Off-Duty Police Officer Punches Driver in the Face

- Shocking video captured the moment an off-duty Connecticut cop punched a motorist. The drama started when Thomas Brocuglio honked his horn to get the driver in front of him to make a turn. The angry pickup driver got out of his vehicle, walked over to Brocuglio’s van and punched him in the face. Police found the suspect at home. Turns out, the suspect was a cop himself. Corporal Ganter was suspended for five days without pay and must attend anger management training for the next three years.

If the guy presses charges he will. His fate is really up to the guy he punched. If it’s after the fact he will be booked and formally charged after the victim gives a sworn statement and hands over the video. The cop admitted to it so the video is only necessary if he tried to waffle and change his statement.
I’ve witnessed a pretty gnarly assault that had nothing to do with me. One time in particular this guy got dropped, VICIOUSLY, by some drunk d*uche outside my bar when I was bartending without a bouncer.
Normally I’m going to stay out of it . But the nice sober guy who was struck lost consciousness briefly, so I felt OBLIGATED to call the police regardless. Just in the 1-1000 chance he had a concussion or was bleeding internally. I called the non emergency line and was flatly told the following.
“WE WILL NOT ARREST AND PROSECUTE UNLESS THE VICTIM GIVES A STATEMENT AND WANTS THE PERPETRATOR CHARGED.” Even though I saw it and had him dead to rights on cctv in 1080p. They wouldn’t even come out there. This was California, Sac County specifically.
"My fault for having no self control", so you're naturally violent. what a great guy to have on the force.

That's probably one reason they go into it.
That’s a requirement to get on the force for them
They didn’t even show the whole footage, first the off duty cop lies and says he didn’t punch no one, but then he finds out it is on camera then and he says he was wrong. SMH
If you can't control yourself in a "normal" and no dangerous situation, you can't be a cop. Must be fired right now.
He would just go to a different department in the next county over
This is why having a dashcam showing both in and outside the vehicle is so important.
This story doesn't mention that he tried to deny it at first, until the responding officer told him it was on dash cam.
