We totally agree with you. The Jason in 2012 was insensitive, focused on himself and his vengeance and didn't provide a safe heaven for Sam so she could lean on him. Jason didn't try to be understanding to her situation. He was to wrap up in his own stuff that he lost perspective on what Sam was dealing with. Then, Jason had the nerve to confide in Elizabeth which created more problems between him and Sam because of the unpleasant history between all of them. And yet, Jason couldn't or wouldn't see that. Nonetheless, we strongly believe that the 2012 Jason happened because the writers fell asleep at the wheel. They decided to mix to many things together and ended up messing up the true nature of beloved characters by creating a really bad stroryline. The only thing they did right was the last couple of Steven Burton's episodes as Jason Morgan in which he rescued Sam's baby and once again, they reunited as a family. The whole thing before the baby switch began to unfold was totally unnecessary, unbelievable and a waste of time not to mention disrespectful to loyal fans that expect better quality of writing.
These poor kids. If they'd really gone through this much in their lives, they'd all be psychotic or chronically depressed. The whole family needs meds and a good therapist.
if you think about it sam and patrick lost the spouses about 8 months apart i think that is why patrick is a little protective of sam and danny
