Wish we had a "attack move units only" button to deal with that stuff! It makes no sense to keep firing on any building as so many don't matter.

@@harrisonr6594 i tend to forget about siege sometimes, i've not played the game in years, since it came out actually because i enjoyed aoe3de more, but some months ago i started playing again and i just make dumb mistakes. But i've managed to get platinum somehow
@@harrisonr6594 Also something i noticed, my bad scouting usually ends with a hundred men at arms knocking on my door and me compmetely unprepaired trying to defend my life with 20 longbows

Smart to transition to cavalry. I see too many players continue to pump out units that are just not right, but they don't want to spend the extra resources to create new buildings to pump out different ones. Even more so when the enemy is on your doorstep.
honestly, there should be 3 more ranks above conq 3 with 500, 200, and 100 people. And then there should be a rank called Aussie Drongo's top 5 with 30 slots
Hey Drongo, I wanted to say I fully support having more ranked distribution in higher tiers, 1600-2000 needs an entire 3 division, followed by 2000+ elo being contenders and the top 25 being another rank called a unique name suiting age of empire Wolololo`s :D

Rocket league had a similar issue where the gap between pro players and your average Joe GC was enormous. They added SSL but I don’t follow the pro scene anymore so idk how effective it’s been
Demu hung on to palace guards only for so long despite facing crossbow-ghulam that I thought he was meeming for a second. The firelancer switch saved him and the gold control was clutch which prob won him the game. Should have been an easy win a lot earlier if he made the adjustments earlier. I feel like China is the overwhelming favorite against Abbassid on this map unless if you also go for a crazy trade route and spam like mass camels with tons of seige or something

That farm placement almost cost demu the game - once the kid attacked the chinese lost all access to food and with that to unit production...

Why didn't he wait 3-4 seconds for the scout to leave before chasing his villagers across behind its LoS signalling that he was going to rush the landmark at his base?

Id like to see the dev's update the dynasty functionality. Abbasid lose their landmark buffs when the landmark is destroyed, why can't chinese lose their dynasty when a landmark is destroyed?
What are you talking about? The Chinese do. If you lose one of your Age 2 landmarks, you lose Song dynasty. Same for Age 3 and 4. You lose landmark bonuses and dynasty bonuses for Chinese.
@@jacobfsu so if they build both feudal landmarks, and then they go to the next age with a yuan dynasty, they don't have the accelerated vil production?
@jasonharter4876 correct. For example: you build both fuedal landmarks and get song dynasty and it's bonuses. Then when you build both castle landmarks you move into yuan dynasty and only receive yuan dynasty bonuses.
personally i think there should be a other rank like top 500/100 in the region.

Pro players already have difficulties to find lobbies to play on ladder, extending even more the rankings will increase this even more. And maybe drive pro players away from the game...

Personally a believer that Chinese vils should lose the building speed buff if they cross like 50% of the map until like castle age or something. Watching Chinse vils instant build a keep landmark and outposts in the enemy base isnt really it for me.
Exactly. It's practically impossible to deny an outpost being built in your base if the Chinese guy brings more than 5 villagers. You might kill 1 or 2 off but either way that tower will stand before you can respond in any decent way...

I want to see the game till one dies/loses, and not the one where everyone just resigns.
Adding more ranks at the top will not fix the underlying issue with skill rating. We've seen it ruin Rocket League MMR because the devs weren't willing to fix the actual underlying issue which is bad rating modification after a match.
My top 2 priorities for game fixes though are:
1. destroy fast age up meta by adding benefits to staying early against later ages, rather than making imp objectively better at everything. For instance faster unit prod and half cheaper prices for troops that can 2v1 imp troops with the right counter. Also having resources stored in actual buildings with a cap of resource storage until you build more would be pretty cool for early counters. And I don't want more unique heroes, I want 300 pop. Sometimes you just wanna go ham on civs, and others on troops. We should have this option to bruteforce troops numbers vs upgraded troops of higher ages.
2. overhaul the map editor so it doesnt take any advanced learning/coding. I would love to draw maps with brushes easily like older AOE games, and using a system of brush layers to influence random gen in a more accurate way than the stupid squares they give us in intermediate mode. I wanted nothing but specialized in AOE4 map making in 2023. Instead I got literally nothing, because the editor is worse than a stinky ass.
