There is no way this woman is completely sober. Look at her eyes!!!

She had been crying in the prior episode.
@@eileenm.1413So. Look at how she acts ! She is still using drugs
Unfortunately when you get addicted to drugs to a certain degree those ticks and reactions are always going to happen after a while, sometimes they never go away. Seen it too many times and had to keep those people out of my life. I don’t think she realizes that or is willing to accept it yet. Even if she is sober she is still letting herself be a victim. It sucks that when someone goes through that sometimes they never fully recover. She could’ve traded a physical addiction for some kind of mental addiction. I know the episode is old, but I hope she got more therapy after this.
Oh, you can tell from the way she talks, or should I say rambles, the way she fidgets with herself, and moves her eyes in a rapid manner that she's not in the clear. By her own admission, she said that she was in and out of rehab, which kind of, not entirely, gives you a clue as to where she is in terms of being clean.
When Judy called the plaintiffs witness a waif I nearly passed out
I'm going to have to look that up because I have no idea what it means. She said it a couple times.

The fact that she had her child and her grandchild in her care is frightening.
I guess it's a crime that she has them
I’m considering school for social work. Do you have a BSW OR MSW?
Both parties don't want CPS involved, wonder why...
Here we see the system failing two little kids.
child welfare...welfare....concept to apply is far from truth...

She was tryna cool Judy down!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Wondered why she did that?..
Doesn’t she realize her mother was going to put the dog up for adoption when she was in rehab?? She’s lucky the dog is staying in a familiar environment with someone who loves it

@@ChimereTrielle Not gonna lie, I did too.
In this instance, JJ's use of the word "waif" was very pointed as an insult. The woman's age, thinness and glassy-eyed stare was what JJ was commenting on without calling her a druggie.
The plaintiff’s witness doesn’t know if she’s on foot or horseback. And yes she clearly is a waif.
Witness looks strung out and scared too. I think Judy was on to the fact he is taking advantage of addicted women. Defendant is clearly unstable but I think he is a predator.
Exactly! With his incessant need to say "we're just/only friends" yeah ok...
Yes I agree. The man is wicked. The issue isn't about the dog, it is about control and he gets away with it by being the "stable go to" guy in her unstable world. He is keeping the dog out of spite.
While plaintiff may be as JJ said “ NUTS” , defendant never claimed of improprieties going on in the home or of plaintiff. This lady’s addictions rule over her and she places them on every one around her. Ask yourself, why didn’t her mother take her in or the grandchild for that matter?
I don't think she was scared. I think she was high.
You mean "the waif?" - I laughed out loud when JJ called her that!
"You're all NUTS" my exact thoughts, when she talked about the waif with the 👀 I died ☠️
It’s JJ calling the other junkie a “waif”!!!! 😂😂😂
This is a PERFECT case where you can see that drugs have an effect LONG after rehab . My father was a alcoholic for YEARS... When he finally made the decision to stop drinking for good you could see that his mental capacity was seriously hindered . There were still people around him that acted like nothing was wrong but it was clear that he was no longer normal. Just like this woman, she lives in a world that has little connection to the world that most of us live in .
Both of my parents are addicts. Even if someone quits cold turkey the damage is more or less permanent. It’s a long story but I’m 28 now and I’ve cut ties with them and my siblings. Since they always enabled them and are more or less following in their footsteps. I was done with it all.
Well said.
You stated this way better than I did.
I said this same thing in part 3. I’ve watched it happen to my family, it eventually killed my dad even though he had stopped using years before he died. Those pills are more dangerous than street drugs if you ask me, it permanently changes your brain. It’s incredibly sad

I’ve never seen someone such a mess. The defendant is a complete mess who is clearly not sober. The fact she has her kids blows my mind, absolutely disgusting.
She's sober. This is what recovering severe addicts look like. Many of these 'ticks' are permanent.
Waif has two meanings but in the context of this case I think JJ is referring to this one “a homeless, neglected, or abandoned person, especially a child.”
Interesting. I took JJ calling her a waif because of how frail, thin and little girlish she looks/acts. Maybe it’s both.
It's more the second definition. Someone who looks unhealthy (underweight, pale), usually 'cause they're on drugs.
@@anndeecosita3586 Anyone need only read illustrated versions of Charles Dickens to see what a waif looks like."Oliver Twist" or "Great Expectations",the old movie renditions give you a good example. You will see a girl just like that one.

The defendant is definitely not clean, she acting as though she used something before she came to court or she is having withdrawal systems, somebody PLEASE help her and keep her from around those children
It's hard to say. Some people stay on drugs because they act like that normally. We will never know.

