We've found that the first half of the game is won by "land moves" of block armies and the 2nd half is won and the game with combined fleet moves ! Early in the game you are building up forces ( armies of blocks) and blocking forces and maybe winning a few battles ( ?) BUT later after those armies are built up (blocking forces) it is better to group up your multiple fleets to control the sea areas and cover those vast distances by water to move around and past those blocking forces and capture VPs in the rear areas ! :-)
Hello can you tell me what happens when it's the winter time supply, there is a fight ongoing in a city and each player has more than 3 blocks in the city because the fight is not finished. Who takes out blocks and how many of them ?
What a fantastic review Marco. Just detailed enough, a great look at the components, a quick overview of gameplay and tactics, plus your enthusiasm is great and makes the overall video very enjoyable to watch. I look forward to seeing more of your reviews, and would love to see more Columbia Games block wargames reviewed.
Terrific review Marco....I just bought the game and am looking forward to trying it out, even more, after watching your review. Your style of presentation is excellent and I look forward to other reviews.
I love the subject matter but was wary of a civil war game. Just generally more interested in Rome vs different civilizations. However, your review changed my mind. Looks like a fascinating alternative to Hannibal: Rome vs Carthage and Imperium Romanum II. Thank you for making this.
give me a break, I'm so sick of gamey games where nothing realistic regulates movement or reinforcements etc just draws of the card no decisions to be made just heavy duty random BS might as well play Sorry

Thanks for the great review!
What Columbia wargame do you like best?
Rommel in the Desert, followed by Julius Caesar.

Mmmmm very tempting! :)
'At the core I'm a romantic'! Those digressions don't happen too often but when they do they always make me laugh! No offence.
