As mentioned in my previous videos, one of my initial goals was to begin honing my skills in machining aluminum. Prior to handling any of the actual CNC frame components, I aimed to establish a high level of confidence in utilizing various tools and techniques, including hole drilling, counterboring, and thread tapping. To accomplish this, I intentionally acquired a piece of aluminum stock material to serve as a canvas for all my learning experiences and mistakes. Thus far, the process has been remarkably smooth. You can watch the RUclips video linked below, where I guide you through the tools and equipment I'll be using for machining the CNC frame. I was originally planning for this video to be singular, however, including the demonstrations the combined length would have been over 30 minutes. Therefore, it made sense to split this into two seperate videos for easier viewing. That means a double upload this week! Part 2 will be out this Wednesday at 6pm BST. See you there :)

you can use a deburring tool for straight edges too, on outside edges you go counterclockwise around your part
7.5 for an M8 is to big, normal is 6.8 but 7 or 7.2 is easier for hand tapping.
M8x1.25, the pitch is 1.25 also the depth is 1.25, hence 6.8 for M8
M6x1 so a 5mm drill, but i use 5.2 for deep holes for easier tapping.
Edit:
Check my channel, i have built a lot of cnc machines, probably over 40 by now. No mill or lathe, just hand tools.
Yes you are correct! I did provide a metric tap chart in the video description for reference. The 7.5 was just used here for demonstration. I will be using 7.0 on the CNC frame👍🏻
6.8 dia drill for m8. 5 dia for m6. 4.2 dia drill for m5..
