Is a screen shield needed or is it strong enough. Kind of bumbed now i didn't get these to replace my dots. Since have ring would not need phone to view when home. Sure they will have it for that again with trade up options
I don't think you would need a screen shield unless you going to place it in a rough environment like garage or something like that. Yes I bought 3 more shows to replace my regular Echo devices, but they will be more opportunities coming.
i see that a lot of people have full screen when they make video calls. When I make a video call I only get a thumbnail. How do I change this? I've looked through the settings but cant find it.
Hey so I can't add shopping list, I have the alexa app on my phone and I see it shows the show 5 but it doesn't connect to the show when I say to add milk to shopping list. Also the skills don't work even tho I have it enabled.

Swipe down from the top - Go to settings - Choose Home & Clock - then uncheck the "24-Hour Clock" Little FYI - to translate norman time from military time minus 12 from 13:00 to 23:59
When I say Alexa with a low or normal voicethe ecoshow not answer at all only answer if I raise my voice more than once. Is there a solution to this problem? Note I have eco dot 3 and without raising my voice its answer immediately
Sounds like something is not right with that Echo Show, you should have to shout. I believe there's something wrong with that device, I would recommend you contact Amazon support and report the issue. There's no settings to adjust the mic sensitivity, although there should be one.
How do I get ring 2 doorbell to show. Echo show 5 is not finding my door bell. I have the show added to the Alexa app but I can't get the show and ring doorbell to cooperate.

We like the audio quality of the Echo Show 5 . . . Until . . . you pair a bluetooth device, or an Amazon remote. After disconnecting the bluetooth, the built in speaker looses it’s fidelity and sounds very tinny. To return the fidelity to the built-in speakers, I have to unplug the power and plug it back in. Also, when I paired the Amazon remote, the mic function did not work; all the other features worked. I had to pair the Amazon remote to my Echo Dot, and then the remote updated itself and the mic function would work on the Echo Show 5. I may just have a faulty device.
You know the same thing happened to me earlier this year on my Echo Show 10 and then the problem fixed itself - I haven't had that problem since, but now the display won't auto dim at night when the lights are off, I would suggest to you to do what I do call the customer care for help. The time is set & update automatically base on your location, if the time is off then most likely is reading the wrong time zone. You can change that in Settings - Device Options - Date & Time.
Wow, that's strange. Try this go into settings and change the Time Zone to something else (Central, Pacific...) and see what it does. Then if updates the time and date for that time zone, then change back to Eastern to see if correct for your time zone. If you are still having issue contact Amazon, because there's no way to set the time manually.
When you open the last icon at the very bottom of the App "Devices" will lead you to all the devices, Echo, Lights, Plugs, Etc. After clicking on Echo and Alexa you should see a list of Echo devices on your account.
so I did a factory reset and alarm sounds worked yesterday morning, but this morning.... the 2 (soft) beeps, (wouldn't wake anything up) returned. I'm thinking on returning it and buy a normal alarm clock. amazon support was less than helpful, they told me to do another factory reset, which would delete my 15 alarms
You neglected to mention all of the new settings that the Echo Shows have the side swipe menu setting. You access it by swiping from right to left. This is where all of your Smart Home and other settings are. What you showed are the basics.

Not sure why you are having that problem - check the Screen Magnifier in Accessibility settings

Theres a whisper mode on my 5 which will hear your voice even at a whisper.

Hey Tom, try removing the doorbell and the Ring skill, then setup everything again from scratch.

Hey Trent, you might just have a bad one that's what I believe, I would try exchanging it with another before giving up.
