    Before I could even get a qualified run for my SRB river kile run, Brad goes and does this. Stunning work as always! I was actually surprised to see that this could manage the return trip too, but I see that the Mun gravity assist and Minmus wheel braking helped a lot with that.

      I've seen it done before, and even (barely) pulled it off myself but using only SRBs takes it to the next level after the next level!

      I would say that doing stupid things is the intended experience of KSP. This may be it in its purest form, a ship built entirely out of MOAR boosters.

    That must've taken A LOT of part-clipping to get all those boosters in there! Judging by the exterior, I would've thought it was just one Clydesdale that somehow was able to go all the way to Minmus...

      @@buttersquids Of course not because it depends on smart design instead of just adding more boosters. Anyone can get to Moho, Tylo or Eve and back with enough stages. To do it with certain stage or mass constraints makes it more challenging and interesting.

      The initial thrust limits are the biggest issue. Otherwise, the ISP is very similar to SRBs. You could probably get almost anywhere using the "refueling tug to Minmus" approach used in the Minimal Bill Eve Lander. Eve and Tylo are probably no-gos though, just for reasons of physics. I would be happy to be proven wrong though.

      Eve is impossible without propellers, the isp of the engines is 0 (at least at sea level, but even at 9 km of altitude the pressure is high

    Little note: its possible to sync the thrust limit of srbs to throttle. How it acts is it will throttle up, but throttling down is slow (but it is throttle cotrol)

    For the minmus takeoff, what's the advantage of burning the 2 SRBs one at a time vs together? Although miniscule, wouldn't the higher acceleration from burning both together reduce the delta V lost to gravity?

    I can’t decide how Kerbal this is. On one hand, it’s literally all boosters, and something like sixty of them, but it’s such an elegant design that I hesitate to call it properly Kerbal.

    I have stopped questioning the why, now I only have the HOWWWW? Do you do the exact math to know for how long each booster should burn, tons of quicksaving, or multiple tries? (Or all of the above?)
    I'm impressed that you got a good periapsis for aerobreaking, and then you even land on the KSC.

    That Minmus landing! *chef's kiss* I can understand it needing a literal metric ton of reaction wheels. On large semi-realistic builds, I'm starting to rely on RCS instead of reaction wheels because if you don't clip the wheels together, they just take up too much space, requiring large heavy cargo bays in spaceplanes. But I suppose I could clip several together and just say they're heavier wheels, couldn't I?
    Edit! The Kerbin gliding was wonderful too! :D
