    After much research, I figured out lots of my favorite tunes recorded by white fiddlers came from black fiddler Cuje Bertram and there were way more black fiddle players than black banjo players back then. Most old time banjo players had a black mentor as well though.

      @@xanther97 I really enjoy the history of the music and as a beginning fiddler picked up some useful information. At 67 it's a tough slog but I am determined.
