For varmints im a huge fan and lover of the .220 swift. Hard to beat. Great content sir. I appreciate your vids and work you're putting in for us. Shout out from the mnts of Virginia. God bless sir.
Thank you so much! God bless you as well! You being in Virginia makes you my neighbor... Cheers from Kentucky my friend! And yes the 220 swift is a classic!
Looking to build one here before too long. Being a reloader I got a good bit of h4350 to burn and Hodgdon says it can be used so once I can find some brass and build a gun I plan to use that and some 70-88 grain stuff to try out and see what results I can get. That was a pretty good group there with factory and being that it seems you are only a few rounds into the barrel, I think you will see some better results after about 100-150 rounds. Typically when the barrels lands start to get smooth and worn in good.
You are absolutely right. That is what has happened so far I've found the more rounds I've put through the more accurate it has gotten. Good luck on your build. Hope it turns into a tack drive my friend!
So far I've been enjoying it. The accuracy has been good so far and it seems the more i'm breaking the barrel in and get familiar with it the better it is getting... and now I'm wanting to get some chronograph speeds, and penetration/expansion tests soon in the future... I just found a box of the Hornady Black 75 grain finally Hornady is sending them out, and i ordered some. I will be doing a video on those whenever they come in. And you're welcome, thank you for watching!
On the chronograph get the new garmin. I have the magnetospeed sporter that i modified to work with a suppressor and a adjustable arca mount system so its not attached to the barrel. It never misses a shot with my sttachment system i can use it on diff rifles. But its time to upgrade so im about to sell my magnetospeed system for the garmin.
Yes, I have had many recommendations for the Garmin. I belive that is the route I am going to take as soon as I get the funds together for it. Thanks for your recommendation!
very interested in this caliber, understand it something new. I do have a question on magazine, the magazine that you are using fits in place of the standard pmag AR15 mag with no problems? The reason being is that I kinda want to build just an upper .22 ARC so I can swap with my standard AR15 upper.
@@dodgeboy90501 I have found some at cabelas but I use ammoseek to find ammo at different times.. it kind of difficult to find right now, I just happen to get lucky and buy some when it was in stock. You have to just keep an eye out for it..
6.5 grendel mags. Imo i have 20 asc mags (dont waste your money). 5 amend 2 (3 of them work) and 5 duramags (all of them work flawlessly and they have the longest id for reloading).
Exactly man! Hate to throw it out, its still got a few more years left in it! Lol... I was sighting in an AR pistol with a 10.5 inch barrel a few years ago, and wen I was shooting I didn't account for the muzzle blast which blew the seam apart on the bag. Like you said duct tape solves it all! 😂
Thanks for showing us those groups Ray!!
Love the drip on that rifle, your doing good keep it going brother

Thanks! Hope yours continues to be a tack driver as well!
Varmints it's 22-250 but for coyote it's going to be the 22 arc but still working on loads
That's awesome! Hope you find great success! I plan to get into reloading myself eventually. I've been saving all my brass!
Thanks for doing this on the edge about getting a 22 arc but I all ready bought dies lol

Are you at the Berea or Taylorsville Lake shooting range?
It's Taylorsville. Go there from time to time... though with this heat I haven't been lately lol

Yes it uses a standard magazine catch. But the magazine itself is for a 6.5 Grendel which does work with the standard AR15 mag well and catch.
@@Steelrunner Thanks for the reply. Are you ordering ammo from Hornady or through a third party?

Have one more question, are you using 556/223 BCG or a .22 ARC BCG? Is there a difference or does it matter? OK, two questions, lol.
My Caldwell bag looks the same. 😂🤣 little duck tape and she’s still kicking several years later.
