Probably because, even after all these years, you realize that Don was one of the best. His comedy was never at anyone's expense. No sex, race, religion, politics, or any other group suffered, just his character. On the Andy Grith Show, how many times did you know what was going to happen and yet got a laugh from it. Then the physical performance, the fact that his whole body was into the act. He was gifted but truly worked hard at his trade. Very hard to forget Barnie or any of his other characters. Who else could of pulled them off and made them as memorable as he did? I am afraid whenever Don is brought up, we that grew up watching his performances will always get a little bit saddened by our loss.
@@ronfullerton3162 - Very well stated. My wife and I often communicate with each other using quotes from old movies, mostly comedies. The majority of our quotes come from Don Knotts movies. Clean and wholesome and still funny after all these years. Apparently it works well because we celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary back in June. Laughter truly is the best medicine and Don was/is still the best imho. Edit: While remembering that Don passed away brings sadness, watching almost any of his shows/movies perks me back up. Funny how that works...
I loved the Andy Griffith show when it 1st came out. I still watch it to this day. Both Andy Griffith and Don Knotts became a part of my daily routine. I can honestly say that I love both of them. And I hope we will see each other in the future. God-bless.
Excellent video!! During my first law enforcement job in Tennessee in the 70's I kept a bullet in my pocket just for those folks who had to ask. I have a photo of Barney behind my desk today. Life should be so simple. Good times!!
Funniest gimmick...Deputy Barney Fife was allowed to have one bullet, but he had to keep it in his pocket. Yes, simpler times. These days, even rural law enforcement has to be prepared to deal with deadly force.

+Motor1 Thanks for watching and commenting! Barney was the best!
Great sense of humor, Motor1. We could use more like you.
That's awesome Motor1. What a nice thing. The picture too. Thank you for your service.
Funniest gimmick...Deputy Barney Fife was allowed to have one bullet, but he had to keep it in his pocket. Yes, simpler times. These days, even rural law enforcement has to be prepared to deal with deadly force.
Mr Furley was my absolute favorite character on any tv show ever. RIP DK
Me too. The man was HILARIOUS
What a beautiful tribute to his life, well done.
+kimmyjeans2 Thank you, Kimmyjeans!
God bless you Kim
Mr. Knotts we surely be remembered by all, God bless him
What's is your favorite Don Knotts Movie?
This was beautifully done. Thank you for this video.
Don Knotts, Andy Griffith, John Ritter, and Tim Conway. Together again. It must be a funny time in heaven!!
You are a single man
For sure!
Tim McKinney I never found John Ritter to be particularly funny. And I am sick of 3 s company. The other 3 are classic
@@schmim1 Amen to that. When I saw Ritter's face I couldn't switch the channel fast enough.
@@GCEvans6318 I. Gggg/
His hometown of Morgantown WV named a street after Don - The "Don Knotts Boulevard".
Thanks so much for this. What a fine man from a time when the television industry was not so morally destitute. Our DVR is full of Andy Griffith reruns right now.
Andy is a very nice person to listen to on television & his son Opie also.
Rest in peace old friend thank you for making us laugh and be humble in the days of your life rest in peace Dawn hope to see you soon
Mike Jenkins ... Amen. He was a wonderful actor. Sure wish I had met him.
Mike Jenkins
Don K. reminds me alot of Mr. Rogers with the kind of quiet way he would talk. Those were wonderful tv/movie years with the actors who seemed like your family members.😇
Don Knotts, he always cracked me up. Will always miss him.
What a great short piece and that tombstone is a masterpiece
Great as Barney Fife. I watch reruns every night on ME TV
Same Here...
I watch an hour before I go to bed

Today would have been Don Knotts' 95th Birthday. Happy heavenly birthday Mr. Knotts. Thanks for entertaining us for so many years and for being such a kind soul.
Its kinda surreal watching actors go from young to old on screen yet there is a sense of immortality in film and motion pictures!
R.N N it makes me feel sad
Absolutely so.
We grow up watching them or even growing up with some of them, so they are a real part of our lives.. we see them getting old and ignore the fact that we are too until it hits that yes we're getting old too. hence the heavy heart. Where did the yrs go.."it was just yesterday" 😢
I still watch the Andy Griffith show(2019)🤗
My dad was an extra in Apple Dumpling Gang Rides Again, and met Don, and said he was a great, nice individual .
He made me laugh so much as a child watching his movies. Gone but not forgotten, the much beloved Don Knotts. ❤
I lived in Martinsburg WV for a few years and my neighbor was a classmate of Don Knotts in high school. He said Don Knotts was great guy and everyone in HS liked him. What an awesome guy he was!
Thank you for respectfully remembering Don Notts. He reminded me of my grandfather so much. On the day I learned of his death I even sobbed for a bit. Still to this day I think about the guy.
+Pear CD Thank you for watching, and for the poignant comment.
*His last name is literally spelled in the title and in every comment and you still got it wrong*
Nice to see this tribute, Don Knots will always be one of my favorites!
+PacificAirwave144 Thank you for watching!

I still watch. Andy always gave good advice, was a great father, sheriff, boss, nephew. All without cussing. How about that!
Back before all the technology needed today to do almost everything. Things seemed so much simpler then.

I miss Don Knotts and Andy Griffith. Andy Griffith seem to be such a lovely human being as well as Don Knotts. And everything Andy Griffith touched was pure gold.
