Brilliant video Martin, it's great to see what you have been getting up to. Your firemaple pot will serve you well but I don't think you can buy the stash pot separately unless you can find a used one on ebay. If I see one I'll let you know anyway. I'll be keeping an eye out for your next adventure, I shall live vicariously through you for the next few weeks 😄
Aw Cathleen it was my pleasure. So nice meeting ye all. Honestly a lovely bunch. You could have fed the full mountain with the 6 sliced pans of sambos 🤣🤣 and the feast in the yard. Great day. Was so happy for ye to get a clear day. So great as the summit of Carrauntoohil is one of life's pleasures. 🙂
Jealous of that drone footage. I only seem to be able to see these mountains in the rain, snow and fog/cloud. Some day I'm sure I'll climb the Reeks in conditions where I actually get a good view from the top 😂
@@soletrail I will persevere. I've done May (rain), August (torrential rain) and January (snow). I reckon I'll try June or July next year and try to arrange enough time to have some flexibility whuch day I try.
Cheers Ger. We missed ye by a day. I see ye did I Shea's Gully. Brilliant route. Ye got great weather also. Well done. Saturday was packed. Very busy mountain.
Haha, upstaged by some smelly kids 😉 Cracker day, 50 next year and would like to get up there for that 🤞 Part of the charm of alcohol stoves for me is that they force me to slow down and be patient but I wouldn't take one camping I don't think. Although Wild Beare uses one almost exclusively for all her camps. Another great video 👍
Hey man. 🤣🤣 Smelly kids is right. I'd love to camp up there with you man. We can make a plan. I know exactly what you mean. Love the alcohol stoves and how quiet they are. I brought mine on camps and cooked steaks with it. Very handy. Brilliant in the winter.
Martin, that is a cool car camping set up, loved the friends you made there too🐈⬛🐐 A beautiful day for the climb and pretty busy on the summit. Loved that drone shot looking down on the summit and giving a sense of the height👍
Fantastic video Martin. You had a great day with the drone. Great views from the top on a clear day. I'll root around for the pot on its own.....but I would guess it wouldn't be for sale on its own. Its not on the jetboil site as a single item. You never know, you may get a swap 🙂
Cheers Alan. Delighted I got the drone up. Had the drone up on top 4 times and only got the opportunity to fly it on Saturday. Perfect weather for it. Cheers for the search. ✌️
Nice to finally see the views from the top, so thanks for that. I hiked this 14 years ago. I rolled into Cronin's yard from Dublin after dark, got the tent set up and next morning had to wade across a river up to my thighs in freezing cold water to get to the devils ladder. It lashed it down all day and I could barely see the cross when I got to the top never mind anything else and never saw a soul all day 😂
It was a challenge but there the best one right :) I could well believe it took 7 goes to get a fine day in that part of the country. Carrauntoohil is definitely on my want to-do list but unfortunately I am over in the UK now so it's a bit more of a trek getting there @@soletrail
Great footage from up top Martin! 😎 Wonderful visibility of all around you...that must have been fab to see 👍Loved the goat and cat trying their luck to get some scraps, not a chance..Looked like a rewarding hike and camp...you really struck gold with the weather! 😊

Great video, Martin. That car camping set up - briefly glanced at 0:26- is interesting. What is under the sleeping bag and mattress?
Hey John.. I have a video called building a car camping and it shows my full process of making it. 🙂

Great shots of the summit 👏 well done lad 💯
Cheers Dec. Brilliant view that day. Happy out.
What a beautiful scenery my friend! This upload is simply marvelous!

Jasus that sounds like a challenge mate. I did Carrauntoohil 7 times before I got a clear day. You gotta make plans to get down again mate.

Did this for the first time as part of the county high points a few weeks ago and definitely one of the best spots well worth a visit if in the area 👍
Brilliant spot Brian isn't it. What route did you do?

Cheers Miriam. You could actually see the Galtees from the top of it. Incredible. Gutted I wasn't up on top for a camp. Hope all is well 🙂
ive never Camped there before is it Pricey or Cheap
Nope.. very reasonable. Car camping cost me €4 or something.
