I feel bad for any buyers who bought any two people who intentionally did this and sold their collections because of it. I had a friend that sent a card to PSA that clearly knew it was a 10 but it came back a seven or eight so he cracked it and sent it back and I got a 10 but next time around?? Like what!!! They are more worried about making money and the turnaround time. They don't actually take the time to inspect and grade the cards properly. Sad sad thing.

While I'm more a comic and coin collector and send comics to CGC/NGC this is so fucked up. The weird part is that this happened to me too. There was a Superman coin that belong to my dad and the coin has a special casing on it that can be removed every other coin does that. NGC was so lazy they put the case the coin has in their with the slab. I contacted them and their excuse was "Were trying to be very protective" i even showed them prove and they ignored it. Its so fucked up

You were clearly just doing an experiment and in that you helped point out a flaw in their system. I don’t know how they come back from taking this course but they definitely owe you an apology.

This whole story, including the one from a few months ago, is insane! I can say that I use CGC on occasions and haven’t had any issues so far. For them to have the audacity to try to keep your money, take you to court, and essentially threaten and harass you over something you did as an “experiment” and said so multiple times in your video, is sickening and people will see this crap eventually. It’s terrible customer service and really hurts the value of their slabs and the pokemon collector community. Sorry bro that’s crazy! Glad you keep being you and doing your thing tho! They sell a bunch of other stuff and determine the authenticity and value for sellers . And ultimately . Can make a known seller look bad . In a community where credit and trustworthiness is vital . Quality control/identification are a big problem for them with comics too, had them damage stuff. The issue with their willingness to grade anything, is that they're failing to properly identify the actual errors and even cards themselves.

I will be sharing on my community post. I have a small CGC submission coming up for subscribers, CGC is walking on thin ice, so lets see how it all goes.
CGC already shot themselves in the foot when their 9.5 will automatically be a 10.0 if resubmitted. What a disgrace to the TCG Community. Sooner or later, this company will be extinct, as more and more people releases CGC is no longer a reputable grading company. I never dealt with any of their tradings and glad not to. PSA and BGS all the way! Thank you for putting out this video and making everyone in the community aware. It’s easy to blame others for their mistakes. The main reason why they are after you because of the backlashes they will get if they honor their mistake. Tons of owners will rethink their graded cards.

Since the company that owns CGC was sold to Blackstone, they have worked feverishly to destroy their brand. Eventually, someone is going to come along and say "hey...you're not doing your due diligence to protect the value of your brand!"...and a court somewhere is going to listen. They may not win...but the court will listen.
As an outsider looking in, the only reason I would 'stand' with CGC reacting like this is because you didn't give them a chance (in private) to resolve the issue. I think if you had contacted them telling them what you did and telling them you'd be making a public announcement concerning the issue they might have responded differently (aka: not banning you and possibly making a statement how they were going to prevent future F-ups from happening which you could have shared / expressed in your previous video regarding the miscuts) I don't think what CGC did to you was the right move and an over-reaction on their end. Hoping the best outcome though for you

While the the topic problem your explaining is real ... Cases weren't designed to be shot and thrown on the ground, you probably need to have realistic expectations on that or go try it with a PSA slab too. And definitely not designs to be shot at. The CGC holder is actually the best thing about them ,... best in class. Service, not so much sometimes.
lol yes, this is true and you’re right, more of a joke intro but still, 275 fps is nothing… was a bit surprised by that! and i think it’s easily safe to say that beckett by far has the most protective casing (not a huge beckett fan) so unbias opinion but yes def wouldn’t even begin to compare cgc cases to beckett
They all mess up not just CGC they all have there own best interests. I have used every company for grading at this point under grading, damaging cards, mis labeling cards (recent PSA sub). At the end of the day they know 90% if not more will submit there cards again and again and again (cracking cases etc) If you think Rattle is a good guy to look up to man you may want to think otherwise. That guy is nothing but anger and hatred over cards I will admit he has shined a light on some bad things happening but nothing loving is coming from him as a person....at the end of the day grading companies will do what they want losing customers isn't the end because one person has a bad experience with another company and says. I will go ahead and try a different company they may have never used then the cycle repeats. Undergrading and downright lying is a bigger problem in card grading overall and isnt going to change anytime soon. I get it being upset but grading companies all of them are the same at the end of the day. Businesses it is sad none really care for the end consumers. Two recent orders of mine both PSA (mis labeled a nice card) and Beckett severely under graded nm mint cards.
This situation is fucked, but sometimes these companies just... mess up. Remember a while ago how PSA graded a fake first ed card? It's still up to the employee at said company, they make mistakes.

This made my mind up about sending my comic in for grading, I do not have anything super valuable but I have a pristine Amazing Spiderman #77 that is immaculate, bought it at a comic shop in Knoxville 20+years ago and it was misplaced in a 1$ box, I remember the owner being madder than hell at his employee that day. I did not trust CGC much anyway....thanks for sealing the deal here CGC...I will never use Your service...EVER!

The issue has no big character debuts or anything but it is the most pristine comic I have seen from the 70s not graded. I actually carefully went through the book and the pages are the same. I am sorry the jerks at CGC treated You like this but it just shows their true colors as they should be thanking You! I would not trust them to grade a bag of crap at this point, and they lost my business on the cusp of me not only getting that comic but also several more valuable ones as well....I hope their stupidity and scummy demeanor was worth it.
CGC is SOOOO bad lol. PSA is the only real option. Beckett is a scam as well, the black label thing is such a goofy gimmick and it's finally crashing. They pick and choose those cards at random. PSA has always been straight up.

