Henry don't stop the videos. The adventures alone are just as good as the photography you produce. It's encouraging to see even legends like yourself struggle with photography at times.
"The REALITY" is exactly why I love watching you. It truly inspires me to keep pushing on. Just knowing that I'm not the ONLY ONE who experiences this stuff is awesome!! Thank you Henry Turner!!
You definitely have a unique approach to photography. That's why I started watching you when you had several thousand followers and soon 100,000. Congratulations on another great video
Henry, Henry, you just need to slow down and look around you. I have seen some great comps behind you! I know you get excited, but just calm down and slow down!
Loads of people have already said it in the comments, but this is why people, myself including, watch your channel.. because you're REAL! We all have bad days (most of mine to be fair!) But the difference is, you still choose to film yours!
A walk in nature is never wasted. And schizophrenic weather is what gives Brits our stoic character. You're usually a ray of positivity. One (rightly) annoyed video won't lose you followers. It's actually very endearing. And the pay off views were amazing. Patience is its own reward.
You're one hell of a photographer and a truly passionate guy. Passion has its darker side as well as those glorious moments. So, don't worry about the negativity of today's Video.
If you are vertical and above the dirt, it's a good day and never a waste. Yes, you can't hit the ball out of the photographic park every time but as the stoics say; "Stillness is the key". Sometimes the best thing is to slow down and just enjoy the day. If we go out and try to force the photographic creativity that very rarely works. If you get a photograph or two that just adds to making it a good day. Line from an old Simon and Garfunkel song; "Slow down you move to fast. . .you got to make the morning last. . .just kicking down the cobble stones. . .looking for fun and feeling groovy." Cheers.
This is why you stand out from the crowd Henry , because you show it how it is , genuine , from the heart .... no one goes out and has the perfect shoot everything, and it's good to see you showing that .
I chatted to a friend recently about your videos… the one thing I highlighted to him was how you show the ups and the downs of landscape photography, something we all experience and assume it only applies to us.. if you only showed the positives, it wouldn’t be a true indicator of this hobby we love.. if you play football as a hobby, you can’t expect to score every game, however much you want to.. please continue to post these unsuccessful trips as well as the successful ones as it helps to reinforce the reality of our quest to bag those great shots… keep up the good work and thank you for sharing 👌🏼
Henry. Glad you put this one out. It shows what reality is like probably for most of us. This is the real side of landscape photography for me and I actually find it most enjoyable. You got some great shots at the end showing every cloud has a silver lining. That telephoto lens certainly came into it's own. Whenever I get days like this, I just think of all that's going on in less fortunate places in the world and how lucky I am to be able to get out into our great countryside here in Yorkshire. Keep going and don't alter a thing..
Love your adventures, Henry. Sometimes it‘s a good idea to have an open mind as you walk. You can waste your time visualising an image, if the image isn’t there. You missed many beautiful images. Just stop, close your eyes, take a few deep breaths, open your eyes and you‘ll see something. Gets rid of the frustration. That sky at 23:43 was amazing! Persistence and patience paid off in the end! You need to slow down a bit😊
I just love how excited you get. So much fun. I was laughing early when you were saying you're just wandering around not taking any photographs. You got there. You got there.
Henry, we all have days like that: but your out in nature & sharing ur adventures with us which is fantastic. And it’s my local region too so it’s great to see it from a different perspective which ur videos provide. Onwards, always onwards, but always remember to look back sometimes!
Good choice posting your video we want to see real feelings and turner rants 🤣👌 for me its all about watching your journey its almost like am there with you 🙌 thats what is more important for me, when i have no choice but to stay at home watching my kids.. i can allways turn on the tv and tag along a nice hike in the Uk.
Henry, the amazing thing is we work up this idea in our head, and we never seem to get what the image we see there on our camera. I just keep taking pictures and then when I get home, I can enjoy them or delete them, or upload them on my Flickr page and let others tell me if they like them or not. We are our own worst critics.
It’s crazy how much the conditions change during the day, glad you stuck it out and you were rewarded in the end. Keep doing what you’re doing you are an inspiration to us all 😊
Thanks for sharing that one Henry, glad your perseverance paid off in the end. It certainly helps those of us who aren't professionals to remember that sometimes it's a combination of luck and timing that allows anyone to get epic shots. Also a good reminder that it's always good to focus on an enjoyable walk as the objective and the photos are the bonus feature!
Henry we have all been there and had days like that. We need the light. Do you stop and wait and hope or go on? Also for landscape the right kind of cloud can really make it work. The early part of todays adventure just highlights you persistance. Thanks keep them rolling.
I enjoyed the video as usual Henry. What a journey you had and i felt really sorry for you, but as you said that's reality. I was so pleased that you managed to get some really nice image's at the end. I look forward to seeing your next adventure. Atb, Tim.
There have been enough times being out and about, hoping for "that shot" and I get soaking wet due to a surprise rain downpour or so cold due to the horrible windchills during winter. I head home, hoping that all of a sudden, a shot appears. I get home and I have the best cup of tea and I think about the camera still tucked away in my bag. But that is alright. I went out, got some fresh air, had time to myself and think of all sorts and it ends up being a very good outing. Cheers on you Henry for taking us on your adventures.
Hi Henry. I cannot express the empathy I feel for you during the first 6 minutes or so of your video. I've been through similar moments of frustration many times. But like you said, some you win and some you lose. The important thing is to go out there. If the atmosphere is not right, the best thing to do is not lose control, study the locations, find compositions, take notes and save it all for the next time. Building a library of locations that fall under ones criteria of composition and creativity. This video comes as a very good reminder that there is a lot more to landscape photography than what most people would expect. Cheers mate!
Of course I stayed till the end, Henry! The only way to avoid a day like yours is not to go out at all - and we know that that is the worst sort of decision for a landscape photographer to make. Glad you pushed through your frustration, and posted the video - it helps all of us to see that even Henry Turner has days like the one reflected here. Cheers!
😂loved the frustration, I can so recognize it sometimes. Still, you can do it whenever you want. We had similar conditions this week in the Netherlands, but I was stuck at my job 😢, different kind of frustration.
You're distilling the thoughts of many of us - being in the right place at the right time is rarely straightforward, and often down to Lady Luck, hence the reason why we end up with at best a couple of handfuls of images that we're happy with in any one year! Keep on doing what you're doing H...
This video is more about life than photography. We run around frustrated and forgetful, stressing over what we did / didn't do. And if we just keep moving forward, we find beauty. Maybe not the beauty we were looking for at the start, but beauty none the less.
The reality of the scramble is nice to see… a well curated perfect channel where nothing goes south is just boring… well done in publishing this either way!😂🎉🎉🎉
Over the years I’ve learnt that you just stick to plan A. It’s almost certain that there will be ‘better’ images to be had elsewhere, but for the odd occasions that pivoting pays off, you have about ten days like this one. Stick to plan A and you’ll never have a day like this again. I imagine it’s very difficult trying to record a video and create a story at the same time as well. Anyhow, stick to the plan - I’m sure it will help you.
You're so British. A cup of tea makes everything better. 😊 I can't help it, I smiled through the whole video. You are so real. I love that about you. I watch you struggle to stay positive. So human. So you. Whatever you do, it's a pleasure to spend time with you on your adventures each week. Whatever happens.
Henry, it wouldn't be landscape photograohy with out chaos. But, you stuck it out and nabbed a couple of beautiful shot. I didnt know if I myself love the Adventure more, or the photography more until I realized they are intertwined. Love this adventure Henry because you were down and yet you conquered
This is actually encouraging for me, though I feel for you in the moment and what you are experiencing. I have noted it before but again I will state, what a down to earth reminder of reality videos like this are. I tend to get less discouraged when I experience days like this one you are sharing, Henry. So, thank you. I have to edit this because I made the above comment about half way through the video before things changed. But what's there is still true. I like the photos at 18:40 and 19:25, especially.
I enjoyed this episode as there is a good lesson here, patience pays off, I do forget that frequently. I hate wet feet and cold hands, I use Vallerret Gloves with a a liner and they help but are not as warm as I hoped for. My boots a clunk and heavy, but warm and dry particularly if I am tromping through snow.
Thankfully Henry managed to stay the course and was rewarded with that brilliant change of conditions😱 And even managed to get a couple of good images 👍. Congratulations on another Wainwright 👏👏. 73/214 🇦🇺
somedays the old braincell gets stuck in a terminal spin, the grass being always greener elsewhere and the frustration builds and builds. I definitely have many days like this and I don't live in an area that has so many wonderful views. I think having such a landscape on your doorstep and being able to see locations miles away that have more favoured conditions is worse when the brain cell is like this, I often think I should have stayed in bed, but I am so pleased you haven't done that. Your amazing channel shows life with the highs and los of both photography and mental head space, you are a complete star for making all of this content. And look what happens in a moments notice, those images are so beautiful, not sure if I believe in fate but sometimes it just happens that you end up in the perfect location. Don't change Henry, it's great to have a you tuber that is honest and shows all the good and bad moments that our headspace gives us.
Now that was a just reward for sticking with it Henry, you definitely got a peach of an image or two at the end and that was landscape photography in a nutshell as you just never know and all of a sudden its about seizing the moment.
Hey Henry! Its OK! Its a win, we are entertained! I have been there. Too excited to stop. Once, i missed an epic sunset at Canyonlands because i lost patience and thought it was over, and left my spot. I was furious with myself.
To be honest I'm really happy to see the beautiful images you took, all that frustration was gone!! And yes we were watching till the very end! Cheers mate!!
Just being out in such an awesome landscape is enough, though I would have tried for a few images in the fog as well. In the end, it paid off with a stunning vista, and that's why getting outside as much as possible is so important to getting an image.
I have had my phone run out of battery power before and yes I have needed to know the time - guess what , yes I set the clock on the camera and so I was able to see the clock! /// getting stuck in wanting a specific image is tough but it does pay to stop for a moment and let some time pass! I am glad you posted this!
Love the wee cow on your dashboard! Could have used crampons on your boots. Bummer, sorry you were disappointed. Great pity party 😊. Always an adventure with you. Amazing change in conditions!
....... And breathe. Thank you for your honesty, it was still a good adventure. Probably the distraction of doing a livestream reset your brain, well done for persevering through your struggles,,,,, keep doing what you do

