the most user friendly gacha systems I have encountered.
I hope they don't copy both PGR and Genshin's Gacha System. If they add PGR's gacha system, the game will just get low profits because of how F2P it is and might die. Wuthering Waves should get a high amount of revenue to survive since this game got the most funding, unlike PGR. But just because they need high revenue, I don't think it's necessary for them to copy Genshin's Gacha System, so I hope they change this.
I have faith in Kuro i'm sure they will fix the Genshin factor in WW, but another thing that wasn't mentioned in the video was that the running animations look stiff, and when turning the character tilts so much, but as said in the video if they were to make different animations for each character it would be smoother
The map seems big for development at this stage and its so beautiful love the movement on the world it seems effortless (this game seems dangerous for genshin 🤣) man I'm excited for this I can already tell I'm going to be invested 😍
@@meagodgod6373 well you can laugh all u want if it doesn't, I love genshin and played from release so it won't bother me much, plus each person prefer something different from others I may find this game more fun without looking at the revenues and u find genshin more fun than this so other ppls opinions won't matter to me nor will it matter to you.
I have a idea for exploration of chest instead of this they have like post apocalyptic type of exploration means when open the chest we get reward instead of this we get some valuable materials by finding them like chest and after some people buy them and give us reward based on rarity this type of thing is more suited for post apocalyptic world because they had already loss of resources if my idea is good then please look out
This has been very insightful as a person who has been looking at the beta test without all the technical knowledge on game design lol. I really hope they dont try to imitate a lot of what genshin does in release because the more similar they are the more you'll feel like you're playing the same game and I don't think people would like to play 2 genshins, WW already has an extremely solid foundation on their Identity anyways, they just need to capitalize on that.
Genshin being my favourite, first and only gacha game i have ever played, your suggestions for the game seem so impropable and way too good to be true, i feel like hoyo set my bar to low xD
Improbable? Not really, it's actually more probable since she's talking about things that are quite easy to altersuch as the UI, or the walking and running animations like what they didin PGR. Even the gacha is easy to change. Same with the exploration mechanic and random difficult mobs. I play Genshin and other gachas, trust me, Genshin is far from the alpha and omega of gachas. What it did is to set the standard for future gachas but that's it. It suffers from so many problems and the only reason they don't change is they don't listen.
when i first started playing, i got the ick cus i swore they sounded like they were using AI for the english VA. Ive gotten used to it atp but sometimes the dialogue feels so robotic.

I think adding both easy and hard enemies in the over world is a good idea. Having scaling enemy difficulty is annoying is if you’re just exploring.
Yeah, I get the scaling but I don't feel any stronger... once I get stronger
I think they should just have fairly easy normal enemies in the open world while the endgame is easy and can be scaled to hard (by the players choice). As much as I hope for hard content, the game can't be completely hard or it will not do well in the long run.
No it batter for enemies to be hard

It seems kuro have been copying a lot of genshin elements like their UI, the enhance materials for weapons/characters and gacha, hopefully they can improve those elements.
Problem with copying too closely to Genshin is that it becomes an inferior Genshin. Wuthering Waves 1.0 cannot compete with Genshin 3.7. Wuthering Waves need to be unique and different from Genshin

This is something that gacha gamers won't admit its true cause the truth sucks

Agree with you 🤝
True... Once the boss is staggered, they basically just take a nap lmao
the ui portion of the video was so well done and I was impressed you actually made a mock up menu that really works better than the betas.
I really hope they rework the gacha system to be similar or even identical to PGR.
One can dream
Good guys finish last, they don't need to be like hoyoverse, but something in between
@@midwestairway that why the skins exist. They still make enouth money to constantly develloped and innovate at each patch.
Don t judge kuro at the same way as mihoyo. Mihoyo lost all their passion for creating and develloped their game who s the exact opposite of kuro.
