  • On this day, Sunday, March 24th, 2024, I spent the day out with my Aunt Jo Ann, visiting the “Dallas Zoo”, and then the “Reunion Tower”.
It all began with me waking up, doing my morning routine, and then making my Aunt Jo Ann and Uncle Phil breakfast again, same thing as the day before…fried eggs, bacon, pancakes, jumbo double chocolate chip muffins, and yogurt bowls. After breakfast, I got dressed, prepared my bookbag, and Aunt Jo Ann and I began the 30-minute drive to the “Dallas Zoo”.
Upon arrival at the “Dallas Zoo” 30 minutes later, he scanned out tickets at the entrance, and we began our day there. First, I rode the carousel near the entrance complex, and then we began our journey via the zoo’s r left tunnel. The animals we saw in their respective exhibits included gorillas, vultures, elephants, giraffes, ostriches, lions, cheetahs, crocodiles, sloths, penguins, lemurs, chimpanzees, klipspringers, tigers, hippos, porcupines, storks, warthogs, African painted dogs, flamingos, ducks, naked mole rats, giant tortoises, salamanders, lizards, scorpions, spiders, tarantulas, toads, goats, llamas, parrots, macaws, various other birds in an aviary, and an assortment of snakes in a reptile house.
When we saw the giraffes, I partook in a giraffe feeding activity, and it was very unique to feed them. For lunch, we went to the “Prime Meridian Cafe”, a large cafe restaurant in the center of the zoo. I had a double cheeseburger and some fries, along with a lemonade to drink. For dessert, I got a soft-serve vanilla ice cream cone from a nearby snack stand near the children’s zoo.
After riding a small train ride there, we left at around 2:00pm and walked to the zoo’s “DART” train station, and then we took a train from there, to the “Reunion Tower” in Downtown, Dallas. Upon arrival at the station, we took an underground tunnel to the hotel complex surrounding the tower, and we went to the check in area. We showed our tickets, got checked in, went through the security checkpoint, and then we got into the elevator, all before finally beginning the ride up to the observation deck at the top. My Aunt Jo Ann and I spent an hour or so up there on that deck.
It was very high, at a height of 561 feet, so it made for some amazing footage and camera shots I got of not only the inside of the observation deck, but also the outside balcony part of the deck, including amazing close-up shots of the surrounding area of Downtown Dallas. I even zoomed in on a touring bounce house event called “Bounce America”, and it looked in incredible. The gift shop downstairs as undergoing a refurbishment, so they’re brought the gifts up to the observation deck to sell. I did buy 2 gifts from there, both for my mom.
After over an hour, we took the elevator back down to the bottom, and then went back to the “DART” station via the tunnel, and took the next train back to the “Dallas Zoo”, and then we made a quick stop in the zoo’s gift shop. After buying a gift for me, we both left the “Dallas Zoo” and took the car back to the house. Once back at the house, Uncle Phil went to a local “Pizza Hut” to pick up dinner for us for that evening. It was another one of my meal requests for this trip, with the first one being "Whattaburger" the previous evening.
After a while, he came back, and we all sat down together, and enjoyed a dinner consisting of a large cheese-stuffed cruse pizza with half cheese and half pepperoni and bacon (for Aunt Jo Ann and I), a medium thin-crust cheese pizza (for Uncle Phil), and an order of breadsticks. After we ate and after putting the leftovers in the fridge, Aunt Jo Ann and I went off to a frozen yogurt place for dessert, located within an outdoor strip mall complex.
After making a quick stop at a grocery store to buy me 2 snacks for my flight home the next day, we went to a frozen yogurt place called "Yougurtland Dallas". Aunt Jo Ann and I each had a different variety of flavors and toppings, but I can't remember what they were now. :( Oh well, too bad! Anyways, we then went back home, and then all watched the "Disney Pixar" movie, "Soul" together as our final movie together on the trip.
After the movie ended, I then packed up most of my luggage for tomorrow, and did my nighttime routine, all before going to bed, as I had a huge day ahead of me.
Stay tuned for the final video of this series very soon!
