- I am diving back into the gritty world of Red Dead Redemption 2, determined to make amends with the game that once left me frustrated. This time, I am setting a unique challenge for myself: I will play through the entire game without uttering a single complaint, no matter what twists and turns the game throws at me. If I slip up, it will cost me $25 each time-a potentially expensive lesson in patience and perseverance.

I do enjoy this longer form, cut but not cut too much, not overly memed up editing. I enjoy the other stuff too, but this is a good game for this style editing.

Yes! I was actually going to comment something like this. I think it's nice that the long parts of gameplay are cut out but without leaving the important parts of the story in gameplay, like speaking with characters while in camp.

What the hell are all those bugs? Im almost certain its a hardware issue man. Ive played rdr2 on my toaster the day it came out on PC and didn't find any
Really great editing, funny and well paced, one of your sharpest edited videos in a long time i would say.
Editing is very well done! I like the music in gunfights and knowing the game I think that ratio between plot scenes/dialogues and gameplay is good. I hope that in other episodes where Matt will have more freedom, the videos will contain non-essential stuff for main story

As a member of the Red Dead community we still love you even tho you hate this masterpiece. 😂 And i think that's been the beauty of it over the years coz even people who vibe more with GTA and dont like the slower laid back western style of Red Dead can give the game its flowers coz they were basically over the years able to take the principles that made GTA so successful and place them into a much better storytelling experience even if the gameplay isn't as beloved or chaotic as GTA

Am I the only one that's not vibing with the way some of the dialogue is being cut here? I can understand cutting the less important parts to smooth out the pacing like the shootouts, hunting game, Javier and Arthur running away from the wolves, Dutch and Arthur slowly walking down to Colm's hideout, etc, etc... But other stuff like shortening Dutch's speech at the beginning, Sadie's last bits of dialogue after rescuing her, Javier talking about the heist in Blackwater, Dutch's backstory with Colm, the ride back to camp after kidnapping Kieran (the dialogue there is funny), those parts I feel like there could've been a different way of fastening the pace without either shortening them or out right cutting them out of the video, this game is heavy on story and half the fun is hearing characters talk...
I know that, at the end of the day, these are minor nitpicks and nobody other than me cares about them, but like Matt says at the beginning, "My main goal is to accept the game for what it is and play it as intended, rather than wishing it was something else." and I feel like the editing should reflect that mentality as well, specially considering that Matt actually pays attention to the story and gives his opinions about it later on in this playthrough, removing some of the dialogue would also be removing some of the context behind Matt's opinions, a slightly more relaxed editing style would suit this playthrough better, imo.
I'm actually happy to see Matto play trough Red Dead 2 now. It's a great game.
Matto, you talked about different dialogue options for gta 6 for different outcomes and i believe they should do what this game did and have you choose like, "do you want to chase after the O'Driscolls or hold position", that would work i think

Clipping is one of the most impossible things to solve in videogames. I wish gamers would stop talking about it at all. GTA VI will have it. Half Life 3 will have it. TES 6 will have it. Any game will have it for a long time.
Lol TES 6 will have more than just minor clipping.
I wish rockstar would stop obsessing over it too. Ruined so many possible outfits in GTAO
I've seen plenty of games solve the clipping issue, so I still think it's appropriate to call it out. Plus, with the fact that games can be updated post launch, I don't see a reason why it can't be an important thing to try and fix.

@@plexyglass429 i had the pleasure (or displeasure) of having to create my own game from scratch for a college project, and God it was awful to try and make the hitboxes work with the player, especially when it came to the player colliding with a moving enemy
so i honestly can’t imagine what the process must be like for a game as complex as red dead 2, that guy really doesn’t know what he’s talking about 😂😂

I prefer to think of rdr2 not as a revolutionary game in terms of gameplay, instead I try to focus on the story the game is trying to tell. Although that makes the game quite scripted, the story is so good that i don't mind.
I think about it more of like a movie that i control the pace.

Personally don't like heavy use of the music.
It's sounds fine from my tablet. And the editing is nice. There are a few gun shot didn't hit quite right on the strong beat at the second shootout. But the flow is fine. I never played RDR2 so there isn't much story in the first chapter for me, maybe the game is just slow on storytelling, but at least I am following a few characters alright.
I like the little though after the gameplay, and it will be nice if we also have a few bits or pieces from the next episode before the end to get viewers hype.
It is definitely a game with slow storytelling, but if you haven't played it I highly recommend it.
I admit, I only learned of this game’s story through Matt’s livestreams, so it took a while to learn the names of the gang and keep up with the story

The clipping issue is mostly from high fps and very high graphic settings

My biggest issue with the RDR2 is:
- The bounty system (bounty hunters will scare off strangers and halt random encounters, plus killing bounty hunters doesn’t do anything to your bounty which was a wasted opportunity)
- John’s model in the epilogue is weird as it looks too much like Arthur’s (they wanted to share the same fitment, which is lazy because they made new fitment for the online characters so why couldn’t they do the same for John)
- The things they’ll do to avoid clipping. For example the floating bandolier. If you wear a bandolier it will float above your body like magic. All that was done to avoid clipping, but all that it does is cause it to clip with Arthur’s neckerchief.