I have made the calc if you want it to compare genshin and pgr gacha, the result was :
- a character is 3 to 4 time cheaper in pgr
- a weapon is 8 at 16 time cheaper to get in pgr than genshin.

@@batperson3532PGR old characters get buffed lmao
I agree, it's best to not keep our hopes up that WW will be as generous as PGR.
" My only hope is that it updates dont stay like 1 and a half years behind like in PGR"
The game is releasing globally from the start this time, so that won’t happen.
"I agree, it's best to not keep our hopes up that WW will be as generous as PGR."
Yeah, but they should at least remove that stupid 50/50 feature… does _anyone_ like that in Genshin (or HSR for that matter)?
@@Lyendith there was one guy that said, "if we lost to something like 80/20, we would've been even angrier" And I agree. I hope it's a 100% like PGR though, but I don't think WW will have 100% banners.
I also heard a lot of other players saying the story is really bad, and after reading their explanation, I kinda understand how it got them so upset.
So for the story, I do wish Kuro can improve it as well, just make it decent at the very least.
Haha. Imagine the ww synopsis is story rich focused but the story is bad 💀
The story was unfinished (literally missing cutscenes) but we thought it had a good foundation. The localisation was bad so it was difficult-to-impossible to understand at times, but we know that won't be an issue in the final release. We were personally fans of the way the characters behaved towards Rover.
Yooooo, Wuthering Waves released a "CBT test review" and they plan to fix every issue you pointed out 👏😮
WE NEED MORE. MORE CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM, THE BETTER WW OFFICIAL RELEASE.
I think your number 5 is a little unjustified. While yes, having different animations for EVERY character can be nice it's also quite the work having to think about how to express them in their unique way with different animations + in PGR they are always holding their weapon so they would obviously run and stand differently based on the weapon they hold :v
i agree
Not really they do have different running animation. Example pulao
And I really hope they hold the weapon or sheeting it in pocket instead of flowing in characters back
@@Koyo1255 this is one of the details that i was uncomfortable with. the weapon in the back !
Crazy conteeent, there's so much put into this work. Subbed
Thank you!! ❤
I mean if we get a lot of changes from Technical Test to CBT
I can believe theres going to be a lot of changes in the full game
This is Kuro, they can be dumb at times (Looking at how overtuned Abystigma, Hypereal, and Crimson Weave were) but theres no way they are THAT ignorant
The only time they are ignorant is litteraly not giving Watanabe a place in the story lmao
Yeah about that ,that is like old corroded wound for Watanabe enjoyers.-_-. 3yrs into game in CN and no Watanabe S rank.
Damn, Watanabe is my favorite character. I like the Forsakens in general as well as the purifying force. Hope they progress their arc.
I hope Watanabe will get his S rank in the future, I'm still using his astral, I don't care if it's an Attacker, tank, or amplifier.
@@hijodelsoldeoriente samee, I still use Astral for dark warzone and ppc.
U guys have luna?
@@VR-F yes, we have !
This is a great video and it demonstrated perfectly how to give constructive criticism. I really hope it garners more attention so that we can see these suggestions implemented.
I think it would be cool if they added a desert area with parts of it turned into glass in interesting and unique ways.
Okay this really on point, most positive feedback that I've ever seen so far. I hope kuro will watch this
Great video as always!
Same
They've already made discounts - better graphics, better and more mature character designs, better animations and gameplay.
Thank you for the unbiased and good criticism. Just subbed
Welcome aboard, thanks for the sub!
*Fantastic video.*
I'm very glad when I see more creators talking about the current *progression model* of the game and how streamlining character, weapon, and skill leveling to be more like pgr/AAA arpgs improves the new and long term player experience rather than having constant gates like ascensions, day locks, weekly only drops, etc.
Condolence for Ivy
Hope you can get Taoqi in the next CBT
Girl on your number 3 suggestion such as access to the top menu. Well how about the android players, we don't have control button to open it, only on screen 😭
Thingamabob got me laughing to death. Your review was amazing! I hope Kuro watches it and takes notes
This is such an insightful video and agree 100% with all of these such great changes and I have nothing but hope!!
