You have taught me so much about metal detecting even though I have been in it for 30 years. My first detector was a Whites XLT which has paid for itself 10x. I now have a brand new Excalibur and only have tones, no VDI numbers on the screen. My hearing is horrible because of using extremely loud tools throughout my career without ear protection. I’m going to have to say THANK YOU FOR YOUR CHANNEL!!! I’ve systematically scoured the beaches where I live but now I’m able to put on my waders and get into the water up to my chest. My finds have doubled in a very short time. My best finds with the XLT are an 1832 bust half in almost uncirculated condition and a 1772 half reale, which I donated to the Little Compton historic society some years ago. Now I’m finding some really nice jewelry.

Sometimes I use it to identify misshaped iron as it can perform better than conventional disc modes modes.
I love the dues 2 being a nox 800 user but it still teaches me a few new things once and a while. I love the sounds the deus 2 has. Very nice programming.

Disc IAR is a very nice feature. I am really starting to enjoy pitch audio more and more! This morning I was ripping pitch tones at the beach and it is extremely effective. Looking foward to the instructional videos man.

I just recently got my first detector, Deus II, and went all out and bought headphones and pinpointer with it, so glad I did as it's very convenient and saves some battery on the detector. It also works a surprisingly long way away
@@KISSMYACE3203 I have the same setup just like you purchased. Its a great setup for sure! The only complaint I have is when the pinpointer is under the water and the signal can't get to your headphones. It will still vibrate but it throws you off a bit. It's still the best setup in my opinion.
@@justins3810 I don't know the exact operation of the three together, but I thought the signals went to the detector, then to the headphones. How deep of water? I agree, too, awesome setup, and made in France. Haven't got to use mine a ton, but I've found a lot of trash when I do. It amazes me how many nails/random junk end up in the middle of a field 😅. There are a couple civil war battlefields by me, so if I could find some camp locations or just old undisturbed locations, that would be awesome. They're building so much so fast around here though, 2-300 acre fields are getting turned into subdivisions. 😔
@@KISSMYACE3203 I had issues in about 6 or more inches of water when trying to pinpoint in a stream. The coil has the same issue but it comes with the antenna wire to function under water. Definitely watch Merrill for tips using this. He's the best. Yes its amazing how much trash is in the ground but when you find an old large cent or silver coin it makes it all worth it.

Your gothic thimble , actually looks like the counter part to another one of your finds I commented on in another video of yours I just watched where you and friends were detecting int the snow in the woods . You found a triangular piece of copper that I thought looked like a kettle point from the 1600s I explained in that comment about how the made some triangular and some conical like this one.
Merrill the old key looks like a railroad switch lock key.Clean with a wire brush and there are usually letters indicating which railroad it came from.
New to the channel, excellent channel. Pretty new to the metal detecting world and i got an apex as a starter. Been doing old homesteads with the usual high iron ground. Found some cool coins and buttons but target separation has been difficult. I’m sure you’ve talked about it in another video i haven’t gotten to yet but what’s a good detector for iron sep? Been watching your videos for about a year now, finally decided to grab a detector. I found a whites XLT for 100$ in my town! I did lot of research on it, and holy crap was it a learning curve.... I was planning my first real good day and before I could do it... My shop and house burned down.... I lost everything... All the tools I used for working self employ... fighting VA for disability too and unable to do much else .... TO top if off insurance is giving me a hard time.... Sigh...

Definitely an improvement of the name. General on the D2 is FMF while on the D1 it is one frequency at a time (although depending on the coil that you use you can run higher frequencies). They run the same reactivity, silencer but a slightly higher sensitivity 95 on the D2 than the 90 on the D1. Both are intended to be programs that are plug and play for any user.

All of south east Florida is the same. They either notch or ignore! Drives me crazy along with the millions of pull tabs and bottle caps they leave behind as well. They are cherrie pickers! It like hunting in your dump on the river with the queen of mean! Lol
But seriously something They can. Do is make the new black cable about 1’ longer! They went from too long by a mile to too short by a foot! Thanks for your Channel; i often enjoy watching your videos, BUT: You totally lost me in the ‘walkthrough’ (in order to programme ‘IAR’) when you switched from one sequence to another, suddenly displaying an option i cannot access here on my RTC (pitch option?). I could offcourse Call my local xp dealer and he would help me out, but i Think you should be Aware of making Logic progression in coding new programs, especially now you Beeing XP ambassador! (…AND a teacher) 🤴🏻
iar = irrational algorithmic redundance or in plane speak gobbledygook. 😵💫. How about we just go detecting and have the machine just knock out the iron. 😄. My old Minelab Explorer II was fantastic on rejecting iron but because it detected right across the coil if a none ferrous item was on or near iron that target was rejected also 😬but bare in mind that machine had 20 year old technology in it. 😛. We now have modern technology which is far superior on rejecting iron compared to all that time ago. We now have narrow signals that can get in amongst the iron for those little none ferrous targets ie the Minelab Equinox series. 😀. P.s. In my metal detecting club the machine that found the most hammered coins this year was a Minelab and that was used by a complete novice Equinox user. 🤗. The Deus users spent more time downloading new programs and trying to work out which iar setting to use. Lol. 😆. HH from across the pond. 🙂.

When using relic, I'll notch as follows 00-02 this removes false signals from the ground/rocks.

Thanks for your Channel; i often enjoy watching your videos, BUT: You totally lost me in the ‘walkthrough’ (in order to programme ‘IAR’) when you switched from one sequence to another, suddenly displaying an option i cannot access here on my RTC (pitch option?). I could offcourse Call my local xp dealer and he would help me out, but i Think you should be Aware of making Logic progression in coding new programs, especially now you Beeing XP ambassador! (…AND a teacher) 🤴🏻

Never rub the coin with your finger use water in a bottle to clean it just pour it right on it don't rub it. If you rub it you lose the value of it!!!

iar = irrational algorithmic redundance or in plane speak gobbledygook. 😵💫. How about we just go detecting and have the machine just knock out the iron. 😄. My old Minelab Explorer II was fantastic on rejecting iron but because it detected right across the coil if a none ferrous item was on or near iron that target was rejected also 😬but bare in mind that machine had 20 year old technology in it. 😛. We now have modern technology which is far superior on rejecting iron compared to all that time ago. We now have narrow signals that can get in amongst the iron for those little none ferrous targets ie the Minelab Equinox series. 😀. P.s. In my metal detecting club the machine that found the most hammered coins this year was a Minelab and that was used by a complete novice Equinox user. 🤗. The Deus users spent more time downloading new programs and trying to work out which iar setting to use. Lol. 😆. HH from across the pond. 🙂.
