My shoulder has not been the same since. I wish I had something like this when it happened. I’m glad that you had it recorded. Video footage makes the officers and insurance job way easier plus your voice speaks louder with the video. So many cases or scenarios but anyway
Hi. I agree 100% with the dash cam. I always use one and I had many different ones through the years, but always helmet mounted. I want to try one like that one one day. Also, I had a Rebel 500. I loved that bike. The 1100 must be a blast. Thanks for your video!

@@ontherebel11 Is there any other benefit to using thunderbox besides not having to split a connection from a fuse? I just got 2025 Rebel 1100 DCT and also the F1 dashcam system. About to install it and I'm not sure if getting the Thunderbox would provide any benefit. I've seen a few mentions on Reddit that some newer vehicles and motorcycles don't like accessories attached to their circuits, since they're also signal-carrying, but I don't know if I'll run into any issues here. Obviously, I'll find out once I hook it up, but figured it's worth asking if you've ran into any such issues when you hooked up your system directly.
@_B_K_ congratulations on getting the 2025 model! Lots of benefits of using a thunderbox, most importantly for me is that I didn't need to splice into any cables and thus risking voiding the warranty. The electrical system on the rebel is sensitive as it has cruise control, traction control and ABS. Plus it allowed me to connect my Aux lights and heated gear to the thunderbox. Additionally, adding connections directly to the battery will interfere with the storage tray under the seat to be installed properly and as a result causes issues securing the side covers. To sum it up, using the thunderbox gives me peace of mind tbh 🍻

That camera has some seriously impressive quality for a dashcam. I am curious why you didn't run the rear camera cable under the fender with the cables for the brake light and signals. Is it just a PITA to get under there without taking off the fender or tire?
Hi Sinnamortai!! it is very impressive indeed! very observant!! Hi. Thank you for this. However, I emailed Vantrue today asking if a Thunderbox can be used and the technicians said NO. Can you please confirm that it does and you have no issues, and if so, did you just connect the Vantrue accessory switched wire to one of the Thunderbox positive connectors and the Vantrue main positive + negative power supply wires directly to the battery? Thanks.
Hi there! Yes, it most certainly does work while connected to a thunderbox, I've personally installed this setup on 2 bikes. I connected both positive and acc wires to the thunderbox, as well as the negative. Make sure you use ferrules for a secure connection. Only drawback is that the camera can only run when the engine is running, but that was what I was trying to do so that it is totally automatic on and off. 🤙
@@ontherebel11 Beautiful, thank you. I may try and connect the power supply leads to the battery and just the acc lead to Thunderbox, in ‘theory’ I think that should work… thank you!
Hey Gus Really appreciate your guiding videos. Thank you for the efforts you are putting for the community. I've been thinking about Thunder Box. I'm worried about the terminals exposed to water while washing the motorcycle, or when it is raining. Any thoughts?
Hi cruisininRiyadh! Great to hear from you brother! That's a great question! Here's my experience so far, I rode for 2 days I'm the rain after installing the thunderbox without issue! After getting home and washing the bike with a power washer, I did have an issue with the thunderbox, but I think that it was related to me not using the right connectors called ferrules, I have since connected the cables to the thunderbox using ferrules, much more professional and secure. I haven't gotten wet to test them out though.... Fyi, the thunderbox was working fine and the fog lights came on, it was only the dashcam that was acting weird. I hope that helps bro. Probably best not to run water on the connectors if you plan on getting a thunderbox. This is what I used for the connectors KAIWEETS Ferrule Crimping Tool... www.amazon.com/dp/B0BQ6LQ12G?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Hi! That is correct, and it works like a charm after all this time! Such peace of mind when i start the bike and it comes on automatically and then shuts down by itself when i turn the engine off, i'm so happy that i added the thunderbox!
@@ontherebel11 awesome! that's good news. thanks for the video and tips on how you routed them. it's really helpful and clear. it's really a good solution asost modern bikes have little to no inderseat space anymore.

