Almost 14 and I love this, it's great when your skating, writing, sleeping, and other things, my friends don't know cbs radio misery theater, and my family doesn't like it, only my grandpa is and that's how I got into it from him down loading them on my old iPod that was once my mom's and sisters, I'm so glad I did 😆
I make it apart of my nightly routine to listen to these awesome radio shows. Makes me wish they would bring them back instead of some of the other crap they play. Almost 30 going on 60 LoL
Me too! I never watch tv anymore. I either read or listen to these stories. My favourite genre is horror, ghost stories and especially the above mentioned if they're from the victorian era. Please let me know if you know of a good channel. I have plenty already but always looking for suggestions 😊
Love listing to these stories...i beleive I listen to these almost every day. I can't stand the garbage that's considered entertainment these days I refuse I don't even have cable haven't for years. But I pop my headphones in and pull up RUclips and hit play and just pretend it's a better time ☺🙂 thank you for the chance to relax and actually use my imagination!!!
Ooooh the EYE! Love the illustration. This was a good story, the part where she is out of control was well done by actors and sound men. There is another CBSRMT about a doll that is a adaption of a Algernon Blackwood story. The story was also adapted for the TV show Night Gallery.
When this aired in the Philly area on WCAU in the70's it scared the crap outta me. Prudance is played by Virginia Gregg, who was in most Dragnet episodes (the color version of Dragnet, not the b&w ones).
thanks for putting these on the girlfriend and i love listening to these before its becoming a nighttime tradition around our house. some times we go to bed early just so we can get in an extra episode :)
1982 was the final year this ran over the CBS Network, but Himan Brown made arrangements with NPR to re-broadcast a number of these episodes - in S T E R E O - either in 2000 or 2001. I remember recording a number of them of "over-the-air" from local Seattle NPR affiliate KUOW-FM with my Sony MiniDisc recorder, which was kind of advanced technology in that era. However, Unlike the original CBS-aired era episodes in which E.G. Marshall served as the host, Himan Brown himself served the same function for the NPR-era broadcasts, instead. What's interesting is that in addition to the CBSRMT episodes, he was also behind the similar anthology radio series presented by General Mills, and another presented by Sears, which aired in the 70s - IIRC, they also started on CBS as well, but later in their runs, went to Mutual and/or ABC Radio.
LoL when I was about 6 years old my mother and I visited my aunt. I had never been in her house before. Anyway I left the room we were having tea in to use the bathroom but when I came back down stairs I walked into the wrong room . The whole room was filled with dolls large and small and they all seemed to turn and stare at me; I almost soiled my short trousers . I ran out of the room screaming bcz I believed they had taken my mom and aunt. I'm still traumatized by that event ! 😂
hello and thanx... by any chance is there an episode where a guy finds a village where the people have no eyes.. and at the end they want to remove his?..

