When I bought mine... I was told the difference between 165 and 95 wasn’t much the guy told me just do the 165 because I have the option to grow just saying.
Just installed an AirDog II 4G 165GPH on my 08 LMM. I'm finally able to hold 26K psi of rail pressure for a full EFI Live 150HP tune 5 run without dropping any pressure. I have 3 inch turbo pipes, 4 inch straight exhaust, full deletes, fuel rail pressure delete plug, ported fuel rail fittings, and upgraded stainless steel Dorman fuel lines. The AirDog mount is awesome. Can't even see it. And the quick connect fittings were super easy to install and hookup. Wiring harness is very nice too. Can barely hear the pump with the ignition on and engine not running.
I keep having issues with the OEM Fuel head, I keep loosing pressure. the last OEM head lasted 2 months. My truck is 2004 LLY with edge programmer. Nothing else done. Would a lift pump fix this issue? Do I have to remove the OEM Lift pump when using this? Or keep it and use 2 filters?? Thanks. I'm gona look into the Airdog set up
SuperRhino_R1 stetler I kept my OEM filter housing with the filter itself. I figure more filtration is better but some people say you don’t need it. But you’re protecting your injectors with more filtration
Like this, have a 2008 2500 hd ,had to do alot research, my truck kept giving me low fuel pressure on fuel rail, and alot suggestions but no right ones till a ran into a honest mechanic and told me to get a lift pump,,,workin project
It only takes about two hours to do one if you never done one. Also if you get a bigger one and don't need that amount of fuel it will go right back into the tank through the filler neck.
My pump is Pulse Width Modulated. So running at half speed still pumping lots of fuel. I couldnt get the Fass to pump!!!! Even pouring the fuel into the intake hose!!!! WTF???
Does lift pump do anthing as a lift pump is only a few psi even if it's 20 or 30psi a diesel pump puts out like 30.000psi @ minimum? Having an extra say 10psi wouldn't really do anything but burn out the pump?
Would you recommend the fass 95 for intake, tune, and straight pipe? But I also my touch the turbo/ injectors so I’m not sure if I want the 165.... I’m pretty sure fass sold a 150 pump, is that a good in between pump?
Some guys run both. I just ordered a Fass 165 w/ Beans sump. The sump mounts on the bottom of the fuel tank pulls fuel from the bottom as opposed to pulling from the top on stock. The lift pump I believe just gets the fuel from the tank to the motor.
Does the Fass 165 come as a kit from your website? I’m seeing everyone selling the 165 titanium, but none of the pictures show the hoses, fittings etc. I’m looking for the whole kit and the cat filters. 06 LBZ and I’m chasing a low fuel rail pressure error under heavy load. Already put a race plug in and went back to the stock tune on the Edge Juice. I also saw your video on the trans go, and I’ve done that, upgraded the transmission cooler lines, and have the cat fuel filter! Just found your channel and I’m hooked! Thanks for the input!
Good video. Since you have installed both systems I was wondering if the cat filters also fit the air dog systems ?Or if there’s cat replacement filters for the air dogs that you know of ?
Mark DeCola 1 second ago I actually have a half CAT kit on MDDPerformance.com for the air dog. It comes with an Air dog water separator but the particulate filter is CAT.
Nice vid... hey are you planning on keeping your stock filter system or you planning on deleting it ? That's were im at now.... I'd kind like to keep it incase something fails with the pump... what do you think?
I left mine (factory filter/pump) on and good thing I did, I discovered that at 1/3 tank (with gravity sump) I get fueling issues (slosh) with the fass, factory pump doesn't miss a beat and never looses prime, just pressure with excess use of the skinny pedal. Would love to find a way to run both in parallel to have the best of both worlds....
So what one can i get to work for a 1995 f250 7.3..stock motor..Maybe ill do a 150 injectors at some point..lol..Found an air dog but then i have to buy something else to make it work for another $400..grrr...lol...Cant even find a fass that works for the 7.3..so idk
There can be people who sell below what is MAP pricing. When they do, it cheapens and devalues the brand name FASS. Basically its to keep a good company reputation.
Most importantly, air and water in the fuel rail will DESTROY your injectors; these pumps remove both and leaves you with extremely clean fuel going into the engine. A distant second, the pumps can keep up with the demand for pressure by the fuel rail at higher RPM's. A must for tuners and racing applications. fassride.com/what-is-fass/
I changed mine the other month with 47,000 Km on the . A little of the black asphaltains with half a pound restriction across the filter. Next time going longer between changes.
My Fass 165 came with a replacement bolt for the bed bolt. Did your instructions tell you to place the 10 amp fuse in the top slot of the “add-a-fuse”? Mine did and I know it was incorrect.
James Miller 100% agree man! Anything with lower flow rating would cause issues. With the filters I have here, the flow rate actually increases, making it easier on the pump.
That is false information. You will not burn up a pump on a truck that doesn't need the high fuel flow. Its a internal bypass system, meaning it just returns the fuel it doesn't need back to the tank.
Lots of people bash the vat filters especially for lift pumps because they lie about micron ratings, so you see this as true? I need to replace mine and was just gonna go Donaldson filters.
When I bought mine... I was told the difference between 165 and 95 wasn’t much the guy told me just do the 165 because I have the option to grow just saying.
That's what I was told as well when I bought my 165.

