I had an opportunity at MSRP for a black AT4X HD but passed, and another opportunity at a Volcanic red that the dealer published $3k off MSRP on their website but when I talked to them they said that was a mistake and it was actually supposed to be $3k over MSRP. Tried to order an AT4X HD from Rivard in Tampa but I didn't like their games or snobbishness, either. Had a Super Duty on order but I just wasn't in love with it like I was before the MY23 refresh, not to mention the fact that the King Ranch got the same headlights and tail lamps as the Lariat. Didn't really consider Ram because although I had nothing but respect for the Cummins, I liked the power figures on the Ford and GM V8 diesels.
Then I happened to come across a smoking hot deal on a loaded, new MY23 Ram Rebel with the Cummins, still only 16 miles on the odometer, and it was priced very aggressively. Beautiful Delmonico Red Pearl which looks even more amazing after I got it coated with Icon Rockclear. The AT4X HD is a great looking truck, but I'm not missing it or the Super Duty in my new Ram Rebel with the Cummins! And you're right JB, the electronic dash is the best dash I've seen, even has a DPF level gauge and an exhaust brake gauge, so I'm not even sure I need a Bank iDash gauge at this point. As I've come to find out, the Ram Cummins rides better with the coil springs and air bags on my Rebel, and the exhaust brake is the best out of all the big 3 heavy duty diesels. Yes, I lose payload and towing over the gasser on my Rebel, but it otherwise meets my needs and I couldn't be happier with the Cummins 6.7 in my new Ram HD Rebel!
Good stuff, if you have never owned a 2019+ RAM, it’s still a solid truck but since I’ve owned one, it’s hard to buy the same truck twice. Anyone coming from GM or Ford should definitely take a look at the RAM HD’s especially with the deep discounts👍🏾
Ram's MSRP does have shock to it, BUT Ram is the only one where you can get some serious cash off of the asking price. Roughly around $7-10K in my area. Congrats on the Ram! Delmonico ALWAYS looks 🔥🔥.
RAM needs a full refresh at this point. I went with a new AT4 because everything just felt new.

Ram is selling the same 14 year old 2500 for 85,000. What a joke. I have been waiting out a true redesign from them since the 1500 cab was introduced in '19. You can get a zr2 hd diesel for about the same money. I say that as someone who hates GM.

Truth. I went on Fords website and built an F250 XLT 2024 , and compared it to a 2024 Ram big horn and couldn’t believe the differences. Ford gives a newer truck with , more accessories at the same price. Why anyone is buying Rams this year is beyond me
Beds also 6 inches shorter on the rams people say it’s not a big deal till you have a toolbox and reserve tank in your bed.
I am a fan of the Hemi, wish they could give it a power bump to refresh it. I had the 8 speed in my old 5.7 Ram and I think its still pretty good.
The size and price of trucks today is beyond absurd. They keep making them BIGGER, and HEAVIER resulting in HORRIBLE MPGs, are RIDICULOUSLY EXPENSIVE, you almost have to pole vault to get into them, they hog parking spaces, and they won't fit in 85*% of garages.
Now if gas was a nickel a gallon, I had a garage the size of a barn to park it in, and owned a dozen gushing oil wells I might consider buying one. But until then, NO THANKS.
A ZR2/AT4X dually would be cool to see for the people that want a off-road truck but need more payload.
I'm a huge Ram fanboy, but if I wanted a gasser offroader, it is going to have to be a PW. It just offers more for the same money.
But a lot less towing and payload. The PW is awesome, but it's a one trick pony.
@@XploreAz depends on your expectations. 1400lbs of payload isn't bad for those of us that need a truck for rough terrain. And I wouldn't need to tow near 10K pounds in a gasser.
In terms of ultimate deep offroading, the PW is untouchable.
If I had the money I’d be happy with the dodge , ford ,gmc/Chevy …all beautiful, more power than imagination…I run 550s which detuned

Ram mustache grill never looked good to me.. interior is great, just ugly front end..that GMC looks so powerful from the front, beast

@@ricky3015 it does not matter now. I purchased a new 2023 Ram 2500 Power Wagon. It is pretty damn nice. Gets up to speed alright, and can off road with the best of them.