Who knows, if that would be seen as a good decision by the player base at large.
how can you forget skip dialogue button
if u guys can get a video of what r the best features and should stay or improve a bit so that kuro wont go over the top with changing stuffs
agree
EVERYTHING you just proposed is what I hope the game will get and what could make it really good. Thanks for all the informations you gave us, wish the devs will ear you
People expecting Kuro to not do a genshin copy is not getting that Kuro is best when they copy an existing title and improve on it and hopefully thats what they do in WW.
Hence HI3 to PGR
and now Genshin to WW
They also dont have the funding of Hoyo since hoyo snowballed from GGZ to HI3 to Genshin to HSR.
They've already made discounts - better graphics, better and more mature character designs, better animations and gameplay. You can't have a better gacha system with this at the same time. WW is still a significant upgrade over Genshin. In addition, what is much more important is how much premium currency can be received for events - and this is impossible to predict.
But they did many good things for example I love that running doesn't take stamina
Yes, we loved that too! Movement felt amazing in this game.
Amazing video and great points you brought up. I hope these changes make it into the final game
Couldnt have said any of this better myself, especially with the 200 character limit in the feedback form 💀
Took words out of my mouth, this is some good advice! hope Kuro's take notes from this video, I'd like to add a few things tho:
-Sound Cue for when Enemeis does a parryable attacks:
The Combat is smooth and fun but the smoothness could quickly fade away when you missed the barely noticeable Parry Icon, instead of only relying on your sense of sight they should add a sound cue to make it easier to parry with instinct, If you need an example, watch thrust attacks from sekiro, they both had an Icon and a loud sting sound to help the players differentiate it from normal attacks, they did this because Icons could easily be drowned by By other VFX in the game, especially in the middle of combat, where the camera often moves around makes it easy to miss.
-More Traversal options:
Instead of copying everything that genshin does, they should be a bit more creative add more ways to traverse the world, add wingsuits, hoverboard and such, the possibility are endless! yet they still copy things from genshin- I mean look at that glider! why do they change the glider model to mimic genshin? Iirc their earlier cbt has an umbrella that looks like a mini helicopter blade, that's a more unique look than what they have now, they gotta utilize more of that future dystopian setting to make something original.
-Reactive/Interactive Enviroments:
To be blunt and honest, currently the game still looks bland, dead and empty, even more so than Genshin's, the game kuro's trying to compete with, even if some areas look beautiful, It still feels shallow, as if looks the only thing it got, and then I realize that it's because of the lack of interactivity for the environments, In genshin it's less noticeable since you could interact with the environments through Elements reactions (Burning trees and grasses, making ice bridges, etc) In WW The grass doesn't react when you clearly burn them, the ice and fire attacks just clips through under water, it doesn't make gas evaporate nor froze nor other VFX, It's extremely disappointing considering the fact that they're working with Unreal Engine, the Most Visually and Technically advanced easy to use software (I can vouch for this as an avid user)
Overall those are my major Complaint for the game, Outside of the smooth Combat System, everything else is quite disappointing, considering stuff like changing the unique stylish look of the Watch Menu UI In the earlier CBT to mimicking genshins with the current bland fade-ins menu, It seems like they trying to copy too many elements from Genshin without adding their own significant twist or unique mechanics, Since the game still feels like a carbon copy of genshin wearing a different skin, Which dangerous if kuro wants to compete with them, Because It's a sign of a lack of Identity/Originality, they have to offer something more, something new than the awesome combat System, Otherwise People have No reason to move from an already Similar and bigger game like Genshin.
