I get that they want to live the hoop star life and make the big bucks like the nba players do, but sometimes it's better to just be a pioneer of the game. The pioneers of the wnba may not make money like the nba but they will be recorded in history as the women that had to sacrifice the pay in order to build the brand and lay the foundation for future women to have the opportunity. If Draymond supposedly cares so much about the WNBA then giving up a little bit of money shouldn't be a big deal then. If you don't want to give any of your salary to them then your words are empty. The WNBA could definitely use more money to keep more athletes from going overseas and to get better sponsorship deals for TV. It's actually quite difficult to even find a WNBA game on TV to begin with. If they are losing athletes and they can't get on TV how the hell are they supposed to make a profit?

Yeah, female supermodels makes so much more money than male counterpart, it’s free market at work. If WNBA can bringing in billions and billons each year, they will be paid accordingly.

Someone in these comments mentioned the fact that it was crazy how immediately when Draymond spoke up, you could see the fear in Lisa’s eyes. I honestly believe the reason for that is because she knows that as much as people dislike Draymond he easily is one of the top supporters and promoters for the WNBA. Quick summary of what she said:
"Not only do we expect you (NBA players) to cheer us on but we also want your money" 🤡
They already make 6 figures which should be enough. Better than half the working force of America
" you already subsidized the entire league and make it possible for us to make a goddamn nickel but we see you over there making tens of Millions so why don't you give us some of that too. Spend a couple less nights in the casino and let us spend a couple more nights playing some super shitty and sloppy basketball."
Smh
If Draymond supposedly cares so much about the WNBA then giving up a little bit of money shouldn't be a big deal then. If you don't want to give any of your salary to them then your words are empty. It's just like in real life what good is support if you don't give up something to show how much you care? The fact that he said this shows that he really doesn't care at all. Is it the NBA players responsibility to donate and support the WNBA? No. However don't act like you want to do everything you can to support them but then you have zero desire to open your checkbook. The WNBA could definitely use more money to keep more athletes from going overseas and to get better sponsorship deals for TV. It's actually quite difficult to even find a WNBA game on TV to begin with. If they are losing athletes and they can't get on TV how the hell are they supposed to make a profit?
@AM19 The fact women leagues make a profit overseas and are fairly popular disproves that people wouldn't want to watch. I think the NBA over the years has done a bad job advertising for the WNBA. Nonetheless, even if they are not profitable they could easily continue to support them so avg pay is 200000 and have billions left over. I don't think they should get millions. Obviously that's ridiculous. However, they should get enough so we can stop losing are best athletes to Europe. That part of the reason why the play is so bad. A handful of the best players don't play in the WNBA. And why should they? The check is overseas. Thus pay the athletes more!
Bill Burr’s skit about the WNBA was hilarious because it was 100% true. They should have had him on that panel. It would have been EPIC!

@@mshell1959Charities don’t lose $10m every year they are in existence over a 26 year period.
I think it’s the fact that their salaries are hardly livable. It’s not fair that women who attained the highest level in basketball only get to live paycheck to paycheck. They still have to practice and play almost everyday and put their bodies on the line for a sport. If they bump up the salaries it might actually incentivize women to consider it as a viable career path. Even other professions get paid not based on how much money they bring. A company still in its early stages will pay its engineers and management a 6 figure salary while being negative in profit. Otherwise they would have to leave to work elsewhere. Look at how little incentive to play in the all star game there is in the NBA and how unentertaining it is to watch it.

*THEY MAINLY LIKE TO SEE WELL BUILT MEN IN FORM FITTING UNIFORMS SWEATING IT UP*- 40%
*A BONDING THING WITH THE MAN IN THEIR LIVES* (she's watching and going to the games because YOU love it) - 25%
*(ATTENDING GAMES) TO SEE AND BE SEEN* (treating it like any happening in their town) - 10%
