To be fair though part of the reason it was on the verge of bankruptcy is because only two or three teams were ever good and they were in big cities so roughly 90% of the country knew their local team couldn't compete with the big city teams in New York, L.A or Boston. Once revenue sharing became a thing and every team had the money to spend on good players the league took off and more than just LA and Boston could afford good players

I think Tracy had the best suggestion about lowering the rim. The basketball is already smaller than men’s basketball. There aren’t as many tall women in WNBA as NBA. The average vertical leap of women is no where near that of NBA players. Tracy was spot on with his suggestion. What does the WNBA have to lose if they try it? The league needs a jump start in entertainment valu and I think it’s the only way to get more viewership. Any thoughts?
My thought is that the owners/league should just do it and stop asking the women whether they like the idea or not. How would they like the idea of not getting paid until the league turns a profit?????

I also feel the marketing needs to shift to focus on marketing to the community most prevalent with players and those who attend the games currently. Merchandise, market the players. Engage the upcoming players early, high school and college women players.

That reminds me of when my friends and I, all white guys, played on a low rim. That was fun. I felt like Charles Barkley out there. I completely match the stereotype that white guys can't jump. So, lower the rim and the game will be more exciting.

One thing I never hear about this issue is that they never ask the fans what they want. They never ask bball fans what would make them watch the wnba. I’d watch it if there had a talent like steph in there. I don’t even care about the dunks but it would be nice get some more of that too.

It might have something to do with the fact they can’t hit a freaking shot. I watched about 5 minutes of a game recently and saw like 30 bricks, 15 air balls, and maybe a couple made shots. It was 3rd quarter and one of the teams only had 16 points. This is the so called improved talent that Lisa Leslie claims the league has. They are also televised on local channels but who wants to watch a dumpster fire. These ladies are delusional! 😂
