i still don't know why, but i just feel like rain and wet effects in older games look so much more visually pleasing and immersive than newer games. i have recently played through the whole of the original modern warfare 3 again and i just felt so much more immersed in those rainy and wet missions compared to the newer 2019 modern warfare and the new modern warfare 2.
I think that because of the lower quality and more smeared graphics, everything actually looks wet and soaked rather than there being really nice looking individual drops but lackluster “wetness” on actual objects and surfaces

I didn't realise in reality F-18s could take off with all that equipment! 10 Aim9X's, 3 HARMs, Fuel Tanks, 2 Aim120s, Unlimited Flares, weird periscope Targeting pod, and a frame made from Vibranium. All of which didn't effect maneuverability or ability to take off from a carrier!
well I said the same thing for BF3 and MW3 as a veteran Medal of Honor and CoD1 & 2 player. initial games had soul but after CoD2 it turned into a killfest for kids

I had some Turtle Beach headsets one while playing this game and the sounds… Ohhhh the sounds where absolutely on point. This mission gave me anxiety when I first played it but I was in awe of how realistic the graphics looked at the time. Awesomely enough the graphics held up reasonable well and this puts a smile on my face!

Guys,I don't recommend that.Too many hackers,and an awful tech trees which is too long for a new one.Compared with warthunder,I prefer to DCS's F16,at least it is more realistic

Awwww the feeling I got when I first played this!!! The only thing I disagree with, is that no Jet is already standing on the "Cat". Pilots roll the plane to it. And the Mirrors are missing in the cockpit.
Pretty good accuracy up until the dogfight tbh. IR Missiles will not be giving the "tone" because theyre not locking in onto you. Fox 2 is not radar, and only fox 3s will be giving you tone. I know AIM-9X is somewhat of a Semi-Radar, but based on publicly available info, it still functions as a fox 2 just like almost every sidewinder. (I would also assume it was designed to not give a tone radar as fox 2 are more deadlier than fox 3s because it would require the opposing pilot to rely on visual launch than their RWR)
That wasn't even the most innacurate part😂. We gonna ignore the fact that the dude is firing a gimballed gun with a HMD and missiles in the back seat. I aint a helicopter. I could list a lot more

I would say this is the most impressed scene in the game of my entire life, still remember at the time when I played it along with my friend, we were being on Skype and my fried was playing slightly ahead of me he made a really big Wow sound at that time then I was confused for a little while and I did the same thing after that
If they want to make a good VR game have them make a game that you sit still in a vehicle like that. Whether it's a car or a plane, just make the immersion be the background that moves not force the player to move in VR when it's impossible without loss of immersion.
While Battlefield is my favorite series of all time. I think Ace Combat 7 is a little closer to reminding me or anyone of Top Gun. Hell they even have thr Top Gun pack. But Dice did a great job with this.
I played this game myself back in the day, but in recent times I have learned that the Mig29 cobra manoeuvre is a bullshit move in close combat because it will relieve you of speed which in turn will make you a sitting duck target. The Migs in this game would not be able to "change roles" like here from the hunted to the hunter. If anything, the cobra can be used to shake off an enemy, but nothing more.

BF3 and MW3 was what got me into shooters, so much so I played their previous games. Today's games just don't hit the way that these did.