Shouldn’t your pick up tube be longer for the bigger filter
You don't need teflon tape/sealant on the threads of the fittings on the flared side. They seal at the flare, NOT the threads!
It only takes about two hours to do one if you never done one. Also if you get a bigger one and don't need that amount of fuel it will go right back into the tank through the filler neck.
I agree I think it just “polishes “ the fuel a lot faster with a 165
Any chance you can go more into detail on dealing with the fuel lines?
Sorry I did breeze over that. Shoot me a DM at @MDDPerformance on IG if you would like some pictures!
Check my install out if your having trouble
I used the blue 300 PSI hosing didnt have any leaks with the one Female GM end to the factory tubing.
Good info man. I was gonna get the 165 because it’s just a few bucks more but I keep my truck stock. Guess the over kill could kill. 😂 thanks man
How does a pump go out faster simply by having a higher GPH?
My pump is Pulse Width Modulated.
So running at half speed still pumping lots of fuel.
I couldnt get the Fass to pump!!!!
Even pouring the fuel into the intake hose!!!! WTF???
The directions of the fass website say the water separator should be on the side of the draw straw, are the fass instructions incorrect?
Prices are out out of this world local shop d and w has them full kits 95 for 525 bucks

That was a good video thank you one thing where does it suck the gas from
Cut that excess bracket sticking into the wheel well area. You can then add some fender liners and protect your fass from damage and prying eyes.
I like the idea!
Mark DeCola let me know if you want me to snap a few photos of my setup.
My mechanic said the same thing, the pump will just wear out faster if you get a bigger pump
Great video! Quick question, what would the parts numbers be for the cat filers to replace my fass 95 filters?
Great video man, I’ll be getting ahold of you to do one soon. However I’d like to find a way to make these kits more discrete as well.
Sounds great! There is probably a good 2" more you can slide up the pump here. I personally just like the look of the filters.
Not familiar with diesel's. But this is just an upgraded/high flow fuel pump?
I have a airdog 150 can you let me know if I can use a cat filter on my airdog, or what I need to do so I can make it work, thanks.
What socket set is that? You got I'm like how it has everything in it
Looks like a sunnex socket set
Hanging filters are ok for highway princess but what if you want to actually use your truck as a truck?😖
Would you recommend the fass 95 for intake, tune, and straight pipe? But I also my touch the turbo/ injectors so I’m not sure if I want the 165.... I’m pretty sure fass sold a 150 pump, is that a good in between pump?
theGREEK7887 the 150 pump is discontinued
If I where you I would go on and get the 165 Incase you do decide to do more to your truck that way you don’t half to buy another lift pump
You know anything about lift pump vs a sump pump. 2015 DMax trying to figure out what's gonna be best for it? Any thoughts?
Some guys run both. I just ordered a Fass 165 w/ Beans sump. The sump mounts on the bottom of the fuel tank pulls fuel from the bottom as opposed to pulling from the top on stock. The lift pump I believe just gets the fuel from the tank to the motor.
Really like your video! My duramax smoke at times- do you think the lift pump will help? Thanks
Whats the number on the cat water Separator?
Thank you for breaking it down.
how often should those filters get changed out...(regular sized ones)
I believe in changing them every other oil change to be on the safe side. They claim you can get 20-30k out of them but..
GREAT install! Looking to put one on my LLY...Where in Pa are you?
Mark I’m in central PA and drive a lifted Cummins with a straight pipe and large aggressive tires, any advice on lenient safety inspections?😅
Woot woot 🍾🇺🇸