they will make it better
remember early chara in pgr
we can say they are a bit simple but now, you even get the daughter of vergil with complex mechanic and stunning animation
Alpha CW? What complex about her? Just hold evade, ult, hold atk repeat
@@agunkorea2995 she has separated ping which she can't use red and yellow ping in normal mode and cannot use blue ping in ultimate mode, she has a unique interaction with her signature CUB that can trigger a unique attack, she has 2 kinds of sword wave mode. there is more, i just haven't played her but have seen many videos about her
@@Ajaxsixand she has different ending attack for every 3 Ping
People seem to have forgotten all the things that she can do because she eliminates all enemies very fast with just one move, but yes she has a lot of mechanics
for harder monsters, rather than just increasing their health , i suggest making their fighting pattern harder to read and that responds to what the player is doing . for instance, the Camu boss from pgr . If the player is just spamming their attack and abilities , Camu will do an aoe attack that will stun and push back the player creating room for him to attack.
Also, items that can be used to level up is nice, although i wish that we could farm exp from killing monsters too ! maybe even do an exp sharing system like pokemon so we can keep that one character that we want to lvl up in the team but just isnt strong enough to be on the field
now for the banner system , for 4 stars , like she said, the way you can pick which A-rank you want is very nice in pgr
[ im really looking foward to this game , from what ive seen in pgr ]
I have an idea for the QTE thing. So wha if in co-op when we do qte it's our character that teleport and do QTE for our teammate.
I love you guys so much. We had so much feedback on si many platform but a well thought-out and interesting video like this is a first (for me).
Like im seeing a lot of feedback tweets and yt vids where they say both the strong and weak points of the game so that kuro knows where they need to work on
also i think the biggest issue is that they're trying way too hard to be kinda like genshin, when it should be like the best of both worlds being genshin and pgr
i feel it should have elements from genshin but the same/similar systems to pgr progression
also really well done vid good job :)
I really want it to be different and unique compared to GI cos I'm already burn out with GI (AR60)
The RNG and the combats really tire and bore me at this point

@@keynyeu bro i completely agree. Genshin is in a rough spot and it's crazy to me how it's still played as much as it is. Maybe like just stop playing for a while and let the story kinda build up and then return when you're ready (maybe when like fontaine drops or somethin).
@@RejectedInch wtf are you talking about? How the hell did you get 6* weapon in character banner unless you're high or pulled it out of your butt
Would love to see a follow up video!
I hope Kuro Games watches this video, especially for the gacha and leveling up systems
Never heard of wuthering waves before, but your criticism was so constructive that i had to subscribe 😊
It also needs to be even more punishing for brainded unga bunga
Whale do so because they like the feeling of getting something other can never hope they can get
@@hikarugenji1737 goodluck for wuwa then
lmao at the ending. Mad respect, I hope they go back to the kitchen and Wuthering Waves comes out a banger.
yeah. But dont expect they remove 50\50 system
I have faith in kuro
If they dont do it , then lose the hope of having good development team in the gaming industry
So if WW copies Genshin's gacha system, they MUST work hard on the game itself
Also I hope it doesn't follow ToF route: powercreep and most weapons are unusable at C0
Kuro please listen this video, this video is no joke, this really gonna make your WW improve significanly.
BTW can we tag Kuro ?
and maybe a little small chat between characters in our team when we exploring world its gonna be so wholesome, just small confersation that's gonna make this game more alive
"current version of pgr menu design is actually pretty good"
My brain dead ass, which was constantly getting lost in PGR menus until not being able to handle that and dropping the game: 😭
I heard some new playes saying the same. I don't think it's that complicated, but I'd not mind being more streamlined.
