    Sweet rig, Mike. It looks like you've got a great rack on top that you can expand with even more solar when the time comes. Nice interior too - well thought out. Just add a few finishing touches and you're done. We have an older 35ft motorhome that we live in FT off-grid. We fitted it with over 5,000 watts of solar and 23.5 kwh of batteries to power our 12k EG-4 28.5 Seer-2 heat pump, front roof mounted A/C and all our appliances 24/7 just like we were plugged into a power pole at an RV park. If you're having problems with your Growatt all-in-one, I'm running a 48v Sungold Power 5,000w all-in-one inverter/100a charger/charge controller that I love. I chose this model because it is rated for 500v solar input, and I have a 400voc array.

    Rig looking good! I'm sure someone has done it, but I have yet to see a peep hole in a door in a cargo conversion. Anyone know why or would it be a worthy option?

    I love your show.i have been toying with the cargo/camper idea for awhile myself.Question...has any cargo trailer camper you know of ever been turned away from a campground because it didn't have a RVIA sticker or decal on it? Rv miles reported that this is happening

    • @billanddeb
      @billanddeb  3 дня назад

      Very few private campgrounds will allow cargo trailer conversions. However, zero issues at Federal Campgrounds and State Park Campgrounds. We mostly stay at Corp of Engineer campgrounds. They are fairly plentiful in the eastern half of the country and the price can't be beat. Average cost is $30 per night or less, and, if you're 62 or older, you qualify for the America The Beautiful Senior Pass, which gets you a whopping 50% discount. They are also usually on a pretty lake or stream, and you're not packed in like sardines.

    Looking at building one the size of yours. What size truck are you using. Gas or diesel..1500 or 2500. How does it do...would you recommend heavier duty. Etc. Thanks. I like what you have done with everything. Thanks.

    There is no way that 1800 watts of solar can charge a 14 KW battery from dead to full in 3.5 hours as he stated.

    • @Tony-pq3xv
      @Tony-pq3xv 3 дня назад

      I caught that as well. Still impressive solar capacity though.

      Meant to say top off the battery. Rarely use more than 6Kw paer day which is what I can recoup in 3.5 hours of sun.

    How do people even find out about these meetups? Might be interested in coming to one, but can't find any information on dates/locations.

    • @billanddeb
      @billanddeb  3 дня назад +1

      Most of our Rendezvous are held at US Army Corp of Engineer campgrounds. COE campgrounds only allow reservations to be made no more than 6 months in advance. So, we announce the next Rendezvous here on the RUclips channel with dates and location just barely inside that 6 month window. So, the best way to know when and where the next Rendezvous will be is to subscribe, then tap the bell to get notifications when we release a new video. A word of caution,,,,,,usually when we make the announcement, the campground is fully booked in a couple of days. So, if you see the announcement and you wish to attend, we strongly recommend you make the reservation then. 2 or 3 days after the announcement, it could be too late. In addition, we always include the link to make the reservation.

    Hope he has a fire extinguisher and another way out incase he has to.

    • @billanddeb
      @billanddeb  2 дня назад +1

      Although we didn't talk about it, 99.99% of every single walk thru videos we done (around 90) have all had fire extinguishers (some have more than one). As far as 2 forms of exit, there's the front side door, and the emergency egress window at the drivers side rear, all covered in the first few minutes of the video.

    • @RyanPerkins-y7z
      @RyanPerkins-y7z День назад

      @@billanddeb yah but his bed was to the back with no other exit that I saw or heard of in video

    • @billanddeb
      @billanddeb  День назад +1

      @RyanPerkins-y7z look again at around 5:20 in the video. The egress window is located towards the rear, on the drivers side of the trailer. The bed is located close to the middle of the trailer facing north/south on the passenger side of the trailer. On the inside of the trailer, the rear egress window back near the composting toilet, again, on the drivers side rear of the trailer. Two means of emergency egress. The front side door located towards the front passenger side, the rear egress window, located at the rear drivers side. In fact, the composting toilet would probably make a perfect step up to get out through the window.
