- Can you reuse a HPT pregnancy test? That is the question at hand. You may ask why would anyone even want to reuse a pregnancy test? Maybe you have been trying to conceive and realized your all out of tests. BUT you have a random old used one that you forgot to through out because you were hoping a second line would magically pop up. In this video I put a handful of commonly used tests to a RETEST! Tests used to prove current pregnancy: assured form the dollar tree. Tests reused: wandfo, first response, clinical guard, easy@home and new choice (also dollar tree brand) While I'm dipping sticks I added in a LH ovulation test just to see if stories were true. If you are pregnant an ovulation test will be blazing positive due to the test not being able to tell the difference between LH and HCG.

So far, late on AF and stuck inside two days from a snowstorm now, I'm going crazy. I didn't have any tests so I reused a few I boarded and kept in a baggie in case and all were negative, but can't be relied on, hence why I am here. I got all of the signs and I'm never late. Will buy a test if we can get out today. SOO excited for a natural BFP! Wish me luck!

You can’t reused them again simply because the ink went through the control line when you wasn’t pregnant there is no ink left to reuse it again

After the first dip into urine there's no dye left to reuse
Mines been more positive than that the test line can get noticeably darker than the control line mine was at 5 weeks
I found out I was pregnant with my last pregnancy on an opk on accident and i took 2 just to make sure it wasnt faulty and went to the store and bought 2 walmart 88 cent tests. I had really long cycles so I thought I would be ovulating, but I was pregnant! Lol! The test line on the opk popped up super dark before the control line even showed up.
For a positive on an ovulation test the lines need to be just about perfectly the same color if one is lighter it means you're not ovulating yet
Nicole Nelson yep absolutely correct. In this video the control line was lighter because the test line sucked up so much die. If the test line was lighter then it would indeed be negative :)
I've actually been doing ovulation test to show line progress. And they actually work.

I wouldn’t reuse it !
The problem is you are seeing an evap line. When it becomes wet again it shows up darker, even if u could not see it to start with.. This would have the same results if you used water
You meed to put the dye in the other end of test to reuse, The first time you use it the dye runs to other end
I've done it and it changed from negative to positive with my last 3 pregnancies.

Taking a ovulation test is how I found out I was pregnant with my daughter, I took it to see if I was ovulating and it came up positive so I'm like I'm gonna take a pregnancy test to wee if I'm pregnant and bam I was pregnant lol, my daughter about to br 6 months on the 15th of april
From ur testing it seems like it's just better to buy a new pregnancy test
You can reusue the first response digital test I took it on March the 5 and it said not pregnant then I took the battery out and put it back in and it actually showed yes
It's done that for me twice while I was definitely not pregnant
The reason they are negative is because the dye has already ran all the way through!
True I also replaced one of the dye stops and it still didn't work
I did it with my last 3 children and it changed from negative to positive.

That first line is the control line.
No it was the "T" which test side and the other was the "c" control line all my positives showed up boom like that too it was upside down. Sheesh lmao.

Ink runs through the test to mark the lines
They are used so there is no ink left, therefore you cannot reuse 🥺☺️😅

If you're meaning while it was still running through did it create a line and then disappear Yes. I have had that happen

Hi Florence it could be that you simply just skipped a period. It could be caused by stress or changes in your schedule. Your body may just be setting itself up for a new schedule. Or you could have ovulated late causing your period to be late but not yet able to show a positive test yet if u did get pregnant. Just some thoughts hope all is well and you have received your BFP :)

The reason why the ovulation test is positive is due to your progesterone being high due to being pregnant.

Yes I was pregnant. Dollar tree tests are good I was testing them to see if you could reuse them.
Lmao I often wondered this hahahahaha but I know its gotta be no. So answer being its not worth reusing. And yes before I even watch ovulation test can detect pregnancy although they're not recommended because they can't be fully trusted

I purposely did a hold to make sure my urine wasn't diluted so there would be a strong line if it were to work. Totally agree with you if this was regular I'd be concerned for how yellow it is :) Thanks for commenting :)