Dramatic skies at the start and end if your video. I had to laugh - 'Henry's a Headless Chicken' I was thinking , then you confirmed my thoughts within seconds - Seemed like you were on the Under Loughrigg road, Ambleside at first, but I think it was just a looky-likey. Cheers Henry, always entertaining.
Slow down. Just look around the view is beautiful. Don’t just look for the one, look for what’s around you! It’s a little less frustrating and then you can enjoy the beauty around you instead of kicking yourself for not being in the right place at the right time. I enjoy your videos.
Hi Henry, what a mad day out, but thanks for sharing .. it just goes to show that if you stick with it, occasionally you get a very unexpected reward, as indeed you did. One little hint, take the jetboil out with you, a brew when you're feeling a bit low can really lift the spirits.
Of course I'm still here at the end, keep the reality of Landscape photography, be it running around like a headless chicken or stood for hours in one place convinced thing will change for the better . . . . . Sometimes they do 😁 Keep the real life adventures coming mate.
Henry, my gloves live in that part of my back pack where you’re supposed to lug a heavy lap top, (that’ll be the day) also hand warmers and a woolly hat 😉
Yep, you missed some great possible images around the 15:25 mark - black and whites of that fence line leading up into the grey cloud. Simple stuff but I know what it's like when you have a negative head on.
Henry. Is it wrong of me to laugh at your statements. Absolutely loved the video. I'm glad you posted it. I watched it to the end. I've been guilty of switching from 'Plan A'. Sometimes I get angry we only have 26 letters in our alphabet! Keep the videos going. I'm always itching to get out with my camera after watching them. Thanks for the inspiration.
This is exactly why I follow you. Genuine, grounded and so ‘real’. Love it mate! Don’t ever stop.
Henry don't stop the videos. The adventures alone are just as good as the photography you produce. It's encouraging to see even legends like yourself struggle with photography at times.