As fucked up as this is I can't lie...I like the look of CGC Pristine slabs the most (the newer label ones) and I think the clarity of CGC slabs looks nicer than the opaque/matte look of PSA. Beckett slabs are alright but they're massive lol. Regardless..I only really sub to CGC if I think it'll pull a pristine, otherwise I go PSA..and because of this sort of shit I very well might not sub to CGC at all.
For the record after watching this a couple times from what you shared they never threatened you with legal action, they were just pointing out that if you or anyone else were to knowingly sell cards that were fake error cards you may be be open to legal action from the buyer. But they are definitely doing that as a technique to bully you because they’re worried about cards they incorrectly graded might end up in circulation
My comment is 8 months late (as I write this comment) and I never really trusted CGC much in the first place to grade cards. They do comics originally which is fine and what they are known for but when you jump from one group of collectibles to another and another in a time period then quality will be compromised for the sake of quality. I've also cracked my share of cards that were graded as 8 and just put them in my binder or regarded with another company. I never trust anyone or any group that compromises quality for short termed gain.

Hate to see it as I was quite a fan of CGC. Their slabs are best in the industry imo. But pulling stunts like this only makes me realize that no grading company actually cares for any collectibles or community. Not CGC, BGS nor PSA. Grading is just a sham. And us collectors, deceived by the promise of "value", are the livestock they're milking.

Since the company that owns CGC was sold to Blackstone, they have worked feverishly to destroy their brand.
Eventually, someone is going to come along and say "hey...you're not doing your due diligence to protect the value of your brand!"...and a court somewhere is going to listen.
They may not win...but the court will listen.
As an outsider looking in, the only reason I would 'stand' with CGC reacting like this is because you didn't give them a chance (in private) to resolve the issue. I think if you had contacted them telling them what you did and telling them you'd be making a public announcement concerning the issue they might have responded differently (aka: not banning you and possibly making a statement how they were going to prevent future F-ups from happening which you could have shared / expressed in your previous video regarding the miscuts) I don't think what CGC did to you was the right move and an over-reaction on their end. Hoping the best outcome though for you

Cases weren't designed to be shot and thrown on the ground, you probably need to have realistic expectations on that or go try it with a PSA slab too. And definitely not designs to be shot at. The CGC holder is actually the best thing about them ,... best in class. Service, not so much sometimes.

CGC has always been a horrible grading service in my eyes, and would never grade with them, their grades are junk slabs in my eyes
They all mess up not just CGC they all have there own best interests. I have used every company for grading at this point under grading, damaging cards, mis labeling cards (recent PSA sub). At the end of the day they know 90% if not more will submit there cards again and again and again (cracking cases etc) If you think Rattle is a good guy to look up to man you may want to think otherwise. That guy is nothing but anger and hatred over cards I will admit he has shined a light on some bad things happening but nothing loving is coming from him as a person....at the end of the day grading companies will do what they want losing customers isn't the end because one person has a bad experience with another company and says. I will go ahead and try a different company they may have never used then the cycle repeats. Undergrading and downright lying is a bigger problem in card grading overall and isnt going to change anytime soon. I get it being upset but grading companies all of them are the same at the end of the day. Businesses it is sad none really care for the end consumers. Two recent orders of mine both PSA (mis labeled a nice card) and Beckett severely under graded nm mint cards.
This situation is fucked, but sometimes these companies just... mess up. Remember a while ago how PSA graded a fake first ed card? It's still up to the employee at said company, they make mistakes.

The issue has no big character debuts or anything but it is the most pristine comic I have seen from the 70s not graded. I actually carefully went through the book and the pages are the same. I am sorry the jerks at CGC treated You like this but it just shows their true colors as they should be thanking You! I would not trust them to grade a bag of crap at this point, and they lost my business on the cusp of me not only getting that comic but also several more valuable ones as well....I hope their stupidity and scummy demeanor was worth it.

As fucked up as this is I can't lie...I like the look of CGC Pristine slabs the most (the newer label ones) and I think the clarity of CGC slabs looks nicer than the opaque/matte look of PSA. Beckett slabs are alright but they're massive lol. Regardless..I only really sub to CGC if I think it'll pull a pristine, otherwise I go PSA..and because of this sort of shit I very well might not sub to CGC at all.

For the record after watching this a couple times from what you shared they never threatened you with legal action, they were just pointing out that if you or anyone else were to knowingly sell cards that were fake error cards you may be be open to legal action from the buyer. But they are definitely doing that as a technique to bully you because they’re worried about cards they incorrectly graded might end up in circulation
My comment is 8 months late (as I write this comment) and I never really trusted CGC much in the first place to grade cards. They do comics originally which is fine and what they are known for but when you jump from one group of collectibles to another and another in a time period then quality will be compromised for the sake of quality.
I've also cracked my share of cards that were graded as 8 and just put them in my binder or regarded with another company. I never trust anyone or any group that compromises quality for short termed gain.

Hate to see it as I was quite a fan of CGC. Their slabs are best in the industry imo. But pulling stunts like this only makes me realize that no grading company actually cares for any collectibles or community. Not CGC, BGS nor PSA. Grading is just a sham. And us collectors, deceived by the promise of "value", are the livestock they're milking.

And this guy sends in cards saying theyre misscut by doing it himself, dudes just grinding grading cards and is just like "yeah looks misscut" because it is. Grades it and moves one.
