Hi steve thanks for you vidoe, question do you has to have a service provider for the echo to work? can you used your phone wifi to use the echo , i sent bone for my brother, he does'nt have a service provider, please help me out i just wanted to know, i wanted to purchsed one for my self , i have a service provider, plus am i am a Amazon prime member , so when i ready to purchase my echo i ready to go,so my question could my brother set up his echo for video calling without a service provider ?please reply

Nice video. I just purchased this echo show 5 because I purchased it with a Nooie baby camera monitor and it came with this show 5. But I’m unsure if they are compatible with it since I can’t download the Nooie app on the show or can I? Are you able to install apps on it?

have one set up just by the front door, super convenient to change the heating or showing the ring doorbell. And it syncs with my google calendar. Can't really ask for much more for the price

I got the echo dot,works perfect, I like it.
I decided to get the echo show, for some reason I can't set up with the rest of my devices.
I have the Dot upstairs works wonderfully but when I added Echo Show 5 downstairs it says Something went wrong for everything you ask it to do. The setup went well and it worked for less than a day then started with the something went wrong message. What do I need to do to fix this?
Can you use it as a camera for example, cheack what the cats are doing during the day while I’m at work?

I just got an Echo Show 5. LOVE IT! Very cool.
When you swipe down, I get two rows of commands. When you swipe left, I only get the Alexa tabs. How do I get the down swipe second row of commands back on the left swipe? Please let me know.

@@TechSteve Thanks! I don't want to change the software. I must have by mistake moved the items from the left swipe and they made a second row under the items for the bottom swipe.
I have it but I only use it for ring doorbell and turning lights on. I don’t even touch it for the features

A quick question...thanks for the helpful info on the Echo Show. I am going to travel overseas in a campervan and while I will have my iPhone and a personal hot spot, I don't think I will be able to connect to the internet on any regular schedule. I LOVE my Echo Show at home but I am wondering if I can "load" movies and books onto the Echo Show and play them/listen to them while I am parked in an area with NO ACCESS to the internet in a foreign country. Is there any way to pre-load and store everything on the Echo Show so I don't have to worry about hooking up computers, iPods, iPads, iPhones or draining my battery backups. I hope you have a suggestion. It seems like it needs to be connected to my home WiFi but that won't be possible when I am overseas. Thanks!

I just bought the 5 show 2nd gen. And I have a Samsung soundbar Q900A which is supposed to work with Alexa. I kind of got there, chimes and voice come from the soundbar but the music plays from the Alexa device. Any advice on how to make the soundbar the main source of sound?
I have 5 Alexa devices they hear what they hear no main device unless you mute mics
i’ve been having trouble setting mine up, it keeps going back and forth between the registration code and “log in to your account”, it says that the device was registered but then kicked me back to the log in page

Omg I have the same issue so it’s just been sitting back in the box for over a year now because I’m getting frustrated with it.
I happen to me once, it was because i was using my phone number not the email registered with amazon, I did a factory reset and added the email that’s on my Amazon app and presto

Fun trick for a customer alarm sound say your call word,
the time you wish to wake up, then the name of a song you like
and you'll be woken up to that song.
Example: Alexa, set an alarm for 8am/pm to Ruth's Chris freestyle by remble.

That’s automatically done, if you don’t see it on the app is because you probably used your phone number or something different when you originally set it up. Unfortunately you have to factory reset it and make sure you use the exact same email on your Amazon Alexa app

This normal happens when you use your phone number or email that’s not on your Amazon account so it creates a new account. Factory reset and if it finds your profile click no to de-register the try your login again