This is why you stand out from the crowd Henry , because you show it how it is , genuine , from the heart .... no one goes out and has the perfect shoot everything, and it's good to see you showing that .

Henry you are 'Nuts" in the most kindness of ways. Your vids are always inspirational keep 'um' coming
I giggle each time I hear Henry say "Absolute class, man!" in the most (self-)sarcastic way possible. You're a champ, Henry! 😀👍
Love your adventures, Henry. Sometimes it‘s a good idea to have an open mind as you walk. You can waste your time visualising an image, if the image isn’t there. You missed many beautiful images. Brilliant! Mother nature was annoyed with your complaints and went "Let's show him what we can do!" 😂
I just love how excited you get. So much fun. I was laughing early when you were saying you're just wandering around not taking any photographs. You got there. You got there.
Sometimes, we don't get what we want, but we'll never get what we want staying indoors... Take it easy. Don't be so hard on yourself.
Henry, we all have days like that: but your out in nature & sharing ur adventures with us which is fantastic. And it’s my local region too so it’s great to see it from a different perspective which ur videos provide. Onwards, always onwards, but always remember to look back sometimes!

Always enjoy your walks Henry! Photos or not the landscapes are beautiful!! Thank you for taking us along with you 📷
We all have these days, Henry. I know I have them too, and I'm glad you got to turn it into something positive after your livestream!
Henry, I saw a sign of something that Bob Ross said, "Nature is so fantastic. Enjoy it. Let it make you happy."