@@ontherebel11 may I ask how you wired the dash cam wires in the heal tech, f1 positive and acc wire into Tb green positive wire port and f1 negative wire into the black wired port correct? The Tb positive and negative wire connect to the battery terminal + and - correct?

I got mine connected directly to the battery but I am thinking about getting the Thunderbox because it is draining my battery (it doesn't turn off automatically), did you connected the acc cable to the same slot as the positive or did you occupied another slot for it? Thank you!
Hi there! Yes I connected it to the the same slot. I experimented both ways and it made no difference. It's so nice when it turns on and off automatically!
Hi there, yes, you can turn off the microphone as well as the speaker on the unit. You can remove the GPS, date time and speed stamp from the video. You can also remove the vantrue logo.

Hi, Question; how is the front lens holding up? (bugs, sand, rocks can easily damage it?) 2024 feb; Just got one for about $300us For me, the unit seems more worth like $200us something. CONS; -Regarding the memory card; Vantrue uses the FAT32 format, which is not secure and very old fashioned and limits files to 4GB and windows made partitions to 32GB. You can use micro SD card up to 512GB though. (512GB records about 28h of video (per minute; FRONT 4K=233MB and REAR 1080=74MB; together 307MB per minute)) -VLC player would NOT play any of the .MP4 files because of HVC1 video format. Win media player has no problems. -Rear camera cable could be a bit longer. Front camera cable is a fragile high speed data coax cable. -CPU unit is not really waterproof and a USB-C connection would be better than WIFI to your phone/laptop. (Who wants to watch the video stream while driving ???) -Feedback voice is a very annoying Chinese English tone with bad grammar -Camera's seem nice and solid, control box less so; very plastic-y -System has a 2 amp fuse; so uses about 25Watt, which is quite a LOT !! The front 4K camera and especially the CPU block gets a bit warm. For me; Video quality and anti vibration are good. In all; OK-ish. Thanks for your review!
Hi Peter! Thank you for your feedback with your unit, in my case the unit is still as good as day 1 and I have done a few long distance trips with mine, no scratches on the front camera at all, fyi I usually make it a habit to wipe the lenses when I stop for gas in case of bugs and dirt. 👍
Thanks!

Thank you T!!!!
Hey Gus
Really appreciate your guiding videos.

That’s me for the awesome review & giveaway
Hi! The yellow and red cable, did you connect it to the positive green terminal on the Thunderbox?
@@Rose__L I'm glad it was helpful, thank you for your feedback!!
Hey, thank you for the videos, I have venture f1 on order was also looking into ordering th heal tech unit too, what I wanted to ask is when the f1 is in parking mode and engine is off does the features work when the heal tech is connected. Thankyou
Hello! Unfortunately the parking mode will not work while using the thunderbox, you will have to connect the red wire to an acc live wire
@@ontherebel11 doesn't the f1 module have inbuilt battery Because the bike is off when parked?
@ESSA20 unfortunately it does not...
@@ontherebel11 so I guess I can't use the heal tech unit, so therefore il have to directly attach the acc cable.
@@ontherebel11 may I ask how you wired the dash cam wires in the heal tech, f1 positive and acc wire into Tb green positive wire port and f1 negative wire into the black wired port correct? The Tb positive and negative wire connect to the battery terminal + and - correct?
I would prefer one that dose full 4k and 1080p 60fps and image stabilization along AV1 or HEVC Encoding
That would be nice, not sure if that tech is available for dashcams yet.... I'm sure it will be in a couple of years
@@ontherebel11 There is one 4k 60fps called TYPE S S40 but not for motorcycle but only the Nextbase 622GW has image stabilization as far I know of and supposedly the Viofo A139 Pro has HEVC Encoding support but an easy option to enable.
Why did you wire the yellow accessory wire straight to the battery? Isn’t it supposed to go to switched power?
Hi Kerry, that is correct, I prefer not to splice into any cables to avoid future electrical issues
Vantrue F1
Goodluck !
Another amazing job
Thank you very much Mike!!! Wish you could have made it brother
@On the Rebel 11 me too. Just had surgery for some removal of kidney stones today so I'll out for at least 2 weeks.. :(
@@mikeriv oh man.... I'm sorry to hear that Mike
When hooking it up to the thunderbox, will it tamper with notion to alert the device if the bike was hit while parked and off?
unfortunately yes. To have that function active you have to connect it directly to the battery as well as splicing into an acc cable.
Okay, thank you
I got mine connected directly to the battery but I am thinking about getting the Thunderbox because it is draining my battery (it doesn't turn off automatically), did you connected the acc cable to the same slot as the positive or did you occupied another slot for it?
Thank you!
Hi there! Yes I connected it to the the same slot. I experimented both ways and it made no difference. It's so nice when it turns on and off automatically!
You forgot the link to the Facebook Group in the description 😜
Man! Thanks for looking out bro!!!
@@ontherebel11 Can you also post a link to the Thunderbox? That may help me with my issue where my battery died.

