Is there a chance that we could get a behind-the-scenes video once? Like, how do you start designing a craft for such a mission, what iterations do you go through? I'd also be interested in the same, but about the mission itself: how do you decide what ascent profile to use? Once you're in LKO, do you simply look at a dV map and decide where to go with what you have? I don't care if such a behind-the-scenes video is 12 hours long, I'd be very interested.

Good lord man, I legitimately thought you were just going to orbit! ...Then I legitimately thought you were just landing on minmus. You continue to surprise me with the order of magnitude of your efficiency.
next on the odyssey, bill will use a Caplan engine to move kerbol to a more convenient spot in the galaxy, and defiantly not so that his ships have more solar power to heat up snacks
The music which starts at 7:41 is perfect for Eve. It doesn't seem to be in the list at the end, though there's too many variatons on them to really check.
You called the nerv an atrocious choice for this task but honestly if anything you going to minimus, gilly AND laythe after reaching orbital is a very serious compliment to the nervs, once IN orbit they’re insanely efficient and are far more flexible than ion engines, all with a SINGLE nerv too, imagine if you scaled it up further, probably my single favorite engine in the game
"400 m/s - should be enough to return to Kerbin"
- Goes to Jool instead
As is tradition.
Now, when Sabbatical is over, he will need someone to pick him up. Otherwise, he might run out of snacks.
A mission for the blunderbirds.

Because why not!?
"Bill saves Delta-V on this landing as well by wheelbraking from orbital speed"
Not something I thought I'd hear
when orbital speed is 15 m/s...
@@hphp31416 that’s gilly
you didnt hear it. you read it.
TBF, orbital speed on Gilly is below _highway speed._
that took some _Nerve_
on a side note, this man literaly lithobraked from orbit using _Actual wheelbrakes_
Thrice! Although he probably could have lithobraked with his nose on Gilly.

Bill taking a sabbatical? As if the multi-year transfer time wasn't enough?
I think mission time counts as working hours so he should have a few extra days off in the savings.
“a few”
Love it! I'm very impressed with what you managed to pull out of one NERVA
Likely, many are now waiting for you to give a beer to hold on that - the two of you doing that has become something to be expected.
Stratzenblitz75 collab again
I love your videos! I think I found all the rouge ai!
Good
Nerv, the NERVA is a part of the interstellar travel mod
What is this? An early Christmas present? He’s back!
oh my god is it really wally
"Thhhisssssss, is an all new 2019 Nerv Single Stage To Orbit, and today Im going to review it"

Wait a second did he just strand bill? Do I see a disgustingly over engineered rescue vehicle coming up?
Ow yeah
@@TKFeather Ow yeah
to "rescue" him from his retirement
The " Blunder birds " to the rescue?
It's just going to be a command chair and gravity assists.
Imagine nasa doing this:
"Hey, we still have 210 kg of fuel"
"Lets land on the moon then"
Minmus: Aight
Gilly: Woah
Laythe: YEET
wait a sec, zip ties...
NOW WE KNOW WHAT AUTOSTRUTS ARE MADE OUTA!
Yes. The clipped off "waste" ends of zip ties.
*On Minmus*
"Damn, is 1km of Delta-V sufficient to go back to kerbin?"
Bradley "Aight I'm coming, Eve..."
Actually... _hey Laythe! Miss me?_
I love the avian design of the wings, you could name the ship the hummingbird.
It sure does sip fuel, but I think hummingbirds burn through theirs a lot faster! 😉

I can’t hear this song without thinking about Tom and Jerry when Tom plays the piano at that concert
I was thinking the exactly same thing!
Lol thanks, *that's* where I know it from!
i associate it with weddings
@@learningtoflag5410 they are talking about the second song, though i do associate the 1st with weddings as well

egybizonyosember DV maps that I know of do not include gravity assists that brad likes to do
No
I would love to see this as well
My guess is the closest we will get are some of his ksp orbital maneuver videos
He's too advanced for dv maps
As soon as I saw 2 km/s in LKO, I knew you were going to Gilly, you absolute UNIT of a madlad
bill got stuck on laythe? this is a job for The Blunderbirds!
It wasn't a blunder though, Bill went awol.

This is the second mission that Brad has completed (with extra points for style) that I had previously believed to be 100% impossible.
Yay! Hungarian Rhapsody! Next step is to bring back Bill....,right?
Your use of comic sans in the thumbnail was a great touch.

