I have used this for just over year and a half and I have loved this. I have used it for weddings, graduations, concert performances and Djing. I just got the Roller bag for this and it is a life saver. Expensive but one of the best investments in my life.
Thank You SO much for this video! I was 90% sold on the 16’s and man you just took me to 100%. I’ve watched many videos on this very topic, and I just felt really comfortable with everything you said. I’m going to buy a pair this week. Thanks again for the review, and keep up the great work!
Glad to help! Thanks for watching! I've worked about 17 gigs now with these speakers (mostly Weddings) from 100-250 people and I'm still impressed on the all around quality of the sound and power of these speakers.
Great review. Very honest. With 180 degree coverage why do you need two besides looks for DJs? You mentioned EV. How do these perform compared to the EV50?
Thanks for your comment! I did a comparison with EV Evolve 50s and the new JBL PRX Ones and it wasn't even close! Power and clarity was WAY better on the Bose speakers. FYI I wasn't a Bose fan before this model was released. Why 2? I don't think think one would be enough for medium to larger weddings and parties. Two give me plenty of power if needed.
@@jpwpro Other people who have owned the pro 16 and PRX one / Evolve 50 say the opposite what you say ... So we don't know who to believe. How is the Pro 16 better ? bass ? volume ? sound quality ?
@@sonny9546 All I can comment on is my experience. I tested 3 brands (Evolve 50s Bose L1 Pro 16s and the JBL PRX1) with the same songs and in my opinion is the Bose was the all around winner by far. Now these Bose speakers are my preferred choice. *If the Evolves were better or even as good I would have saved some money and purchased them instead.
That's an easy one! The PRX one was actually the speaker I was planning on purchasing (I was a HUGE JBL fan for a long long time). After listening to Bose, JBLs and the Evolve 50s the JBLs were clipping SO easily! That was a deal killer for me! JBLs were the worst of the 3 by far!

Wow ... I have used the RCF Evox with the 12 inch sub, also several others. I have yet to used the Bose Pro 16 or hear it but this could be my next array system. But darn, the price is way higher than what I paid for the Evox. I would say they cost 2x as much. But from what I can tell these will help with one of my gripes with the arrays with 12 inch subs and that is bass. You do get bass from the 12 inch subs but for me I like at least a 15 inch sub on the bottom. I like to feel the bass and shake the room. When playing on the system with the 12 inch sub I would hit the limit light during most of my wedding and bday gigs. Just a little more bass was what I needed! I am excited about the Bose Pro16 and a buddy has invited me to a gig he is doing with his. Note: a solution that I used quite frequently with my Evox with the 12 inch subs was to add a 15 inch sub that I already owned. That's was a good solution because not all gigs needed the sub but most did.
Thank you for this, I’m considering getting these as wedding Dj. I’ve had 2x f1 & subs but finding them hard to lug about, this has tipped the balance for me

I don’t know if you ever found decent covers but have you throes the company Tuki? If they don’t have one they will make one for you, just give them the specs on size. Good luck!
Thinking about picking up one of these units to use for a small outdoor party I have to DJ soon. Would 1 suffice in this setting vs using my standard 2 - 15" tops setup? I don't have a separate sub in my setup for the 15's. So I assume one of these would give me that "sub" kick I'm looking for outside. Currently debating between the L1 pro 8, 16, the evolve 30m or 50, and the Maui G2 28.
All depends on how the setup is outside, if people are spread out in a wide area I would probably use two speakers or more, but if it's just a smaller area with less than 100 people I think 1 of these would be fine. The L1 Pro 16s are way better than the EV Evolves 30 & 50s it's not even close. I haven't heard the Maui's before so I don't have any opinion of those. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching!
if your ears are used to hearing 15" tops, then these L1 pro series won't sound anywhere loud to you. Ad I am not gonna lie and say you spend your kidney on a pro 32 that might come close
It's interesting what you say about the cases. I have the L1 Model 2 & the cases for that are beautiful & very tough. It sounds like Pro 16 has the same sort of slip cover that the S1's have which has no padding.
Thanks for watching Lee! Actually the column bag that comes with it is very nice and well padded. The bass unit does not come with anything. Bose sells a slip cover for $58 which to me is a waste of money. I found a real nice padded Gator bag with wheels and a handle that works great! I actually posted a video demo on my channel for the bag if you want to check it out.
Thanks so much for this video! Question....do you have to use the spacer? Or can you just plug the line array directly into the sub without the spacer? Thanks again.
Hi and thanks for the video. I am a new DJ and I am considering buying two speakers and here is my dilemma. On the Bose Canada website, the Bose L1 Pro32 has not been available for almost a year with no date of return to normal is known. I don't want to buy other speaker brands but I don't want to wait for the next two years either. The only availability is two Bose L1 Pro16. When I see the reviews on RUclips I'm not very encouraged (the plastic part that connects the top part with the Sub). So far do you still using them and you are still satisfied ? DJs at the wedding or events with 150 people with 2 Bose L1 Pro16 can you tell me ? square foot idea of where you use them. So I have a second question. If I have a Numark Mixtrack Pro FX Platinum where I can also plug in a microphone, do I really need a ToneMatch?? The control of the Numark turntable with the adjustments on the speaker itself should be enough, right?? My third and last question what connecter you need to buy and how long to connect both speaker together ?? I also heard about the fact that they are mono and need to do something with them to make it stereo.. Thank you very much for your answers in advance
Hey thanks for the comment! Worked about 8 gigs with these speakers so far and NO issues at all with the plastic connector piece. Yes they sound amazing, I've done various size rooms from 250 people to 75 in medium/average sized venues and as large as a High school gymnasium were I was shocked on how well they performed using only two speakers. I have the EQ on each speaker set to "Music" and the Tonematch "Off" In regards to cables, I use XLR out of my mixer to 1/4 inch into each speaker (10-25ft cable length should be enough for most setups). Another nice thing about these speakers is you don't really have to spread them out far to get full room coverage because of the 180 degrees they cover. Mono and Stereo has nothing to do with DJ speakers. That is controlled by your software/mixer output and cables used.
@@jpwpro WOW ! thanks so much for the time you take to answer my question. I truly apreciate that and this is a GREAT help for me because no one in Canada can talk to me about these speakers. Best regards

I don't think it would break because there's no locking mechanism so I think it someone fell against the speaker it would just separate from the bass unit and fall to the ground.
Hi, Thank you for this video. I have bose F1 with sub but I would like to change in order to be faster with the setup. Have you an advise for how many people the Bose L1 pro 16s is?
I was ready to buy a Bose L1 Pro 16 with a Tonematch T8S mixer. I tested one out and loved the sound and wide dispersion. What I wasn't impressed with was the plasticy build quality and especially that crappy plastic spacer and the wobbly speaker column! I spent just a more and got a pair of Evolve 30Ms in white and they're bloody awesome! Their build quality and look are way better and they sound just as good with their own sound signature. I don't need to spend extra for a pricey external mixer as the EVs have a comprehensive mixer built in with a fantastic app to control it externally.
@@ronedwards8239 the Bose L1 Pro 16 is the next step up from the Evolve 30M, comparing to the likes of Evolve 50M, JBL PRX1, RCF Jmix8.
