Especially a well educated minority or a woman who won't back down and will gladly put their asses in place with the facts and a phone recording the whole thing.
The fact the cop couldn't walk away shows just how terrible a cop he is. Can't control his anger, wonder how many times that anger made him falsely accuse someone or detain and harass them for nothing.
That’s the biggest thing I realized… when caught in his bigoted harassment he lashed out… Raising his voice & “throwing” his “weight” around in a demanding way. both Cops were escalating the interaction way beyond what was appropriate. Taking the “bad Cop” routine way to seriously. His correct response would be to apologize & leave quietly. (Something a die-hard racist finds impossible to do)
If you're a cop who doesn't know the law, you definitely can't inforce it. This so-called 'captain' doesn't exibit the proper temperment for the job. I would love to know what his conversation/ excuse was with his newbie when they got back in the car.

Yeah we need more Cops who don't actually know the law. Just for those of you who are ignorant of what it is to actually be disabled in a fashion meets the ADA I suggest you examine that law which requires a strict set of criteria to be met in regards to limited mobility. The HONOR PLATE that Texas started issuing years ago for Disabled Veterans does not have such a limited mobility requirement, and in fact a veteran who goes to the GYM to lift weighs or run on the treadmill was able to violate the ADA laws and park in a spot designated by the International Handicapped Sign. So a Corrupt Texan Politician decades ago bought votes of veterans who might just be Disabled because of a diagnoses of PTSD only, and no physical limitations. Texas SB 792 brought Texas back into compliance with Federal, and International Law. In closing it is hard to hold the government liable for this guys ignorance, but sometimes the attempts to be PC like calling Handicapped People Disabled instead of Handicapped creates this problem because of the ignorance of the differences displayed by many Americans. The hard on for your ID, especially if your black/Brown, is that they have to make a report of their encounters. So when they make up reports and they get your name and details, you are put in the system. Now weeks, months, years later you apply for a job, you make it to the Final rounds and het asked werd in contact with the police/law. It's unfortunate that a good recruit like that will have to constantly watch his own back when he gets assigned to a precinct. Can't be an honest and smart cop when cooped up with a bunch of lawless dumb cops.

The veteran must meet the eligibility requirements for a disabled parking placard or disabled person license plate featuring the ISA. I think this is what set off the captain guy, that the guy they were questioning passed the academy, but never actually became a cop, or wasn't currently a cop, so the Captain was like feeling superior because he was an "official" peace officer.
But the cops were right. Texas had to change the law because so many veterans with disabled plates, but without a disability that necessitated them to park in handicapped spots, were using the handicapped spots. So the law did change, requiring a state issued handicapped parking permit, and the guy in this video didn't know or just didn't care. He just wanted his free front row parking. He's a disgrace to actually handicapped veterans.
Hats off to this OFFICER! Exposing how these scumbags operate. Pulled up on a REAL one. Reminds me of the pigs who thought that they could mess with a black woman in Florida............until they found out that she was the State's Attorney.
Plot twist: the "vicitm" was dead wrong about the parking laws. An update to the law made it necessary to have a disability placard or ISA to use disabled parking. That makes "you don't even know the rules for parking!" the cringest line.
Interestingly enough, what sticks out to me is that the third officer says the laws about veteran disabled plate being able to park in a handicapped recently changed. Implying that they as officers don’t always know the changes. Yet as civilians, the second we enter a city, we don’t have the excuse of ignorance for not knowing laws. We will have to answer for breaking any law.
Officers were once taught to use their discretion to make judgement calls about stuff like this. Now any given infraction is money for the department budget. With that said, my time living in Philly involved only nice LEOs, and I had some interactions. I'm white, tho.
@@SeanQuinn4 yeah I’m white and I typically don’t have any run ins with law. But I have a degree in criminal justice so I have some exposure. For example, age of consent is not consistent among states as we know, yet, to the point of my original comment, we are required to know each states age of consent when we are there or we can be charged, yet realistically very few, including, myself ever look up each states statute. Maybe not a good example but an example nonetheless. But I’m also a registered republican. What more idiots who do not know that the officer who said the law changed last year in Sept. was correct, and that Texas Senate SB792 which passed in Sept. 21, and went into effect on Jan. 1st not only removes that privilege, but brings Texas back into compliance with the American Disabilities Act or ADA.
I suspect the Veteran who had just completed training to be a Police Officer did not meet this requirement or he would have been issued the Placard and/or Handicapped Veteran Plate by DMV. This is just another example of entitlement and selfishness with a total disregard for his fellow veterans who are physically handicapped.
In closing it is hard to hold the government liable for this guys ignorance, but sometimes the attempts to be PC like calling Handicapped People Disabled instead of Handicapped creates this problem because of the ignorance of the differences displayed by many Americans. If they want to honor Veterans then do as some like Home Depot have done and create special parking spots for them, but do not steal the precious few spots a parking spaces developers is required to provide under the ADA.
At the end of the day I don’t give exceptions to unjust situations just because the people being unjust fall in line with my political party. Even though I’m much more middle with a right lean. I didn’t at all comment to cause anyone to be defensive which I know plenty assume was my goal. I want people to see that you don’t have to have a hard line in the sand based on your political beliefs. Be objective and have a hard line in the sand on acknowledging right from wrong. What the cop said about the law changing was correct, and the guy behind the camera was spouting the old laws like it was the ancient scripture that could not be contested. LMAO. But, hey, when both sides are wrong.. the loudest wins, huh?
Bullying people is not part of the officer's job. As for this man he is in the right spot, wether its a placard or plate, both indicate a disabled person is in the car, this mear fact allows his to use the handicapped parking.
If the iofficer showed some smartness he would have started a relaxed convo and have a noemal civilized conversation. He would have had all his suestions answerred, niw he had to kick rocks and was no wiser.