The pictures you took Henry, were worth sticking around for.
As maximus said "are you not entertained" yes we are Henry a real video about the frustrations of landscape Photography
Thanks for showing something that’s just honest and real. I mean it’s life. Keep it up, mate! 💪💪💪
Henry, perseverance pays off.

Glad it turned around after all the backwards and forwards 😂
That light looked stunning at the end !
Every experience is a learning experience.
Glad you kept with it, lovely shots

WOW! Crazy weather for sure. Good thing you stuck around. Fantastic light.

Like the soft sepia tone trees in the mist👍
To be honest I'm really happy to see the beautiful images you took, all that frustration was gone!! And yes we were watching till the very end! Cheers mate!!
Henry, one of your very best videos, honest and real. Then you got your reward. Perhaps a new career beckons as The Grumpy Photographer. Well done. K

Great Video, Henry. Thanks for taking us along on the journey. And what a journey. Some beautiful light there toward the end.
A tough day Henry, I'm glad you carried on with the video and you got there in the end. Well Done Quick Brew. I look forward to your next adventure.
Fear not, Mr. Henry. The video is great as it is. 👍
Love the wee cow on your dashboard! Could have used crampons on your boots. Bummer, sorry you were disappointed. Great pity party 😊. Always an adventure with you. Amazing change in conditions!
Another classic video, keep them coming, next time you're at Sedgwick in the mist go to Low Park, you won't be disappointed.
Mad it may have been , but so worth it in the end 🙂 hats of to you for sticking it out
Glad that light finally showed up and saved the day Henry, great stuff
....... And breathe. Thank you for your honesty, it was still a good adventure. Probably the distraction of doing a livestream reset your brain, well done for persevering through your struggles,,,,, keep doing what you do
henry it is normal to feel frustrated i feel it aswell time to time myself when i am out and walking about with my camera but when i feel it creep up on me i just try to remind myself to breath and remember that i don´t have to come home with photo´s just getting out is a win sometimes cheers mate and take care well wishes from a fellow photographer
Very entertaining and a reminder that those days happen to all of us “raging!” 😂
I'll always stay to the end, love your little adventures plus I learn more things from your vids to help with my photography
Enjoyed your video thanks for posting 👍
Slow down. Just look around the view is beautiful. Don’t just look for the one, look for what’s around you! It’s a little less frustrating and then you can enjoy the beauty around you instead of kicking yourself for not being in the right place at the right time. I enjoy your videos.
😒..." And then this happened"...😁 And we all were incredibly rewarded!
Thank you, Henry, for your perseverance.
HAHAHA you had me laughing at "Camera tucked away cozy in the bag" HAHAH Genius
A highly entertaining vlog and good to see you didn’t leave the day empty handed. Nice to meet you that morning.
Stuck around until the end. BRILLIANT 👌
same happened to me last weekend, we are all human. onwards and upwards. thx for sharing Henry.
Great video Henry felt your frustration at the start but got there in the end, the photos were amazing with the light😊
I almost gave up…as you did! I’m sure glad I hung in to the end! Great images…maybe some of your best! Thanks for taking me along!!
So relatable.
Hi Henry, what a mad day out, but thanks for sharing .. it just goes to show that if you stick with it, occasionally you get a very unexpected reward, as indeed you did. One little hint, take the jetboil out with you, a brew when you're feeling a bit low can really lift the spirits.
From a bad start,to a great finish and funny in the middle great vid.
wow I really enjoyed your video and was thinking 'boy he's walking past all these fantastic shots' ..and then the final reveal -fantastic!
Oh Henry to dam funny but I know that feeling it happens keep the vids coming our lad propper had me giggling this one tho bless ya 😂😂❤😂😂😂❤❤

Of course I'm still here at the end, keep the reality of Landscape photography, be it running around like a headless chicken or stood for hours in one place convinced thing will change for the better . . . . . Sometimes they do 😁
Keep the real life adventures coming mate.
Henry, my gloves live in that part of my back pack where you’re supposed to lug a heavy lap top, (that’ll be the day) also hand warmers and a woolly hat 😉
I stayed to the end of the video.. great honest video Henry .
Henry it pay of for you 👍 well persevered mate .. wonderful photos 😊
Henry are at hawkshead on the video at the end on the hill …!
Yep, you missed some great possible images around the 15:25 mark - black and whites of that fence line leading up into the grey cloud. Simple stuff but I know what it's like when you have a negative head on.
Excellent real video mate, nice to know I'm not the only one like lunatic on a photoshoot 😂
You should have looked to your left at 23:03, lots of interesting weather happening there too!
An inspirational video Henry. Cheers 😂