When you add the yellow wire to the positive battery terminal, doesn’t that drain the battery when the bike is turned off?
One question
With it wired to the thunder box, will the auto record still come on if someone hit your bike while it is parked?
Hi James, unfortunately it does not in the configuration I have it setup.....
Can I remove voices when I turn on the bike? can I also remove GPS information from video?
Hi there, yes, you can turn off the microphone as well as the speaker on the unit. You can remove the GPS, date time and speed stamp from the video. You can also remove the vantrue logo.
@@ontherebel11 Thank you so much!!
can't read any license plates.... wish these cameras would fix this issue.
It depends what you are watching the video on, you will have a better view is seen on a large screen. Also you can pause the raw footage and zoom in. It isn't great, but it is better than not having anything imo 👍

Very thorough and informative movie! I might add this dash cam on top of my Insta 360 solution. Watch my close call ruclips.net/video/b970c9s0zU0/видео.html It's good to see yet another Rebel 1100 user riding this incredible motorcycle. Greetings from Wisconsin!
Thank you very much for sharing your video! Wonderful job avoiding disaster! I used to have 2 cameras on while riding, but the gopros would run out of battery so quickly and it is such a pain to change batteries, especially since I ride for 10 hrs when I go... I started getting lazy and wouldn't change batteries... I feel so relieved not to have to worry about it anymore, the dashcam comes on automatically and never stops! Love this little thing! And the quality of the footage is very impressive! I was shocked!

Hi, Question; how is the front lens holding up? (bugs, sand, rocks can easily damage it?)
2024 feb; Just got one for about $300us For me, the unit seems more worth like $200us something.
CONS;
-Regarding the memory card; Vantrue uses the FAT32 format, which is not secure and very old fashioned and limits files to 4GB and windows made partitions to 32GB. You can use micro SD card up to 512GB though. (512GB records about 28h of video (per minute; FRONT 4K=233MB and REAR 1080=74MB; together 307MB per minute))
-VLC player would NOT play any of the .MP4 files because of HVC1 video format. Win media player has no problems.
-Rear camera cable could be a bit longer. Front camera cable is a fragile high speed data coax cable.
-CPU unit is not really waterproof and a USB-C connection would be better than WIFI to your phone/laptop. (Who wants to watch the video stream while driving ???)
-Feedback voice is a very annoying Chinese English tone with bad grammar
-Camera's seem nice and solid, control box less so; very plastic-y
-System has a 2 amp fuse; so uses about 25Watt, which is quite a LOT !!
@@ontherebel11 OK,thanks for your reply! Ride safely 🙂

Great, another camera for a bike with 300 feet of cable to put away 🤮🤮🤮🤮👎👎👎👎
An alternative to consider is an Insta 360 if you prefer, no cables involved. Many people use that option, quite effective. 👍
