    Something I'm wondering about is the quality of the planar drivers themselves in the Maxwell. I was thinking about EQing them, would I be able to make them sound great in every way for what I like in a sound profile? For example, if I wanted to make them sound like the pair of headphones I was thinking of getting originally the HER9 by Hifiman? Thanks!

    • @ryanhostudio
      @ryanhostudio  Год назад +3

      they havent released the software yet for EQ, but it should look alot like the one they have for audeze penrose I would imagine. But it will allow you to tune the headphone to your liking.
      Sounding exactly like another headphone might be a stretch, because there are other factors in play like shape of cup, drivers and etc

    I don't think you are supposed to plug the Maxwell or Penrose (Orbit) into a DAC/ Amp because they already have them built in. I heard it could damage them.

    • @ryanhostudio
      @ryanhostudio  Год назад +1

      it’s only if turn them too loud on amplifier. what i do is turn the headset amplifier to max before i even turn the amplifier dial, that way it prevents me from overloading it
      if you plug maxwell 3.5mm into a pc, switch, phone, controller those are all dac amps….i think they are just worried about the crazy audiophiles who turn the knob to max volume on high gain and break it which is fair point

    is Audeze m100 sound better than lcd 2 or lcd gx?
    Thank you

    • @ryanhostudio
      @ryanhostudio  8 месяцев назад +1

      problem with older audeze headphones like the lcd-2 and gx is there upper midrange tuning is very dipped, which makes vocal sound kind of muffled and not detailed. The mm-100 has much more presence in that region and sounds much more natural and better to me

      can you compare them to m500 and arya/he1000 last version? is it huge jump. which 1 of three you recommend first.

      @@yooanto9465 if you have the budget i would definitely recommend the mm-500 if you want a really nice sounding and tuned headphone. I am not a fan of arya series, the he1000 stealth magnet is the best version and i would only recommend that one if you tried it first and its not too bright for you. The MM-500 is a no brainer choice in my opinion

  • @SammyTabGuy
    @SammyTabGuy Месяц назад

    hey just a warning, DO NOT plug the maxwell into a DAC. It's gonna damage the internals and Audeze already has a built-in DAC in the maxwell so any more amplification besides its optimized specs are gonna damage it

  • @NyteStalker89
    @NyteStalker89 5 месяцев назад

    headset = has mic attached to the unit. Headphone = no mic attached to the unit from the factory. Sennheiser is more audiophile than Hifiman.. just sayin. Also. DO NOT PLUG wireless Audeze gaming headsets into a DAC/AMP. They have their own dual amp setups in the earcups and plugging them into something that is also applying power to the unit is going to lead to some major issues over time.

  • @Bennyblades44

    Hey not to knock your review but I’m 99% positive plugging in the Maxwell to a dac does nothing because there is a dac in the headphone. You can test this if they still need to be powered on and the eq still works while plugged into the wired dac. Maybe worth looking into a little more just to be sure your review is as accurate as possible. Great review and sweet collection!!

    • @ryanhostudio
      @ryanhostudio  Год назад +3

      hi it does have a dac inside which it uses during wired usb, bluetooth, and usb dongle mode. however wired 3.5mm it is using its built in amplifier and the conversion is done from the dac it’s plugged into.

    Does the cloud orbit s sound better with the DAC as well?

    • @ryanhostudio
      @ryanhostudio  Год назад

      it does however the biggest issue i found is the built in amplifier is a lot more noisy in the cloud orbit s so when you plugged it in 3.5mm alot of the time the noise floor was distracting.
      maxwell depending on volume level it’s either dead silent or a small hiss
