Looks like Freya had a great time. You found some lovely bockidy spots, nothing like it 😁 The 360 camera is very cool, on a multi day hike it would be fantastic for the variety of shots. Cheers for the video, I had me tea while you had your coffee. Amazeballs 😂
Freya feckin loves being out. Never seen a dog so happy in the outdoors. Yeah I can't feckin believe I said amazballs 🤣 some tool. Yeah the 360 is cool but a very locational camera. Thanks for the comment.
Hi Martin. The footage is good and realistic when the camera is head height or below. It looks a bit globe like when over head height. You got a lovely day for your hike. It must be hard to eat a sandwich with that begging face of Freia looking at you 😊. All the best👍
Cheers Andrew pal. Yeah it's a weird camera to navigate. Such a unique perspective. Will be out with the Sony camera this weekend. Can't wait to give it a go. I hear you with Freya. The start of her life was so so hard and look at her now. Couldn't be happier for her and happy to share.... Sometimes 😁
I like the footage from that camera. It can add to what you normally do, so if its not too much hassle to bring it along then I think you should keep it. As for the kids friendly version, why not just do one for all. What are us adults going to loose?
Thanks for the advice. You got me thinking 🤔. Thanks. And yes it's no hassle bringing the 360 camera. Packs small and even one battery would last for the length of time needed.
Well Martin how are things? 360 is very good and so are the other cameras, it's good to have for different angles, it has a time and place, would be good if you keep it to be honest, however, I find the audio is different, not as good as the other cameras you use, i don't know much about it or if you can use a mic with, maybe a different audio setup would make me love it more, still not sure about it, maybe a couple more videos might persuade me 👍
Cheers Pal. It's a weird ole camera but more for action sports. Will keep playing around with it. Heading out camping this weekend all with the Sony and the quality difference is chalk and cheese. Such an incredible camera. Hope all is well with you pal. Thanks for the comment.
I think the 360 is good in small doses - it provides an interesting but exaggerated perspective. However, I prefer the conventional action-cam view - it’s more realistic.
The X3 is an ok camera in that it gives the possibility to get 3rd person views of you in the landscape, as well as decent talking head shots with still enough of the background and not just your head, something a vlogging DSLR may give. You seemed to change your settings about halfway through from washed out and very contrasty to more vibrant. Was it a white balance shift or a colour profile shift from log to vivid? One big thing about insta360 cams and GoPro etc is that they are at their best in sunlight. I usually use about 4 or 5 types of shots with the 360, as long as they are not too 'obviously' drone-like with extreme shifts in view, you should be ok. At the end of the day the video quality from a GoPro or Action 4, will be more consistent from the centre to the edge of the shot. With the X3, quality definitely suffers towards the edge. Then again how often do you look at the edges when watching a video shot on an ordinary camera. Last thing, and underestimated in importance, is sound quality. The mind will forgive poorer visual quality but not poor sound. You have that well in hand with the DJI mic. I guess there is no one-size-fits-all, you just have to decide what you want to film and how much you're willing to carry.
Well pal. You absolutely summed it up. Half way through I changed the settings from wide to dewarp. That might have changed the colour settings. I had always thought of getting the camera and then I remember picking your brain about it. A may hold on to it. It will come in handy some times. Cheers for the comment pal. Hope all is well.
Freya is a beautiful dog. Rescues are the best!

Another quality video, I would keep the camera, it helps give a different perspective.
Appreciate that pal. I am always considering bike packing and this would be an ideal camera for that.
