Shes still on drugs. The fact the friend allowed the child to go back home with mom is astonishing.
I was thinking the same thing. She is obviously still on something. And I get feeling bad for your friend and wanting her to have her child but you have to think of the child, this mother unfortunately isn’t in the right state of mind to raise a child as of this video.

Been in recovery from dope/pills for almost 7 years and she is definitely giving me the vibe she is on something.
I have 10 years 9 months off dope myself, and this woman is screaming with her behavior that she is using something upper-wise. She may be clean from oxys, but she using something else for sure.
I have a family member who went to rehab, failed when they came out and went back

@Shhhh I just saw a video where a baby was put in the care of a family member and cps told them that the mother was not allowed to be around the child, mom moved in and decapitated the infant. The rules are there for a reason. I'm sure this lady would not do that to her child but who's to say she wouldn't.

Some people smile when embarrassed. It's a subcontious copping mechanism, the brain tricking you to try and eleviate the pressure, but it just makes other people feel like you're being disengenuine. She's in distress and can't control this.

I had a girlfriend who did drugs before she knew she was pregnant, the baby had a tiny whole in her heart that needed surgery at one years old. Even though she is perfectly fine now and 18 she still has grief over that guilt of possibly causing it.

Double standards for women and mothers. Imagine if it were the father that had his child hooked on drugs from infancy and remained this messed up. He would never ever see that child again and, in fact, could even get locked up with loads of restraining orders. Why is it that the feeling of mothers are always prioritised over the well-being of all, including little children?

Maybe they have just a little faith that MAYBE a woman that carried a child for 9 months would come to her senses because that a bond that no man on earth can experience. BUT, some women just can’t get it right EVEN for the sake of the child. It’s sad! I would HOPE they are keeping tabs on her. If not, they are doing this child a dis-service. SMH

@@iykeharrison9161 There’s a difference in perception because in order for a father to get a child hooked on drugs from infancy, he would have to intentionally give drugs to the child. The equivalent of that would be a mother intentionally giving drugs to her child. A mother abusing drugs while pregnant, while morally reprehensible, isn’t on the same level as giving drugs to a baby. The harm to the baby is a side-effect of the mother’s use of drugs, not a separate action intended to harm the child.

It's a defense mechanism. My brain does the same thing when people ask me about my drug history, even though I'm 5 years clean at this point.
I can hear with the defendant; she is still addicted and is under the radar with the court system. After this aired, I bet they got the child and took the mother and friend to court over what they both did. Never cheat the court system, for it bites back hard.

The reason Judge Judy needs to know about the daughter is because it shows her character and her state of mind. It has a lot more to do with the case then the mother thinks it does.
And as JJ has said in the past it's all part of figuring out who she's dealing with, the fact the defendant says it was not okay for JJ to bring all this stuff up shows she hasn't completed her recovery...meaning she shouldn't have care over a small child and a pet

I made the mistake of getting involved with someone like her based on looks. She talked like a machine gun and lied as easily as water rolling downhill. It is amazing how someone can just spew BS and smile at you like they are a little angel

People often comment on how they cant believe people go on JJ to air their dirty laundry. I feel bad for this lady as its clear she is ashamed of her past and what shes done to her child. Its like reliving it again and maybe it's hard for her to stand their and try to explain it. Hopefully, her and her daughter's future will be better.

@ splintz....Ok? It must be nice to be able to judge others so easily and condemn them. I think your perception of it is not accurate by your justification of what you thought you heard/saw. She seemed ashamed to me but did the right thing and answered honestly. A horrible situation obviously, but the plaintiff not right in the head.
It's really a manipulation tactic that people in low states of life use to get their way. Act like they're victimized to make the person trying to help them/concerned for them get off their back.

Her reaction to JJs questions shows she has not done the work needed to be in recovery yet, recovered/recovering addicts speak openly and honestly about their addictions knowing its important to who they either are now or who they are working to be...this lady doesn't see how any of it is relevant when its only been 3/4 years, family court is still involved with her and shes clearly not 100 percent sober.
As a recovering alcoholic and addict myself , i have the MOST empathy for those in addiction. But when you use while pregnant, i LOSE THAT EMPATHY. She should never get her child back.

I am a 10 years 8 months clean former heroin addict.... You KNOW exactly what date ypu got clean on. The fact she claims it was "many years ago" that she was in treatment, and can't remember dates she was clean makes me believe she is using something still or again.

Im not going to pass judgement on if this lady isnt or is not on drugs. But alot of people with mental health seek out drugs to self medicate ranging from anxiety to autism to PTSD or biopolar the list goes on.
If she did the time with family courts to have her daughter and is still fullfilling the requirements as a parentenal figure we as an audience should respect that
