This is the largest full-time ensemble in the world. A hybrid orchestra comprising 52 musicians, it is a combination of jazz big band and symphony orchestra. The Dutch government almost stopped funding the Metropole, but at the last minute, December 2012, funding for the orchestra was secured until 2017. Thank you, Baby Jesus!

Vreselijk goed. Ik heb dit consert bij stukjes en beetjes genoten. Pet af. Helemaal Ellington. Zonder krampachtig te proberen de grote Ellington solisten te imiteren.
i think it would be a big mistake to not fund the arts we been going through this in philadelphila PA USA ,what kind of World would we be with out the ARTS.
The BBC tries hard to get its Concert Orchestra to this level, but I've yet to hear them swing, still less with a modern, plugged-in sound. One can hope though.

Die Teilnahme an der WM für Musiker und Orchester würdet ihr im Gegensatz zu den Kickern mehrfach gewinnen mit den vielen guten Ersatzspielern die selbst hier erstklassig sind .....
You have obviously not followed them long enough over a magnificent library of original and timeless arrangements. Many are leading musicians for their instrument.

Excellent compositions, the string imposing along with the horn, read & woodwind arranging is quite astute for a fantastic complete performance!
