    I had a previous on board dash cam but have several bikes so now use the Techalogic two way helmet cam. A mount on each helmet no cables, battery lasts about 2.5 to 3 hours, you can use a power bank as well. The footage is pretty good, only use it as a dash cam. I cycle as well and recently fitted it to my cycle helmet and was amazed by the change in driver behaviour with a big reduction in near passes especially from trucks.

    In short; OK-ish. I paid 290 euro begin 2024, the unit seems more like 200 euro something.
    ---According Vantrue, you regularly need to reformat the memory card. Vantrue uses the FAT32 format, which is not secure and very old fashioned and limits files to 4GB and windows made partitions to 32GB.
    ---It is impossible to get the original full size video files off the SD card, they can only be sent as a copy with reduced resolution; what the hell?!
    ---VLC player would NOT play any of the .MP4 files because of HVC1 video format. Win media player has no problems.
    ---You can use micro SD card up to 512GB though. (512GB records about 28h of video (per minute; FRONT 4K=233MB and REAR 1080=74MB; together 307MB per minute))
    ---Rear camera cable could be a bit longer. Front camera cable is a very special fragile high speed data coax cable. BE CAREFULL!
    ---CPU unit is not really waterproof and a USB-C connection would be better and much faster (Only WIFI to your phone/laptop possible. Who wants to watch the video stream while driving ???)
    ---Feedback voice is a very annoying Chinese English tone with bad grammar and difficult to understand.
    ---Camera's seem nice and solid, control box less so; very plastic-y
    ---System has a 2 amp fuse; so could use about 25Watt, which is quite a LOT !!
    ---The CPU gets quite warm during use, especially in summer.

      @zyghom Месяц назад

      excellent summary,
      with 2A fuse I would not make any problem - you can always have a spike (i.e. to charge capacitors) for a second or so - who would like to put 0.5A and have to change it every now and then

    Thanks, a well timed video (both from yourself and RUclips in showing it in my feeds) Been looking at bike camera options. Had sort of settled on the K5 (Innov) but wasn't taken-as you mention too- with the bulky front camera/DVR setup versus the more discreet camera setup of the K3 but then you don't have 4K....
    The F1 pretty well addresses most of my issues, they seem to have achieved 4K with a remote camera when Innov claimed cable capacity was a constraint albeit the F1 doesn't support 60fps ( there is the argument that higher rate albeit lower res reduces number plate blur at speed ) which might be a small negative for some wanting high grade "movie" footage. Not an issue for me as I just want a dashcam primarily. Minor items? one reviewer has already rounded out the card slot cover screws, early K5's had similar screws which were quickly upgraded to thumb screws so a potential remedy here too. The remote is sensitive to how you mount it as going by the manual your's has the microphone on the leading edge as fitted so probably picking up much more wind noise that way ( but appreciate you had done a temporary test setup) I suppose too long term reliability is a present unknown but anyway enough prattle from me, I'm away to order one!

      I bought what I thought was the best bike camera system a few years back (INNOVV K1) but it was totally unreliable. Even flashing the headlight would cause the camera to reboot. I then moved to a Amazon GoPro copy which was so much more reliable than the INNOVV but that was easily pinched from the bike. Three years ago I bought a VSYSTO B6 camera, it was aroudn £100 for a dual cam setup. It's been absolutely faultless. So if you're after a sensibly priced dual camera setup that runs from a USB socket give VSYSTO a try.

