@@blendlinegarage42 I opted for the 2500 Ultra Supreme (essentially double coated - since it wasn’t all that much more than a single) and it was around $500 at the time. I picked up my complete system during a Black Friday sale so the discount basically covered the cost of the ceramic coating.

I’m worried I’ll miss the torque but I know I’ll gain something else that’s amazing with driving dynamics and that engine sound

I can tell you this, I had a friend who went from GT4 to G80 and he regretted it (had to bc he needed a family car). I am also a manual fan but the pdk is justt sooo good

@@blendlinegarage42 Yeah, mine is not a daily either...track db limits in UK kinda suck though so that's my only real concern...having listened to videos where they do the headers too I think that gets too loud...so yeh, closest to GT3 sound is the setup you've got...I just completed break-in...so first few times getting up in the RPM range does sound pretty good from inside the car hehe...but I know I will need an exhaust

Congrats on GT4RS. I checked with my dealer abt my GT4 warranty and they said unless you are adding headers and/or a custom tune, it wont impact your warranty.
@blendlinegarage42 - I plan to install a JCR OAP. Do you think I can perform the job with the following limitations? 1. Using mechanic ramp (backing it up to the ramp; not using jackstands) 2. Without removing rear wheels (since I'm using a ramp)
yeah hopefully I can find a local GT4 with a that setup and we can do a comparison. Based on all the videos I've watched online, the OEM backbox and Akra OAP sound deeper. With JCR exhaust you get a much higher pitched tone (due to titanium construction)
Hey there I've got exactly same set up except that my jcr end is silenced. The car sounds truely amazing. Do you think you will be considering headers as well in the future? As i get used to the sound i feel like i want something more. I'm afraid it will make the car too damn loud even for me but if there's a way to make it just little bit more louder and acheive higher tone, i would definately get it.
I totally hear you and feel the same. Next mod for me is the BMC air filter which will increase the intake noise and give exhaust just a touch more volume. I will post results once I do that and perhaps do a dyno run with the new setup
Any issues with the studs? Obsessed garage guy struggled a bit with those. Are they all studs or are a couple studs or what? Thanks! Also do you find this setup a bit too loud in the cabin now?
yeah actually my friend who was helping me ended up unscrewing the stud instead of the nut. so we ended up using the double backing nut method (or whatever its called) similar to the obsessed garage guy. That being said the other nuts came of loose no problem. All of them are double side threaded studs. One end is screwed into the cat flange the other side protruding where oap gets hung on and then bolt goes on the threaded stud clamping the oap flange to cat flange. it is def louder but in a good way (to my taste). Only downside is drone with jcr backbox at around 2500-3k
That thing sounds nasty as fuck definitely the way to go with running an exhaust on this car it sounds good at literally all Rev ranges.... Readouts are based off a number of factors how the dyno is calebrated as well as temp altitude barometer etc. Also when doing these upgrades it may be wise to get a tune done to bring on the full effects of the upgrades even on a na car. Turbo car for example you do a downpipe intake intercooler piping etc you're not going to see any gains until you tune it.. I fact it may reduce the power until tuned... Also I understand it's frustrating but theirs nothing wrong with that plate getting bent as you tighten it down you're being way to nit picky about that. Also those high pressure clamps don't have anything that tells you okay it's too tight or tight enough so you kindof gotta eyeball it literally 1/4 turn too tight it'll snap
100% on everything you said. I figured I had to just stop at some point after tightening those clamps cause they would just keep going without much resistence.
I'm currently running soul race header, soul over axle pipe, and souls valved exhaust system on my 718 GT4. It's way too loud. When I get my gt4rs I'm just going to do the over axle pipe.
Thank you! Akra OAP was selling for around $2K USD when they were brand new (what a bargain compared to other titanium OAPs like JCR). Unfortunately they are not imported to US so I bought it from a fellow GT4 owner for about the same price and brand new. The closest you can get to this on market is from Flat6 motorsport for $1.7K but those are made out of steel and not by akra.
The only issue you should have is with emissions. I'd call your dealer and ask them first they may work out a deal where they still honor warranty so long as you allow them to install the exhaust setup you'd just be paying the premium for porsche mechanics. When this is something anyone can do alone
How about having the car smog tested to find out if it passed or not? I know you can always put back the stick pieces to get it too smog but if the catalytic converters are still on the car it almost surely will pass more than likely.
