- There is a story circulating among the researchers of the Akademiya:
Once, a researcher who ran afoul of the Akademiya fled into the desert and fell into a deep sand pit because he was unfamiliar with the harsh environment.
Thirsty and exhausted, he prayed for a noble savior to save him from his predicament.
So, the General Mahamatra who has been tracking him responded to his wish.
Both sides got what they wanted, what a wonderful story.

Very fitting for a character based on Anubis who was said to weigh the souls of the dead and decide if or if not they would move on to “heaven”
Also, related sidenote!! Egyptian “heaven” is called Aaru, the namesake of Aaru Village. Since Cyno is likely from that village i hope they continue with the parallels between him and Anubis 👀👀 i can’t wait to see his views on the village vs. his views on the Akademiya!!

Has two sides just like the days and nights in deserts - Harsh, brutal, merciless, punishing yet gentle, warm and considerate.

His VA is really talented and does a great job transmitting Xiao's struggle and the constant pain his curse causes him.
Alot of people say that Xiao and Cyno are very similar, although I won't deny, they are, but now that we know more about Cyno, the biggest difference between them is that Cyno knows the difference between work and life, while Xiao doesn't.
Whenever Cyno is working, he solely focuses on that and that only, he doesn't let anything interfere with his work and does it straight to the point, whenever he isn't working, we now know he spends time with his friend, Tighnari, loves to play card games and even tells jokes, he knows the value of living your life and knows that having friends and time off is very important for a person, especially if he wants to improve in his work too, having a good mindset helps significantly. Cyno talks a lot about the importance of talking about things, whether it be directly or indirectly, he says ( not sure if that's exactly what he said tho) "it's helped me to talk to someone about things", and in one of the scenes with Tighnari, he talks about an event that made him feel bad and angry about, which also shows he puts a lot of value and trust in friendships he finds important, and in "talking things out" instead of bottling it.
Xiao, on the other hand, is the exact opposite. He defined his work as his life, and his life as his work, because of what he went through, he doesn't believe he deserves a break and finds it his duty to conquer demons day and night without a break, he finds it insignificant to even talk to anyone about anything, both because he doesn't want to affect them with his karma and doesn't care at all. That's until traveller came along, only then did he start opening up a bit more, becoming a bit more relaxed and putting the effort to talk to others, the traveller was the first person ever since the incident that he could openly talk to, which made him more open to others too.

Well his teaser can be describe in short only as: he's walking, menacingly. Also eremites called him "kid", heh they really have some nerves. But with all seriousness, I'm quite happy that Hoyo gave him such manly and serious yet youthful voice. All other medium male characters have "teenagers" kind of voice.
