To be fare they both great new ships, our squadron are very keen in the type 8 though, I'm glad Rambo stayed the distance not high waked out. think he learnt a great lesson there. hope you made up afterwards and shared what you liked and disliked about the new ships.
I'm not sure what he could really learn there. One is a combat ship, one most certainly isn't. There isn't much to learn or get better from other than fly a different ship if you want to do combat. Which I am sure he wanted to fly the Type 8 so... pretty sure it was just for fun more than anything. shits and giggles.