I don’t think the Rebel competes in any way against the AT4X as far as off-road capability. Small tires, no skid plate and the fact that your spare is a different size from your tires is a big deal for offloading. And like they have been doing for years Ram just punishes you for buyin a diesel three-quarter ton. Lastly, that mustache grill has got to go lol.
Lol, I was shocked to see that wimpy tire too for the Rebel. RAM definitely has some work to do but if they pull what they did back in 2019, they might be back on top so long as they get rid of these awful cabs minus the mega lol
To be honest, the Rebel is more of an AT4/Tremor competitor vs the AT4X. Obviously Ram has a big stick in the shed with Power Wagon if you really need some offroad prowess. That thing will leave just about anything on the trail and it is still in a class of one.
@@hellkitty1014 The power wagon is an off road beast for sure. Definitely has the mechanics. As long as you don’t actually intend to use it as a three-quarter ton. Ram needs to stop half assing it and go ahead and put some 35s or 37s on the thing.

Wow! I am normally biased towards Ram but that GMC beat the Ram in so many categories. And the outside looks way better on the GMC! I do not like all the black unpainted plastic on the grills on the rebel trucks. It looks cheap. The front end of the GMC looks really nice. Would 37” tires fit on your GMC? If they do, you should do it.
AT4X all day long! Interior and exterior best in class.

More plastic + lower quality leather + poor design choices (terrible placement of trailer break assist, the column shifter blocks 1/3 of the screen when in drive) = better interior

@@bostonaviation2010Yes I have if you’re 5’6 maybe it doesn’t block it cuz you’re too short bud but if you’re 6’0 + it’s right in the way. (He even admitted it in his last video 🤦🏼♂️) Real wood inserts on ram plastic on gmc with a phony graphic design. Ram has android auto, and both can have a phone charger ram was many thousands of dollars cheaper and didn’t get the phone charger option, if optioned the same $$$ wise both have it. Ram has a way better rear seats you can get a mega cab with rear seats that recline. Not even a debate in the back seat and better storage location that can be used for ice. And it has a full outlet. GMC wins exterior wise by a mile but interior still owned by RAM
@@Alexonthetube what you are saying isn’t true. GMC has android auto with a fully swayed headliner and to be completely honest on a off-road truck that I’m getting dirty I wouldn’t want wood.

This isn’t even a worthwhile comparison at all. The ram is an antiquated dinosaur. It’s truly embarrassing they’ve gone so long without releasing an all new heavy duty truck.

Wow Ram is just being stupid at this point. I agree the center console is nicer and I’ll never argue against more gauges BUT they are not even in the same league as the GM trucks or Ford trucks in this segment.
You basically got a 2010 truck there. And then the price is why I said they are being stupid. $85k for that??? That’s insane especially if it has more options available. It’s no wonder I’ve seen other reviewers say they have got as much as $18,000 off msrp shopping Rams. It’s going to be the only way they will be able to sale. It’s the reason they were popular to begin with.
Bob Allen in KY has up to $16k of some rams last I looked. Even though I have driven a ram for six years and bought mine at that dealership it’s still not enough for me at this point lol.

I understand if someone needs a truck and needs the absolute best deal possible then yeah, it would be hard to turn down $16,000 off. And it’s not like I’m saying they are bad trucks, but they are a very distant 3rd place in this segment. Especially the 3/4 ton but even the 1 ton too.
Anyone coming from a Ford or GM would enjoy these generation of ram’s. Aside from the smaller cabs, they really are great options and if you tow under 10k, this truck is perfect 👍🏾
@@JB_WhoWork I don’t know really. I think maybe if you’re coming from a pre 2017 Ford or 2019 GM then maybe because the cab size wouldn’t be much different.
I think it depends on what you are towing. A 2500 Ram is not suited to tow big enclosed type trailers, under 10,000 or not. Maybe with the air bags they would be ok but the vast majority of 2500s are regular coil springs. Junk for towing big stuff.