I think that Bill's unexpected vacation is getting on the "Nerv" of KSP people
I missed these videos so much. Please do more Odyssey by Bill!
One kerbal, one engine, 38 years
he's back
I approve of the liszt in the background
Wow. He's back.
where was the brad score
You ever see a craft that just shouldn’t work so much that it makes you angry? Yeah that’s this SSTO for me
I can't believe you had the "NERV" to do this!
Nobody:
Bill:

This channel deserves more subs. It has great content and no clickbait.
Damn congrats on getting married to that SSTO Bill, my man.
every engineer ever: A Rudder is always a good idea on a plane
Bill: What's a Rudder?
Uau, meu presente de natal chegou adiantado! Obrigado Bradley, estava com saudades de vídeos nesse formato.
To Jool after 2 prior landings with a single fucking nerva. You overshadowed Stratzenbiltz in a Phoenix-shaped flying wing.
Your ability with this game amazes me every single time. Great video!
Bradley I think these videos bring me more joy than any other on RUclips... thanks m8
Reminds me of a Romulan Warbird, I quite like this craft
Who allowed you to be so good at this
Thanks for the early Christmas present
Hurry, watch the video before the music is copyright claimed!
Hr2 is copyclaimed by subhumans, so oof
All of the KSC staff: so uh where can you even go with such a small ssto?
Bill: Yes.
I'm a huge fan of the classical music in all these videos. Good choices
0:54 Okay Doug
you should try to get him to voice one of your craft reviews
imagine if an astronaut had a mission to get to orbit and they visit jupiter
William hath returned to his quest! Huzzah!
Beautiful. The Immortal Bill deserves a bit of a break after his multiple hundred-year missions for the KSP.
I hope Bill is a AAA member or has the Blunderbirds on speed dial.
Brad the kind of guy to give his own sibling a "Brad Score" smh
this is the most ridiculous and over-the-top flex I have ever seen and I love it
Laythe: has air and water perfect for life
Also laythe: no life or plants naturally there
I can hear the Kerbals screaming as their bodies are destroyed by the radiation
I love these so much, keep up the amazing work kerbal komrade
33 seconds ago this video was posted
and i'm here
it has finally been done
You're 2nd
Forever amazed by the resourcefulness and insanity of these videos
Sure, it looks pretty on the outside, but I hear the panel gaps on the inside are so bad that Bill stores his tubes of snack goo in them.
Bad? That's the very well engineered goo-gap storage system I'll have you know! And some of it was actually intentional!
Below is a link to my autotrader column where I've compiled a list of other Nerv only missions.
Thanks for this amazing Christmas present.
Waking up to this is the best Christmas present I could ever receive
0:56 ok doug 😂😂😂
Me with 1000 m/s of dV: "Oh no is this enough to go back"
Brad with 1000 m/s: "Let's go to Eeloo!"
I like that it sort of resembles the Egyptian Horus falcon symbol
Possibly Name for it: OBB-N 33 "Sparrow"
Nice Doug Demuro joke at the beginning
A new video from brad AND Kurzgezagt?!?!
next on the odyssey, bill will use a Caplan engine to move kerbol to a more convenient spot in the galaxy, and defiantly not so that his ships have more solar power to heat up snacks
loved the music, felt like i was watching mary poppins
i was reading the entire beginning in a Doug DeMuro voice in my head lol
Good to see you back!! Love your content, keep up the great work!!
2hr ion propulsion burn for me. Thanks for this
8:24 I like the word earliar. Describes someone who says lies right to your ear :D
Bill has returned at last, thank you.
starting music: * plays *
everyone : BILL FINALLY MARRIED ROBOTUG ?????
Fair play Bill knows how to ration his snacks
Just beautiful
Loved the Doug de Miro reference
Now that you make me think, I should send a spaceship to rescue Bill. I hope he isn't mad because his companions left him behind.
And then there is me who uses several of the largest fule tanks and more than enough mammoth engines to fly my scrap pile into a wanabe orbit
+1 for that Doug DeMuro reference at the beginning
But what’s the Bill Score?
Mind-boggling.
Hungarian rhapsody really goes well with this insanity
The music which starts at 7:41 is perfect for Eve. It doesn't seem to be in the list at the end, though there's too many variatons on them to really check.

The blunderbirds have been called.
You might wanna call up the blunderbirds for this one.
The vessel needs to be named Bird of Paradise for the dance it did on Gilly
