As a bigger guy, I think a waistcoat is always a great option to hide that mid section a bit.

Try high rise pants. Since the rise sits on your belly button and not you hips, that will definitely hide a mid section. Also instead of a belt, consider braces/suspenders. ( the kind you button, not clip)

I grew up in Birmingham. Even up until the 80's it was normal for working class men to put on their "Sunday best".
That was a good suit, shirt and tie....and shoes polished to a gloss and often a trilby or flat cap.
Sunday lunchtime at the pub would see men dressed immaculately. Those men, my father and uncles included, were ex forces, having fought in WW2, and took pride in their appearance even if they worked in engineering companies like BSA, Lucas and Austin motors during the week. Their military background, like Shelby, shone through with immaculately pressed shirts and trousers and a "spit and polish" shine on their shoes.

I wish men would still take pride in they appearance like this. My family is from the black country and I have heard my dad and my grandparents speaking about how men used to dress in this way, even though they didn’t have a lot of money. And, from what I’ve heard, the newsboy cap was pretty popular too! Not sure if you remember that being particularly prominent?

My grandfather, who lived in central Birmingham near Gas St Basin, wore a flat cap. I have pictures on him in it. Judging by the shape it appears to be a newsboy style.
He also smoked a sculptured Meerschaum pipe which I still have.
Funnily a couple of years back I went into a bar in France, where I now live, and a local enquired where I'm from. When I said Birmingham he was made up ! Turns out he was a massive Peaky Blinder fan.
Last year I visited another bar/restaurant for lunch and wore my newsboy hat. As soon as I entered the owner pointed at me and said "Peaky Blinder" 😂
It must be a popular series in France.

Pocket watches are technically not "necessary" but to pull of the look you need a chain. Waistcoats look fine on their own but the watch chain takes it to that next level.

And the cool part is that there is people on RUclips who dress in historical clothing, and some men do dress like how they did on peaky blinders Not in a modern way. but in a historically accurate way. and I myself want to dress like how men did in the 19th and 20th century

Sir, first off I want to thank you for putting out content I'm really learning a lot from you. I was wondering if a pair of dark leather wingtips could be paired with odd trousers and a sportscoat kind of outfit. Also, I was wondering if a pair of black pleated trousers could be used as odd trousers, I've seen it many times and I think that it looks really good. However, I am kind of afraid to try it for myself. (Sorry if my English is wrong) and Thankyou for considering my dilemma.

Thank you! I think that the first outfit combination would work nicely. As for the black trousers, you could wear them without a jacket or with a dark grey jacket. But I would keep that to the night time because black is too serious for day occasions.

I need to get more waistcoats. Still, I’ve worn charcoal suits and dress pants with a sport coat with my newsboy type hats and I’ve head people say “Peaky Blinders” around me.

I'd love to wear a club collar, I think they look very cute on women and sharp on men. Long dark coats are the best, I just took my charcoal coat off to sit in my favorite Cafe, I adore winter in no small part because of the clothes. My brother loves eccentric, old fashioned style and he sometimes wear a pocket watch. My other brother is a goof and loves the look of a tophat and wears it sometimes during winter. This isn't for me, though I respect the individuality. ;) Your guidance, knowledge, and smart outfits are always lovely to see, till next time.

Long term use of waistcoat pockets causes them to drupe (pocket watches/torches). Best to leave them sewn.

Why the hell is cringe the flat cap is better with suits than a cap and the pocket watch is not that bad im wearing those things almost everyday wait not almost everyday but everyday yes you hear that right the only reason to not wear it is when i have gym on school otherwise ill go to school with suit yep you hear that right and if i want to go for a walk ill wear a suit to wear casual clothes in a walk is the rarest thing that i can do and im wearing casual clothes only on my village (cause my suit for the village now is torn apart why it was really old a i used it as clipboard suit yes you hear that right) and I have experience with those clothes and from my experience no 1 cares about it

The newsboy / driving cap style was all the rage around 5-10 years ago. Just google David Beckham and Ryan Reynolds newsboy cap and you can see some awesome casual outfit ideas.
I do wish the style would come back. Besides baseball caps and beanies there isn't really any acceptable mens headwear nowadays.
