I recently replayed rdr2 and I love how Matto and I had the same exact sequence play out after the bar fight: - try to use stable - run back to camp whistling for horse - kill turkey - run back to camp with skinned turkey
I know it’s a different editor for this episode, and I have to say, it’s a step up in the right direction imo. The second half has personally better editing for me, nice seamless “Tie your shoes” edit, glad there’s use of original game soundtrack like in the LENNNNY mission. But I think we need a different thumbnail. It’s good don’t get me wrong, but I really want a thumbnail that has Matt integrated into the game he’s playing. Look at the thumbnails for his Saints Row, Hitman, True Crime playhthrus. I’d recommend have him pose either with certain characters or even on his own in a rdr2 outfit, than making the thumbnail look like a rambles episode. You could maybe go the Hitman 2 thumbnail route, and have Matt in a rdr2 outfit posing with Arthur. The first episode could be Matt with Dutch and Arthur, or alternatively John, Hosea or Micah. Which the original thumbnail for the first episode was there, but Matt still was in a casual black shirt and not really interacting with what was in the thumbnail This second episode could have him with Lenny, Kieran, or alternatively John or Charles I get this is a series instead of a single thumbnail, really limiting the creative choice, but these two thumbnails at the time feel really lacklustre

I wonder if matto will go ahead and get all the gold bars near the horseshoe overlook For example there is a gold bar In a burnt down town It's pretty much right underneath the camp in chapter 2 In the sheriff's office is a lockbox which has a good bar Gold bard can be small or big Small ones sell for 300 dollars and big ones sell for 500 The one in that lockbox is a large one so it's a total of 500 dollars you can get There is another gold bar In a derailed train car It does take some parkour and is in the grizzlies east You can follow the train track to find it It's on the one that is standing vertically on a cliff face It has 2 or 3(I think) small gold bars inside it amounting to 600 or 900 dollars There are also quite a few weapons you can unlock easily There is an old woman's shack near the town strawberry It's actually near hanging dog ranch (a location that will be important later) you can actually get a semi-automatic shotgun from the basement (which is normally a weapon you unlock in chapter 6) There is also the Rhodes gun store random encounter which can get you the Lancaster repeater for free and way earlier Again you can get the repeater from day 1 even though it's normal unlocked through a chapter 2 heist involving a stagecoach and Micah You can also get a pump action shotgun for free in one of the house robberies in chapter 2-3 (it can be completed in both I believe) There is this house where a bunch of people live They speak some weird language and in the main house there is a gun case with a pump action shotgun in there Let's also not forget the white Arabian Found in the very north of the map near lake Isabella It's the bets overall horse in the game It has 6 speed and 6 acceleration With a saddle you can actually get these to 8 and with enough usage you'll get 10 It can also be gotten day 1 and will be the only horse you need early game If you do go up there I should also recommend taking the petrified wood It's in a chest in a cave near lake Isabella and can be used to craft stuff in a fence Usually crafting is worth it especially early since you can actually get decent buffs such as Improved experience gain for health, stamina and dead eye Longer duration for health, stamina and dead eye And there are a bunch more Also would recommend doing as many challenges as possible Doing easy challenges such as the hunter challenges will give you free stuff such as bandolier, Holsters (both main and second) and belts also These things aren't useless they improve certain things Foe example holsters make it so your guns will not get dirty as quickly Belts allow you to carry more pistol and revolver rounds And bandolier allow you to carry more shotgun and rifle rounds These can be used to get the early lead in rdr2
I was a lot like you Matt in regards to RDR2. I played it for a few hours and then kinda didn’t know what to do and stopped and never went back. I finished the first bit where you go through the snow, then when you wind up at your first encampment I stopped playing. I really need to go back and give it another go.