May have to switch the gsensor off if the Red emergency record light comes on over bumps , but velcro used under the pillion seat area so will see how it goes . More than happy with the F1 hence I fitted it properly today . You have several options, with the innov k2 that was on the bmw, it ws powered by the hex ezcan, which meant the unit was only ever powered when the ignition was on. To utilise the parking crash detection modes the unit has to have power to wake it up and this is where the yellow accessory cable comes in. So you can simply use the hex ezcan and plug red black and yellow into one of the plugs and lose the detection function or go red black to the battery and yellow to a switched live feed, in my case I have done this to the bmw and utilised a brown a blue wire that is in a plug at the base of the tank under the seat. Hi. I have been in contact with Vantrue. Shouldn't be a deal breaker, but they have not yet fixed the problem of one of the settings, which you can select from your phone in the set up. Basically you alter many things on the device. One is sensitivity to "g", used when you are ridding along and if someone collides with you, the video file is saved on a different section of the sd card, which cannot then be overwritten . I have turned this function off as it was activating over every bump in the road, which meant that you could run out of loop video storage as everything could possibly be stored to the safe side of the sd card. Resulting in the sd card becoming full. Reality is it isn't an issue IMHO.
      It's a very good product. Download speed from the device to your phone for storage is slow.....it will take about 1 min 30 seconds for a 4 minute 4k front video..... But you can always remove the sd card (fiddly)and insert into your laptop etc for faster download. At the end of the day I use mine for evidential recording and nothing else. Hope this helps. Regards Paul

      @2BeAll4it 11 месяцев назад

      @@gsd32i thanks Paul. Highly appreciated your feedback. I agree, no deal breaker „as long this function can be switched off!”. I doubt that in case of a crash the capacity of the SD might be too small so that the incident will be overwritten… that means the motorcycle needs to be continuously running for quite some time, correct!?
      I really like the feature you pointed out, when a sudden power loss scenario occurs that the main unit keeps itself alive for a moment to safely store the last file…

    I've been considering the K3 but, having watched your video, I'm now thinking I'll get a F1. Apparently, Innovv integrate the camera into the 'DVR' lump of their K5 because a sufficiently high data rate can't be achieved for 4K via a cable. So I wonder what the data rate is, for the F1's 4K. I don't like the K5's lump. Whatever, hopefully the F1's 4K will still be better than the K3's 1080, even if its using a lower data rate than the K5. There seems to be some confusion about whether it's the yellow or red wire which is the 'ACC' (switched live) wire; other reviewers have connected the yellow as the permanent live, and the red as the switched.

    • @gsd32i
      @gsd32i  Год назад +3

      Hi. I have now done a full install onto my GS as a I am more than pleased with the footage from the 4k camera. Yes there is no image stabilisation , but the quality is still more than usable even for your videos. My k2 1080p was pretty poor tbh and only good enough for" they pulled out in front of me officer" footage. The yellow wire on mine is the trigger wire and labelled as such. Only main issue I have noticed is the camera records onto the emergency side when I go over a bump , as though it thinks it's involved in an accident. I have contacted vantrue about this as I have changed the g sensor settings in the app and it makes little or no difference to the sensitivity . Not a major issue as I have now deactivated the crash g sensor via the app. The video still records all the time , on the normal looping side of the sd card ,which can be overwritten when it runs out of space, footage on the emergency side is safe and cannot be overwritten , so if you don't format your card frequently I suspect that you could run out of looping space and be left with NO space to record the dog running out in front of you which caused the crash!!!!!!!so thats why I deactivated it. vantrue said that was what it was supposed to do this for potholes and things, which I find not ideal. Not big deal and the unit fits nicely on my gs and now works great with the g sensor switched off and if I see something I want to record to the safe side I just press the emergency button and voila its safe. So I am pleased with the F1 , hopefully a software update may sort the g thing out. Strange that no other RUclipsrs who were sent the unit didn't have this problem or they did and didn't highlight it. Nice bit of kit 👍 wow that was a lot answer.....

I haven't looked / probed yet, so it may be obvious, but thought I'd ask in the meantime (you say "a blue a brown" in another comment - did you mean "blue *and* brown"?). Also, did you use a fuse in the yellow wire? I'm not sure whether the switched live being tapped would already be fused / fused correctly. Presumably, whatever bike circuit it is, it will be fused with a fuse of some value or other. The manual for the camera indicates a 3A fuse in this wire; I think I'll fit a 1A. I can't imagine how you must be inside the house honey why don't we pull the car apart make a video and try and put it together. I had a neighbor that was constantly screwing with things until he ruined them i dubbed him the fiddler. I saw him ruin a 90000 dollar pickup constantly screwing with it. Want his email maybe you 2 can start a new trend for people that just quit screwing with things :)

      Hi Andy , rear 1080 is ok (ish) front is more than adequate and without image stabilisation I would say it’s very good all things said . 👍
