I'm Italian and my friend is a breeder, the way she says she grooms her lagotti romagnoli (actual plural for lagotto romagnolo) is this: do the body as a wheaten terrier (I suppose pet trim) and the head as a bichon, taking into consideration that the coat texture is very peculiar and usually this dogs are not supposed to be perfectly brushed out, they should be a very rustic breed. I hope this helps in any way.

The go pro doesn't pick up your voice well. It's hard to hear what your saying. I like your other camera much better! And your other camera can zoom in to show detail. Just my opinion. Love you Dede! Great job handling this newbie!

Ah, they can be a little prickly , touchy, especially under 1 year old, but they calm out a little after that. Normally its a very docile breed anyway, that love to follow orders. It's like the italian version of the golden retriver, great family dog, easy to train, very joyful with everyone but sometimes grumpy (like us italian) xD
I prefer the other camera. This one seems a bit quiet, though if it's easier for you go for it. No need to make your job harder because of us. Side note, I watch your videos because it's satisfying for me to see the dogs go home all nice and tidy XD I put your videos on after work and apparently it relaxes me because I always end up snoozing and then I have to go re watch haha!

I would use the go pro for Point of view shots using a head mount but only for shots where you are not moving your head as much. The camera you normally use is much better for your wider shots as well as the audio is better. You could also try mounting the GoPro to the bar that holds the groom loop so that when you are grooming down the back we can really get in their and see what you see. Or you could send it to me and I can get some great shots of me trying not to get bucked off of my crazy horse!

I agree with a lot of the peoples comments. I do like the GoPro better on certain things but I like the other camera overall. Audio I suggest maybe wearing a microphone for us to hear better when using the GoPro.
Another great groom. Please do us a favor and ditch the Go-Novice camera. Can't hear you, warped walls & doors and poor resolution all make this a bad choice. Your other camera footage looks so much more professional.
It was too quiet, so hard to hear. I had my sound at 100% and still it was too difficult. I just had to skip to see general progression of the groom. Doing that however I missed valuable info from you. The dog looked so good at the end. Well done!!

Dede... I have an elderly dachshund poodle mix at home , 16 with mild dementia... He loved grooming in his younger years but now he tries to bite when he gets tired of it.. I don't mind being bitten but do u have any advice for grooming at home? Good positions, tactics, etc?? ... Don't care what he looks like just want to take off as much as possible!

But now they are used as truffle hunters, actually they are the only breed in the world specialized in that. They are great hard-working dog, beside truffles hunting they can do every dog's sport, from agility, to obidence or dog dance. They are very easy to train, full of energy and intelligence (for example, lagottos love food, so while I was cooking mine jump on top of the dinning table, as soon as I get out of the kitchen to scold him he run through my legs and grab a carrot from the working table. He tricked me!)
the "purple comb" is and "A" comb.. which is the next one longer than a 0. so you did an 0 body with and A legs.. they are "slightly longer" all of the combs are 1/8 of an inch apart in length. customers can defintely tell though.
In my own experiennce Lagotto Romagnolo are very one person dogs, though it's usually easier when they're puppies. But when they find their person, that's the person they're "good" dogs with :) I'm only 5 min in to the video and the sound ect with this camera video isn't good. From a european view your pronounciation of the breed lightned up my day

The gopro might be neat on the actual arm of the grooming table. There it would give a closer picture and pick up voice better as well.

Also they REALLY love food, i know that every dog likes food, but Lagotto Romagnolo are the ones that love it the most.

My hearing is bad and my eyes aren't as good anymore. I would like to have seen and heard more of this grooming. Unfortunately it's not possible. 😟

Sound is very distant and indistinct with the GoPro... I think if you are going to use it you may have to use a BlueTooth Mic....