VooDoo Dolls Are Indeed Real & So Are Their Magic.... I Know First Hand! I Have An Aunt Who Never Really Liked Me But Loved My Oldest Sister Sooo Very Much! She Has Made It Very Clear To Me & My Sister That She Was Suppose Give Birth To Be Her But Died In Her Womb! On Several Occasions She Put A Spell On Me - I Didn't Know What She Was Doing At The Time Until Accident After Accident Almost Claimed My Life While She Was Trying To Save My Sister's Life - Sacrificing My Life To Save My Sister's. One Time Sissy Was In A Coma Dying From Liver Failure By Taking Too Much Tylenol. My Aunt Was Devastated To Hear She Was In A Deep Coma! While We Were Having A Family Prayer, In A Circle Holding Hands, She Made It A Point To Sit Next To Me [I was flattered until...] As The Prayer Began, She Wiggled Her Hand Out Of Mine [I thought was odd], & Put Her Hand On My Knee & Made The Devil Sign & Was Breathing Heavily While Chanting Something Under Her Breath! I Thought She Was Praying To God [our Heavenly Father] - Well, I Suppose She Was Praying To Her God, To Her "Satan"!!! I Realized This After Driving Home That Beautiful Early Evening In The Spring Of 1992... My Mother Was Driving & I Was In The Passenger Seat & Out Of Nowhere Came This Crazy Electrical Storm, High Winds - Lightening - Thunder - & Hail Came Pounding On The Freeway & Everything Seemed Very Hecktic Very Fast & I Looked To My Left Out The Window & Saw A Car Moving Straight For Me - Our Eyes Locked & Both My Mom & I Screamed At The Top Of Our Lungs & The Look On This Man's Face Was Of Sheer Shock... If I Could Read His Mind He Would've Been Saying, "Oh, My God! What Have I Done - HELP US ALL!!!!!!" I Could Feel A Rush & Everything Went Blank For An Instant, & As Fast As He Came With The Storm, He & The Storm Left!!! He Went Right Through Our Car & Made It To The Other Side Of Our Car - We Dodged A Few Cars But Sure Enough He Made It To The Exit He Was So Close To Missing! The Moral Of This True Story - - - - VooDoo & Evil Is Real & Powerful, But God Almighty Is Far Greater & Soooo Much More Reliable!!! I Don't Pretend To Understand Everything He Has A Hand In, But I Have Been Blessed To Be Alive & To Have Had Two Beautiful & Precious Daughters Who Are Everything To Me & More... Thank You For Reading! BTW - My Life Has Been Spared On Numerous Occasions So I Could Bring Two Strong Young Women Into Our Crazy-Mixed-Up World - Thank God ~ Peace!
Oh Yeah, My Aunt Used Dolls & I FOund Them One Day In A Big... She Had One For Each Female In Our Family [you could tell who was who by hair color & from small dolls, medium dolls, to taller ones - signifying our age differences & characteristic. We have a big family with the majority being female]. There Were Only Two Dolls With Pins In Them... My Mom's & Mine! I Showed My Dad, & He Immediately Took Them Out Of Our House & Had The House Blessed Because We Were Having Too Many Paranormal Incidents Happening. When I Was A New Born My Mom Came Into Her Room To Check On Sleeping "Me" & Found A Black Cloud Hovering Over Me In My Crib & Upon Yelling For It To Leave, It Took Off! Another Time My Older Sister [she was around 6 yrs] Also Found A Black Cloud Over Me! I've Had Close Calls Nearly Suffocating To Death Where My Grandma Found Me & Recovered Me... & Accidents Near Fatal, & Others I Care Not To Mention Here! OK, Thanks Again!
I used to listen to these as a kid on my transistor radio. So comforting & peaceful to do that again, albeit with my iphone on my pillow!!

Thank you for posting these episodes!
That graphic is worthy of a Stephen King novel's front cover.....great story as well. I had a scary stuffed clown I had to get rid of it....LOL
I got a Betsy Wetsy for Christmas one year and it's true! You could not trust her! The water went right through her!!!!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Many a wet towels.😄
Wouldn't it make more sense for Eric to have a doll made of Jimmy instead of Lauren?
GAHHHHHH! THAT DOLL!!!!
Never have been able to trust dolls or professors.
Lol
Hi from Virginia! Thanks for the episode! 7/21/22
Thank you!
I LOVED this Am program when I was a kid. VERY creepy and So COOL thanks for putting this on.
These shows ran from '74 to '80 something. I can't imagine the production schedule. Hyman Brown was one dedicated producer, for sure.

Himan Brown was THE MAN ;-)
My Mother sed to collect porcelain dolls ,had a whole room dedicated too them .Needless to say ,it was a very creepy room ,all eyes followed you .

😱🕯wow, that 's creepy lol!
Scariest dream I ever had was about a doll....
Thanks so much!
Jesus, the thumbnail scared me more than the broadcast.
🤣🤣
The actor playing the role of her boyfriend, Jimmy, reminds me of the voice of Richard Mulligan from the TV show SOAP.
🚬😎👍
Very creepy, many thanks for sharing : )
This illustration would be perfect for the story by Ray Bradbury "Zero Hour". Also adapted for radio a few times, but not for CBSRMT.
I've stabbed a doll before. I'm not proud of it but, it's the truth.
Did the doll haunt you lol?
Jessica Nicole i haunt dolls.
The graphic is really creepy. Good work!
Damballa? (spelling?) "Oh Oui Doo oui Damballa. Give me the power, I beg of you!" Child's Play! CHUCKY. Another bit of voodoo gone terribly wrong.
Pretty good

Not very good episode
Perhaps not, but the cast is excellent. It's a pleasure to listen to them.