@bunnyrabi I have personally known people who have supported good for nothing people and they never progress because of themselves. Omg, I couldn't stand to be around the defendant- all the babbling and nervous movements- she looks exhausting to be around. She shouldn't be in charge of any children or animals.
Ohhh, she's clearly been on drugs for years, and it's clear that motor skills (speech and body reflexes) have been affected by it. Years ago, I took a college course with a guy who had a history of drug addiction in his past -- from LSD, to cocaine, to heroin. Heroin messed him up so badly that he still has tremors in his hands. He can't keep his hands steady even to this very day. I learned that when I asked him to hold onto an item during a lab class, and when he told me he couldn't, he went into his story.

Addiction isn't a choice. Especially if she got on opioids via a prescription.
that word waif was so harsh for the witness
The fact that that OLD MAN had to say "were just friends" while referring to the puppy dog-eyed chick who is clearly on drugs too (bc she said the deal with her child is the same with the dog, so im assuming that means she was on drugs and couldnt take care of the child so she "left it" with its grandmother)is kinda sickening. We had men like that in my hometown when opiates got outta control. Hed let 3, 4 different addicts, all young women, live with him and hed feed them and give them money but theyd all have to sleep with him and perform sexual favors. It was disgusting. And everyone knew what he was doing too. 2 of those girls are dead now and one is in a wheelchair with no legs feom the knees down, from ODs and infections from needles.
BUT, my point is, this verrrrry young woman has no familial connection to this man, why of all people would she live with him? And he just "took in" another female addict before, and it clearly went horribly, so why would HE want to do that again also? Its just odd. Really. And it seems like hes enjoying the control over the first woman he has by keeping her dog. If she had that dog for that long it is horrible she couldnt get her back, but i understand the law sees it differently. Little puppy dog weirdo may wanna think about that pretty hard right now, too, since its the same situation except with a damn kid instead of an animal. But it just really seems like this guy isnt "doing all this for compassion," hes definitely into some shady and sketchy shit.
Definitely lol he does like that type of “energy” otherwise he would’ve just let her take the dog so she’d leave him alone but he’s over here using all these typical excuses like “man’s best friend” to justify why he wants to keep the dog 🤣 and as you stated he let that other woman live with him after the defendant almost took over his own. I would bet that he is a shady individual because he said his family won’t visit him but he’s the one who keeps letting drug addicts move in 🤣

Either the drugs have affected her mentally and emotionally. Or she's still strung out! And I'm betting on the former. And I'm seriously concerned about her having custody of 2 kids. And! Why is this guy involved with all these women that are having problems serious enough that they've lost their kids?!? I agree with Judge Judy, they're all 🥜!
I get the feeling that she personally doesn't have full custody, but others are helping with her daughter. The granddaughter I have the feeling that her son took the kid and is refusing to let his ex have her at all. I doubt that the defendant has any legal custody of the granddaughter.
That chick is still using.
"Idk who this waif is" 😂😂😂
JJ calling the witness “waif” is above and beyond Rupaul level of shade! She would hands down wipe the floor with everyone in the Reading Challenge and Snatch Game!
Facts!
I would say she wasn’t as harsh as some judges I’ve seen that have dealt with drug addicts lol. I think she sniffed out right away that the guy is one of those that takes advantage of young, drug addicted women and of course the women themselves are also at fault for making the choice of letting drugs screw up their lives.
I got seriously exhausted by just watching the defendant's behavior.
"Waif" LOL
She's an expert victim, and everyone around her validates her mind. She says things like "and she's ok with that" as if that means her behaviours are acceptable. The mother should be ashamed of herself as she clearly doesn't put her straight but gives her sympathy. Perhaps she's under threat of losing her but that's no way to get her back in order
You can tell by her manic tendencies. She burst out in tears got highly emotional. Then took off her jacket because she got hot. Then laughed and was smiling. Got a sinister look and coped an attitude when looking at the plaintiff. Then she started talking fast and erratic. It is CLEAR she has serious issues that need to be addressed. When it comes to the law I do not do pity parties. I want people to get help, but if they are consider cognizant enough to care for their 4 year old daughter they are cognizant enough to adhere to the law.
Her mother should be ashamed!?You're kidding right? That's such a weird statement. Do people blame YOUR mother for the stupid decisions you've made as an adult? What would you have her do? Spank her 40-something year-old drug-addicted daughter for being a drug user? As adults, we are 100% responsible for every decision we make. If you choose to wake up and use drugs every day, that's on you, not your mommy. If you wake up one day and choose to quit your job and become homeless as a result, again, that's on you, not your mommy. Life is a culmination of decisions that you make freely. Your line of reasoning is immature. Grow up.
The mom knows she's jacked up. You can tell the way she's answering questions..you can't blame the mom
@@wamz9191 your tirade of a comment suggests you need to grow up. Is that how you hold a conversation with someone on the street? I am not blaming the mother for her actions but for agreeing with the daughter every time she turns to her in her dizzy affected state looking for validation - the mother clearly always gives it to her. A normal parent would not be enabling her to feel she is in the right over her decisions with the dog and the children.