Once u said ‘kuro games’ immediately made the connection to PGR, now that I play that too.. and graphically and action-animation wise it both looks really impressive while also having clear, distinctive relationship with PGR action style, just open world.. and that makes me excited for its release
However, when u got to the critique about the currency and gacha-resource style collection; yea, the most intimidating and aggravating part of any gacha is how they drop tons of resources at u and u have to spend tons of times figuring out how to then min/max where to collect more, what goes with what and spearing them .. like in PGR, between getting over clock materials, black cards, common r&d cards, cogs, memories, shards etc.. as someone just only been playing for an hour it’s like ‘whaaAaaaatt’
I'M SO EXCITEDDDDDSJJSJAJAS THANKS FOR THIS VIDEO! HYPED ME UP
8:30 😂😂😂omg
Whoever played this beta is a legend for sure
I've see videos of that beta. It was pretty different. lol
have these things been improved on? /gen
Also UI scaling ccould be an option, since some people like to see more stuff on screen even tho its small and some people need bigger UI to read texts
and auto hide UI element, you can choose which ui element that will dissapear after few seconds, or even hide some UI element, like character switch icon, since if you play for sometimes you'll get use to which character on which number(basically muscle memory build)
I heard people said it was a genshin clone 😂now im convinced
How surprising. Back than these people are so hard saying its not. No wonder this game got roasted by cn player.
Can't wait for star rail clones
Kuro now trying to make a star rail clone
Welcome to PGR! Thank you so much for your lovely words ❤
While movement is fine, we really don't need the glider imo, what even is it for? Instead, they should make use of the Echoes, make certain types of Echoes have in combat and outside of combat abilities, the bird for example, what stops them from just, you know, fly?
The less Genshin similar and the more PGR similar become, better to me. At least many of thing said we already have on our PGR
I come from the future: They did time to rename the tittle 🤣
Changing the gacha system will be a big advantage over Genshin. Stop with the 50/50 BS.
70/30 bare minimum
On number 3, this is the first time I've ever seen the memory loadout system used (i don't switch memories around much that might be why) but how do I access it?
1. Go to any Character page
2. Click on one of their equipped memories. This will take you to their equipped memory page.
3. Click the button on the top right that says "Memory Set"
4. Here you can register the currently equipped set!
5. Make sure to give it a name, click "Confirm" and THEN CLICK "SAVE"
The "Basic set" is accessible to all characters, and the "Exclusive set" is a set only for the character you are currently looking at.
@@GrayRavenRadio Thank you!!
I'm not sure what kuro's train of thought was with these systems, if i wanted to play genshin i would just play genshin...
@@whatamess8894 one thing they will not change is the gacha. Genshin model works and will earn them money.
@@p-se9yf they alredy said they will :)
omg i can’t wait to try this out when it comes out, finger crossed kuro will listen all of us!
Shhh, don't tell Kuro the secret wallet-opening strategy of "offering guarantees sometimes".
My only complaint is the gacha. Pleaseee make it more generous kuro 🙏🏻 Just make it like pgr it's perfect.
Everything has limitations, the heroes must be beautiful, voiced and have cool animations - this takes time and resources.
i noticed that a lot of games like these miss the search option when there's a ton of items/materials/characters/weapons/artifacts
The l hoyo fans coming here and hating on kuro games are pathetic. Regardless of how you feel on the game we arent about to act like kuro isnt a good company that can make some really good shit (PGR
I hate when games scale your enemy level to your level. The sense of getting stronger is not there.
@@YaeGuuji yeah

I have faith in Kuro i'm sure they will fix the Genshin factor in WW, but another thing that wasn't mentioned in the video was that the running animations look stiff, and when turning the character tilts so much, but as said in the video if they were to make different animations for each character it would be smoother
The map seems big for development at this stage and its so beautiful love the movement on the world it seems effortless (this game seems dangerous for genshin 🤣) man I'm excited for this I can already tell I'm going to be invested 😍

I have a idea for exploration of chest instead of this they have like post apocalyptic type of exploration means when open the chest we get reward instead of this we get some valuable materials by finding them like chest and after some people buy them and give us reward based on rarity this type of thing is more suited for post apocalyptic world because they had already loss of resources if my idea is good then please look out
I dont know what Kuro was thinking of the 50/50 gacha system. One of the worst to implant.
They'll probably change it, since this is beta. I think pgr's gacha at beta was also different to what it is now.
@@abdulwahab5994 in pgr beta you can get spook by memories lmao
