    thanks for the video, I have to build a roof over my front door as it has the same problem, I'll be replacing the door and frame and I think though. You've given me a few ideas though regarding the guttering and potentially replacing the fanlight with a nice panel.

      Thanks 👍 Yep Leeds, 36yrs now I've been doing it, lucky to be taught by the old school type joiners n tried to work for the 'better' firms when i was on site, if i don't know something i want to know, set your standards high then if you fail to reach that at least you'll do a good job n ya never stop learning,

      Thanks Louie, I try to just show it how it is, when's your new toy coming? 😊
      i really don't like rot repairs so the next vids which I'll have out by the weekend show some basic joinery 😁

      @@Gidjoiner I am looking forward to your next video, honest joinery like yours is comfortable to watch, well the Kapex 60 is coming maybe Friday, I need to update my RUclips channel with the new toys that I have been blessed with, I have changed the whole layout of the workshop so maybe a new workshop tour, I'd love you to do one mate, regards Louie

    • @Gidjoiner
      @Gidjoiner  5 лет назад +1

      I think that's what i'm trying to put across, not all joinery is in massive workshops with £1000s of tools,
      You'll have the weekend to play then 😀
      work surfaces all at the same height 😉 my tablesaw bed is about 18mm lower than the bench along the wall, that's why my cross cut sled has layers of board on it to build it up, real pain in the neck sometimes cutting wide boards that catch on the junction to the bench, one day I'll rebuild it, you've seen the state of it in there, imagine the disruption it would make, it'd take me a day to clear it to make adjustments 🤣 I've plans to extend out back, make a longer bench for the Kapex i'll do it then.

      @@Gidjoiner your skills are very impressive buddy, the porch roof is first class work, I am sure you will get your shop into order, my problem is space, the workshop is only 16 by 11 so every inch of space is important, the ,big sip10 table saw sits about one quarter of an inch above the work benchs so I can feed longer lengths in and out, the assembly table I have built in the new workshop acts as an out feed table, I have a stressful job and so I enjoy the workshop, it's a kinda getaway for me, three daughters and one wife, responsible high pressure job so the woodwork is a great escape, yes hopefully the saw arrives on Friday, I was reading many reviews and there is so many people that have a problem with festool and bent their hatred on the forums but I value Peter Parrifit and his view praises both festool 120 and 60 very highly!

      @@Gidjoiner hi there pal, I hope you are well, the Festool Kapex 60 arrived on Thursday and I have to say so far, I am very pleased, your video focused my choice, when you used your kapex to make a shallow cut then a full cut and the result was a clean flat precision cut, I tried this with the 60 and the same, and it has only got the 36tooth blade, I imagine with a 70tooth blade it will be stunning, so a big thank u 4 your video, now it the Kapex motor doesn't let me down then this will be a great saw, regards Louie from Northern Ireland Ulster Workshop
