Another quality video! The hollow body is my go to for core. I've been pushing my limits and definitely needed to see this to keep my gooseneck in check. My suggestion for you is a video on the stalker press. Drills, suggested routine, mobility exercises, and all around knowledge on the movement. Its such a great challenge for bodyweight training.Cheers
Hey hey! Just saw your live on instagram! A topic I would like to see : - Your shoulder impingement protocol (as a physio, what are the exercises that you habitually prescribe) Thanks Daniel!
Your videos have helped me (a real bloody beginner) a lot already. Continuing to discover new tips every day as I go along with my training. Keep up the great work!
Great video as always Daniel! I have a loyal customer to Fitness for a while. I think me and many other people would love to see do a video on how to progress faster with Handstand and handstand push-ups training. Thanks a lot!
For a future topic, could you go in depth on scapula position and pull technique for muscle ups? There isn’t much info on this and the pull feels so different from your “perfect pull up video” that a hollow body pull up feels like a different move completely. Would love to hear your thoughts on the form and progression of this movement.
Great video! I would appreciate a video about how to start apply rings to your workouts. I’m sure you’re the right person to cover this topic though it seems like you enjoy using the rings as a workout tool.
I'm an acrobat (partner acrobatics/"Acroyoga") and hollow-body is probably one of the most essential tools across a huge variety of skills in our discipline (including handstands/inversions). So as a teacher and someone who uses hollow-body as such an integral and foundational part of our practice, I can say that this was a fantastic video. Well done with great cues, information and I love that you covered all parts of the body from head to toe what should be going on. Awesome job Daniel, thanks for making this video! :)
Can you make a video about breathing during exercise? It's good to know where the breath should come from. Also, how to maintain tension in the body w/o gripping too much?
Would love to see an updated handstand balancing and basics tutorial, I know you have a video on it from a while ago but could do with another, I have such a problem with holding my handstand balance for more than 3 seconds
Daniel, since you asked, please make a video about shoulder injuries and treatment routines as well as exercises to prevent things like tendonitis and bursitis. Thanks in advance
As you asked on you story, here's the one topic I need answer on currently : how to include skills training (planche, front lever, flag) into a strength & hypertrophy training (i.e. Body By Ring) to avoid fatigue accumulation ? Thanks already and have a nice day !
Saw your instagram Maybe something about recovering from an injury? I messed up my elbow a bit trying one arm tucked front levers and I don't know how to fix something like an elbow. Also, when should I start training again. I started doing a couple things to test out how Im doing and I can do a pull up with a little bit of pain.
Don't stress the elbow, that's obvious. I just have suffered from shoulder pain, and i recover it letting it rest (no workout for upperbody, that is the biggest pain) and doing a weird excercise to secrete synovial fluid in the shoulder cavity. I think the principle is the same in this case, move the elbow to make this fluid flow inside your elbow. Google "elbow pain excersices" plenty of them should help you.
Nice video! Is Christmas here yet because I'm ordering body by rings as a present to myself. These videos are wonderful and have prepared me for the next step. 36 is still young enough to get good results I hope 🤔
VID REQUEST: How to go from intermediate to advanced calisthenics. I've been at plateau for the past few months and don't feel like I'm making meaningful gainz. I know you have a bunch of vids on progress/improving advanced movements etc but I'd like something that teaches me to identify where I'm weak
A modification I made - rotating arms externally (palms facing eachother). Stretches lats at the same time + ensures elevated shoulders if you got tight lats like me :)
Aaaa!! 3:06 is cursed!! 😂 Also my lower body muscles (hip flexors and the other pelvic muscles) are quite strong with very weak abs. These lower body muscles take over during excercises and I can't ever feel the abs even with good form. Are there any that put max strain on abs?
Hi Daniel, thanks for the fantastic tutorial. I recently saw a video that suggested the hollow body hold was not useful for assisting handstands. What's your opinion?
One more thing if you look down doing this exercise will put unnecessary stress on your chest similar to not opening up your chest while doing a dip. It may cause sternum pain.
Daniel, nice video. Question on breathing. How about lateral breathing? Especially for transitioning into handstand since it's the optimal(?) way to breath in one?
The hardest part is the breathing, is hard to breathe in normally and plus it seem that I lose tension in the abs when I btreathe in and I lose strenght.
Hey if not mistaken i saw a video about bloating abs and one of the cause is bcos u breath with ur stomach u should breath but still keep it lean not just breath and let it go
Maybe you could address the problem of uneven pulling strenght in shoulders? When i do pullups one of my shoulders goes higher. I started having this problem after not working out for 3 months and coming back to calisthenics.
Have you tried strengthening your scapula pull ups first? These are a great preparatory strength exercise for pull ups that should sort your shoulder alignment out. Daniel Radnal covers them in this video: ruclips.net/video/XB_7En-zf_MO/видео.htmlr Dan Jeong goes into a lot of detail here: ruclips.net/video/wu_96cp4nEkO/видео.htmlr just learning to master the mind-to-muscle connection will really help you so that you tense the right muscles in a balanced way.
The hollow body is an interesting exercise. While it looks simple, for me when done right, it is one of the hardest. What do you think about a hollow body pulse? I find that when I pulse the movement in a 3-0-2-1 tempo I tire very, very quickly. Do you think anything bad can happen with a pulse version of the exercise?
Serious question: hope you still check comments: with regards to the leg portion of this hold, you talk about pointing your feet. what would the pro/con be of the opposite though- curling your feet in (which youll feel in your hamstring a bit), when doing something like leg raises, I tend to just by habit, curl in my feet.. but is there a difference between that and a hold? or is there no downside to whichever direction feet point
Depends on your level and what is your goal. Like i would say handstand push ups but if you cannot do them, you should do something else. If you want to be able to do handstand push ups you should do progression exercises for handstand push ups. If you want to do the planch there are progression exercises for the planch that involve the shoulder muscles. Also there is no one exercise that is best for all shoulder muscles. It also depends on the workout type that you are doing for example whether isometric or plyometric.

