For those seasoned Hawaii travelers, share your tips for visiting Oahu below! I'm sure you have some nuggets to share. Mahalo for watching and have a wonderful and safe vacation in 2023.
Shoots, ok, we lived in Pearl City and went to school and worked around Waikiki and Ala Moana. I'll start with some ono grinds 🤙. Baked Manapua from Royal Kitchen, Portuguese Omelette Sandwich at Zippys, Malasadas from Leonards. While on Kapahulu Ave go to the new Wailoa shave ice, get mung beans and mochi. Or be super akamai (smart) and go to the original Wailoa on Wailoa street. Check out the food court at Ala Moana and grab take out, for da beach or hale (house, home). Zippys is a classic favorite of the kama'aina, for da comfort foods🤙🤗

I’m really glad I found you guys, I’m planning a trip to Hawaii in September 2024. It’s nice to have people who have lived there explain the best places to go. Originally wanted to go to Maui but I don’t think I can afford it so I’ll probably do Oahu :)
GREAT video for the tourist. With a thorough knowledge of the island, I can confirm your thoroughness and any first time traveler would be pleased following your recommendations. Great job guys!
I am planning to go next week, so I started doing my research, your video was the first one recommended, now I see why !! Thank you so much, you are doing a great job ! Cheers
Second trip next week- our tips: Paddleboarding and outrigger rides are fun at Waikiki- boat meets right outside Outrigger Reef to offer snorkel and catamaran tour- saw lots of turtles just off shore of Waikiki. If you can, rent rooms at Aulani from DVC owner- includes parking and usually 50% off discounted rates compared to booking direct- there is a secret beach not far from Aulani- turtles there, too. Steak shack just beach side of HIlton Hawaiian Village is a great meal. Love Duke's prime rib and salads- book a reservation within 30 day window. Watch the man lighting tiki torches along Waikiki- lasts about 2 hours. Free Hawaiian music/dancers - Royal Hawaiian Band- catch their performances- go to their website. Still looking for the best luau- hear the one at military only resort is great! We dont qualify😫
Planning a visit for 2 weeks end of this month. Looking forward to enjoying my time there and learnin more than I have just passing through! Thanks for your videos!!
I’m guessing you already went but if you ever come back to Hawaii you should come to Maui. There’s tons of beautiful places to visit here. My wife and I just moved here from Colorado 7 months ago to be with her family and there’s so many places with natural beauty. Iao valley, Haleakala, twin falls in Haiku, Hana, tons of beautiful beaches, the lavender farm, and cool forest hikes in Makawao where we live. The forest here in Makawao actually reminds me of being in the mountains in Colorado.
Wow, another great video, you guys do such a great job of representing the beauty of O'ahu. It was a journey down memory lane and a planner for our upcoming return. Mahalos!!!

@@alinelachance9800 just spent 4 days in Honolulu this past weekend, masks are rare. Mostly workers and citizens wear them. Every business I visited did NOT enforce them. Try eating at Foodland Farms, great Poke bowls for cheap!
I want to visit Hawaii, but I am afraid of lizards and Iguanas. Is there a best town or island to visit in Hawaii that I won’t see them much or at all, or should I skip Hawaii if I’m afraid of them?
Loving your videos!! We are planning a trip next winter. Only thing I’m worried about is how family friendly are the beaches in terms of other visitors and their bathing suits?? Does everyone wear thongs on the beaches? Coming from a province where we are land locked and wear winter gear for 6 months of the year, we would find that so uncomfortable and worry about our kids.
It is fashionable now to wear those smaller bathing suits. You will find folks wearing them on the beaches. Visit the smaller beaches if you don't want to see them. See our best beaches article here: thehawaiivacationguide.com/best-beaches-on-oahu-hawaii/
@@TheHawaiiVacationGuide if we visited beaches earlier in the morning would that also help as well? We'll be staying close to Waikiki beach, but we are early risers. If we visit early in the AM are the beaches more quiet?
I goto Hawaii 3 times a year Oahu thou it’s my least favorite island it’s real touristy. There’s a couple favorites I have best pancakes I ever tasted across the street from Waikiki beach on the corner across from Honolulu zoo lulus!! The mochi pancakes are the best pancakes I ever had I didn’t even need syrup. I like Moana falls hike and then swim n the water fall
oh wow, do you have family there? I am thinking of going there solo and it’s my first time- which place would you recommend for a week- looking for a mix of quiet and touristy- balanced. (quiet person but dont wanna feel isolated or be too overwhelmed with kids and people). will appreciate your tips.

@@alinelachance9800 just spent 4 days in Honolulu this past weekend, masks are rare. Mostly workers and citizens wear them. Every business I visited did NOT enforce them. Try eating at Foodland Farms, great Poke bowls for cheap!
Hi! New to your channel… We’re planning on staying at the Sheraton Waikiki in a few months. Have you ever stayed there???
We haven’t as we like the sister hotel of Royal Hawaiian. Sheraton Waikiki is a great location with great pools. You’ll enjoy it!

Is 4 day enough for Oahu?
For a quick, relaxing vacation! Don’t jam too much into your four days.
If you stay at Ko’olina and the winds shift you might get a whiff of the landfill
Is it illegal to bring non mineral sunscreen into Hawaii? There are a couple of days we plan not to be in the ocean.
It isn’t illegal. Banned sunscreen can’t be sold/distributed on the islands.
This is probably the safest state in the US
what about tips flying drones in hawaiii oahu
Oahu is tough due to the many no fly zones with the airports and military. having a drone license is recommended for safety
I want to visit Hawaii, but I am afraid of lizards and Iguanas. Is there a best town or island to visit in Hawaii that I won’t see them much or at all, or should I skip Hawaii if I’m afraid of them?
there are small lizards on the sidewalks on all the islands, especially in the resort areas where it is warmer.
can you do an updated video on how to find cheap flights to oahu?
Don’t know where you live but Southwest has sales every 2-3 months.
we will do a Short on it! there are a lot of good deals right now but the lodging rates are what gets ya
Hello everyone I am, going to Oahu for first time may 2024 do you guys have tips for first timer
Yes! Plenty of great tips here: thehawaiivacationguide.com/planning-a-trip-to-hawaii/
Are you recomende go to haway for vacation ?
If we visit early in the AM are the beaches more quiet?
yes, get there before 10 am for less people.
Are you sponsored?
Condolulu.
I like Moana falls hike and then swim n the water fall
thanks for sharing! Oahu is touristy in Waikiki but we still like what it offers. Especially for a first visit.
oh wow, do you have family there?
I am thinking of going there solo and it’s my first time- which place would you recommend for a week- looking for a mix of quiet and touristy- balanced. (quiet person but dont wanna feel isolated or be too overwhelmed with kids and people). will appreciate your tips.
😂😢😮😅😊

I see that some people are wearing masks. Is that something we should pack?
They aren’t required. They are a personal choice and most people don’t wear them.
