DJ had 21 passing attempts for 99 yards. First time in Giants history a QB had at least 20 passing attempts with under 100 yards. Giants also had 3 rushing attempts for 4 yards in the first half. Questionable gamelan. Especially considering Andrew Thomas is out and we knew the pass protection was going to be bad. Meanwhile Saquon played 3 quarters and still single handedly outgained our offense by about 50 yards. 😑 I would love to hear the convo between Schoen and Mara after the game. 😬
There are two VERY important things to talk about. No one is talking about it... First... The route concepts are absolute garbage.. The offensive scheme as a whole really is trash. It's either some ridiculously long developing crossing route, some sort of ridiculously obvious pre-snap motion into a flat route paired with clear outs that aren't part of the progression, or it's a bunch of hank - where all 5 receivers run to a defender and stop..... Here is why I'm really really frustrated with this.... in almost every situation, it only LEAVES one real option. You ever watch the giants film, and all of the defense kind of just chills when the ball is snapped?... this is why. There is no reason to move. Half the time - the receiver runs right to a defender and stops (why move).. the other half of the time, the vertical route is not part of the progression - so you can ignore it. and then for the random time where there is actually a longer route... well - you already know it's coming because it's been part of the giants film for 3 years... but guess what?... play number 1 in todays game.. was a literal line up, and run a straight forward play that ATTACKS the defense. and guess what, it worked... Which leads me to point number 2.... Play breakdowns... when the plays that I previously mention breakdown, does ANYONE see these receivers and get infuriated? .. They just jog in the general direction the QB is running. They don't try to break off their defender, they don't try to find open space... to them the play is over... Which leads me to point number 3: The WR coach..... wtf is he coaching these guys? Why in the world are the receivers running TO the defender and stopping, they need to threaten the defender. There is no easier job of covering someone who runs right to you... but if you attack the leverage and the open space, well now they have to react. I'm just so utterly disgusted with the dumpster fire.. and yeah - Daniel Jones, let's talk about it. He's inconsistent at best, backup qb at worst.. but when you watch what happens when he is gone, it's like he is a miracle worker... At least he is firing the deep shots, even if he isn't connecting, I like that he is taking chances. The real. cold. hard. ugly. fucking. truth. That no one wants to admit, there just isn't a lot conceptually to work with. Combine that with DJ's limited post snap skillset... you're fucked. I mean come on.. everyone says he's a 1 read QB, so you what... give him one read??? ... okay - so what you're really saying is - give the defense something obvious to guard. I do not buy that shit. At all. What comes first the chicken or the egg? If he's only got one read by design... does that mean he is staring down his read? or does that mean the offense is hamstrung by a poor design and no one really has a chance. If I see that stupid left to right double motion in the backfield one more time - I'm just gonna call it quits and watch 80's giants reruns on repeat this year.
Jones is accurate on the 0-3 yard pass. I also did not care for the pass routes and plays called. Not sure why the Giants abandoned the run from the get go, but so be it. With the ease with which the Eagles moved the ball on the porous Giant's Defense, you knew Jones, who has throughout his entire career has been challenged to put the ball in the end zone, was not going to get it done this game either. Maybe Robinson can drop a few more on his way out the door and has Hyatt even caught a pass this season. A house of cards is the Giant's offensive line. Take the one big card out and everything collapses.
Jones can’t escape the pocket when it breaks, constantly always moving to where DL are and gets himself sack. And of course Josh is just not meant to be a LT. Seeing this really hurts and we still have a lot of games to go before the season is over. Also that flag on Theo was trash, should had been a TD.

Giants offense is a mess Daniel Jones can’t read a defense and he doesn’t release the ball quick enough so he gets sacked. And the Giants wide receivers drop way too many passes which is why they don’t score any points
You read the stats and it just looks terrible, then you watch the game like this and wasn’t like he was missing throws left and right or throwing pics or anything like that… this is one of the few “solid excuse” games that I’ll give Daniel Jones… But I still believe the Giants need to get someone else
Jones no longer looks very athletic running, certainly lacking a burst of acceleration. He also contributed to several of the sacks, because he holds the ball too long, fails to see the entire field, does not go through his progressions as good QB's all do, and has horrible pocket presence.
Games for the giants are won in the trenches Danny tried his best we lead the league in drop balls need to execute like prosdo your job at a high level
Fire Joe Schoen. This team isn't worth watching anymore and it's not even the end of October (again). He can't evaluate talent properly if he thought DJ was the answer at any point.

Most of those sacks can be attributed to the QB for not getting rid of the ball. Only 2 of the sacks were on the O-line and 1 on Tracey