I wish I was as cut as your hair :)

Your 'not breathing' portrayal expression is hilarious :-D

Thanks Daniel!
I like how serious his is most of the time so when he does act silly its sweet.
Great video and tips! Btw, when you did the "holding breath" face I laughed my ass of sooooo good job
All advice on point. This is a killer exercise for the TVA
Your videos have helped me (a real bloody beginner) a lot already. Continuing to discover new tips every day as I go along with my training. Keep up the great work!

The way he looked at the camera after holding his breath. 🤣
This video is so immaculately perfect, with such precise and illustrative information, that is no wonder how it has 1K likes and just 2 dislikes.
As usual, clear in-depth instructions
Good feed. Personal note: @ 1.25 - Shoulders to Head + @5.00 - Summary
You are just the best one who can advise in hollow body abs training thank you
Extremely helpful, just started at age 55. needed this video right now. Thanks

Well done Daniel. Please consider a video on refining line of HS’s and specifically mitigating overbalance tendencies.
Thanks Daniel, i was really expecting this video. And coming out from you, is the best treat!

Technique is always the priority!
More videos of your training and training goals ! and maybe some tips or video or your story of the one arm handstand
Possible topic: Some tips on how to keep training in certain ways when having a small injury? How to optimize recovery, etc etc.
More nutrition videos? Something I am interested in.
As you asked on you story, here's the one topic I need answer on currently : how to include skills training (planche, front lever, flag) into a strength & hypertrophy training (i.e. Body By Ring) to avoid fatigue accumulation ? Thanks already and have a nice day !

I am hoping to show my transformation soon!
Nice, got to correct one or two of them, thanks!

Please, make a video with tips for tall guys, specially pull ups.
You need a higher mounted bar, or just bend your knees. You’re welcome.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who shakes a little when in a hollow body position.

Amazing this video is 5 years old & he just released another depicting the same exericse, there were NO changes in technique!
Do you have any tips for hollow body rocks?
really needed this video. how long to hold and how many should we do?
I recommend everyone to do 1 to 3 years of gymnastics. It gives you so many good habits and your body placement will be perfected
Evan Laulom live in indonesia.. leave alone gymnastic club, i even have to buy good gymnastic rings online from other country.. so sad...
Evan Laulom In the uk i havent found a single club tha mt takes on over 18s that have never done gymnastics.