Can you tell me if these are legal in the us?
Do Ford and Ram have factory lift pumps?
Nice vid... hey are you planning on keeping your stock filter system or you planning on deleting it ? That's were im at now.... I'd kind like to keep it incase something fails with the pump... what do you think?
Thanks! Personally, I will never turn down exert filtration when its in front of a multi thousand dollar fuel system.
Mark DeCola True... tnks bro
I left mine (factory filter/pump) on and good thing I did, I discovered that at 1/3 tank (with gravity sump) I get fueling issues (slosh) with the fass, factory pump doesn't miss a beat and never looses prime, just pressure with excess use of the skinny pedal. Why wouldn't a FASS 140 work for you? May just have to do some small tweaks with wiring and the brackets. But I'm not sure as I don't have a 7.3.
@@carls2210 ..Im not sure..But i just made my own fuel setup...Works gd...
What is the reason to install one?
Another nice vid!
Aaron Scheibelhood Thanks Aaron!
Another educational video from the God himself! Keep up the great work brotha 💪🏻
Box_Kev Haha I don’t know about that but thanks man!
Hey Mark, why is it if you buy your Fass lift pump off of EBay or Amazon they will not warranty their product?
There can be people who sell below what is MAP pricing. When they do, it cheapens and devalues the brand name FASS. Basically its to keep a good company reputation.
“Cold weather applications wont need it” only half the world is frozen for 6 months of the year
Great vid👍🏼
Thank you!
What if I plan of upgrading the turbo at a later date should i still stick with the smaller pump or go ahead and get the 165
Go ahead and get the 165!
Are you going to be selling those banners? I’d live to put one in my garage!
Absolutely! You can check them out at mddperformance.com/products/mddp-shop-banner
Mark DeCola sweet!
Nice video. My question is why would I want this?
Most importantly, air and water in the fuel rail will DESTROY your injectors; these pumps remove both and leaves you with extremely clean fuel going into the engine. A distant second, the pumps can keep up with the demand for pressure by the fuel rail at higher RPM's. A must for tuners and racing applications.

How often is the filter/water separator supposed to be replaced?
I changed mine the other month with 47,000 Km on the . A little of the black asphaltains with half a pound restriction across the filter. Next time going longer between changes.
Great video!
Thanks!
You say 1r-0750 but the filter says 0749?
Whats the lift on that truck 6 inch?
How often do you need to replace these filters?
Around 20,000 miles ish
Would you recommend putting a fass 165 on a LML that is stock but is running a 100+ hp tune?
Yes for sure on the LML! Especially with the failure prone CP4.
Great job
Thanks Oscar!
What about the dsf780 lift pump?
I can't say I have ever run or installed one of the AFE pumps so I could not tell you honestly.
What's the cat filter numbers ?
Very cool man👍🏽👊🏽
Thanks man! I have both the large an small set on the homepage of MDDPerformance.com
I am picking up a fass 95 do you have a cat filter set for it
The cat 749 filter has a 12?- ???? number in the Ultra high efficiency one.
Does anyone know if the CAT water separator will fit on an Airdog 150?. I am aware that the 0751 will fit.
I believe a Wix number crosses over but I'm not sure which one. I just include a factory AD water separator in the 0751 kit
found your upgrade kit online. I have a TS D07 165G black base pump. Will the cat filters still work even with the new filter design from fass?
will those filters work on a airdog 4g165?
I actually have a half CAT kit on MDDPerformance.com for the air dog. It comes with an Air dog water separator but the particulate filter is CAT.
I prefer the air dog cause of the quick disconnect fittings
My Fass 165 came with a replacement bolt for the bed bolt. Did your instructions tell you to place the 10 amp fuse in the top slot of the “add-a-fuse”? Mine did and I know it was incorrect.
I do not remember on the fuse. Unfortunately no replacement bed bolt. On the Cummins ones Ive installed it did come with a bed bolt.
Hey mark you need a ken onion
I second that!
You need to have filters with the flow rating similar to pump gph to have correct flow and filtering.
James Miller 100% agree man! Anything with lower flow rating would cause issues. With the filters I have here, the flow rate actually increases, making it easier on the pump.
Hey man I’m a little late but when you ordered the kit it came with both filters right? Sorry if it’s a dumb question 😂
What lift and tire size are you running?
They are 20x12s on 33s. Leveled 2.5" with factory keys.
Fuel filters should be lubricated in fuel not oil.
SAY. Mart I. HAVE A 3126 CAT CA. YOU. TELL. ME. WHAT TYPE OF. PUMP. DO I. NEED. MY. NAME. IS. LEO
What do you think of the new Chevy 2500hd paired with the 10 speed Allison?
Dan Bailey I honestly have yet to do a lot of digging into them justbyet.
What socket set do you have?
Sunex
Yep! SUnex 3/8" Master set

Lots of people bash the vat filters especially for lift pumps because they lie about micron ratings, so you see this as true? I need to replace mine and was just gonna go Donaldson filters.
I haven't heard of that. They offer an internal nylon woving to protect the pleats from collapsing which I really like.
What's the micron rating on the Donaldson filters?
What socket set is that?
Jonny Campbell looks like sunex
Yep! Sunex Master 3/8" set
Awesome thanks!
Im in PA as well😂😂
Do you know how to test a fass pump?
There is a port on the pump to check what PSI it is putting out. It is the little brass plug by the port that runs up to the engine.
