    Is there a pattern and instructions to make the bag and strap that I can purchase? It is beautiful! Also, what serger model were you using in the video?

    • @GailPatriceDesign

      Hi Yvonne, the pattern isn’t quite ready to sell yet. I always do multiple proofreading to be sure everything is correct. It will be finished soon. I will also schedule a Zoom class for it. My serger is a BERNINA L890 combo machine, but I’m very familiar with most brands and models. So if you have questions, I’ll be happy to help you. Thanks for asking about the pattern.(It’s actually kind of addicting. I’m making my 5th one right now!) The construction is easy and can be done on a sewing machine. The chainstitching was done on the serger. But all of the decorative stitches are built in on the sewing machine. Let me know if you need help with anything and I’ll be glad to hear from you !

    Great idea to put the grosgrain inside. I like this although I’d have to buy the binder to do it.

      I'll have instructions for how to do this technique on a sewing machine in the Crossbody Bag pattern. Thanks for watching!

    How wide is your strip, unfolded? Thanks.

    • @GailPatriceDesign
      @GailPatriceDesign  Год назад

      The binder is for a 36mm-wide fabric strip or 1 3/8-inches. You have to test the fabric width if you use something that is slightly thicker. The fabric in the video s a quilting weight cotton and the black bag fabric is a linen/cotton blend, just a bit heavier than the cotton. But I cut it the same width. Let me know if you have more questions and thanks for watching Serger Tip Clips!

    I honestly think it might be better done using a twin needle on a sewing machine - without the binder. Maybe fiddle around with the bobbin tension too.

      I think you would have more control over the play of the ribbon inside. The binder doesn't seem to place the ribbon flush against the sides. You need to use the iron with the twin needle before you sew.

      You can create the strap either on a sewing machine or serger, whichever you feel more comfortable with. Thanks!

      @@StrahaoftheRace Actually the ribbon is completely flat inside the strap. That's why the binder technique works so well. Thanks for watching!

      @@Keto9947 Hi Rosann, I will schedule a Zoom class as soon as I can nail down a date. Just putting the finishing touches on the pattern now! Thanks for asking and stay tuned for a date announcement!
