That's just how late 90s-mid 2000s trailers were, complete with the pop music and some shots being normal speed but then speeding up significantly and then going back to normal speed.
People forget how well made this movie is. The makeup is amazing and so is the cinematography.
Yes. It was made in 2003 and the effects look awesome. Underworld Blood Wars made in 2017.
The effects look like they came from a cheap video game. If they make an Underworld 6. Hopefully they do it old school.
Because the effects of William Corvinus in Underworld Evolution in 2006 is triple better than Marius in Underworld Blood Wars in 2017.

I feel like vampires would really enjoy period movies...
Kate Beckinsale did a phenomenal and spectacular job portraying Selene as she put tons of emotion and depth into her role. This is one of her most greatest, iconic, and memorable roles in cinema.😍😎👍💯😏
Her break came with Pearl Harbor, a bad film to be sure but then again shes made a long and lucrative career appearing in bad films.

It was something new, fresh, unique, inventive, stylish, cool, edgy, hip, and updated as they took the whole " Romeo and Juliet" concept and theme to a another level as it was just constructed perfectly from the very beginning to the end. The story, performance's, music, action sequences, and special effects was outstanding and incredible. I just finished watching this on Hulu. This is action horror at it's finest! (Aside from Aliens) Selene is such a badass! I'm thinking about watching the other films now. 10/10

So I just watched this movie on Netflix and WOW this movie was ahead of its time. This movie came out in 2003 and today in 2020 it would be a hit.
This movie was a hit. It made over 4 times it's budget at the box office and they made 4 sequels to it.
Me too just watched it and really got into it. And usually I’m really not into watching movies, but I was curious and I gotta watch the rest of it now. Lol

I found out about this movie series cos of my dad years ago and I’ve loved it since.
Underworld, resident evil and lord of the rings are definitely my favorite movie series.

This is how you do a female lead correctly. I'm looking at you Hollywood 😡. I was only a toddler when this was released. But I love the three Underworld movies. It's a shame they forced two abysmal sequels.

That's what Ana Forester the so-called director of Underworld Blood Wars did not seem to get. Thinking it was just Selene that made Underworld great.

I love the franchise but Underworld: Evolution is my favourite by far, just a really special place in my heart.
The visuals, story, and stakes in that movie are so high it blows the other movies away for me.
Still badass as I remember. Gosh I was just a kid. That song "Red Tape" really made the trailer perfect!

There were no special effects used to deepen Kevin Grevioux's (Raze's) voice. His natural speaking voice really is that deep.
Not only in this movie did Kate Beckinsale meet her future husband, director Len Wiseman, but at the time she was in a long term relationship with actor Michael Sheen, who played Lucian. Michael and Kate share a daughter together who appears in the film during a flashback of when Selene was younger. Michael and Len have since become very close friends and have collaborated with each other on Underworld: Rise of the Lycans (2009). Michael and Kate still remain very close and both are raising their daughter equally. Kate has stated that Michael is her best friend and that they still remain very close.
Scott Speedman suffered a concussion when a set prop that was supposed to be a piece of the wall Viktor had just thrown him through hit him in the head.
Kate Beckinsale first met husband Len Wiseman on the set.
According to actor Kevin Grevioux, the model for the Selene character was the psychic vampire of the Hellfire Club in the X-Men comics, the Black Queen Selene.
This movie marked Len Wiseman's feature film directorial debut.
Halle Berry, Milla Jovovich and Rhona Mitra were considered for the lead role.
Kate Beckinsale's character Selene is not seen speaking until roughly 12 minutes into the film, however her narration starts almost as soon as the movie does.

Michael Sheen plays a Lycan (aka) a werewolf who dislikes vampires because of the war in which his vampire girlfriend was killed. In a later movie however he plays a vampire who hates werewolves in the Twilight Saga.
Selene is a Greek name. Seleneophile is a name for someone who loves the moon and Selene is the Greek name for the Goddess of the Moon.

The last 2 made are admitidly not very good. But if youre a big fan you will get some fun out of it. Just dont expect anything the quality of the first 2

But there's much more to it than that. When people watch it they are surprised. Heck I was one of them.
My dad bought the Trilogy on DVD. I didn't think too much of it. But I watched with him. I was completely blown away.
Now the first 2 Underworld movies are 2 of my favourite movies of all time.
But the trailers for Awakening and Blood Wars just gave away the big twists in the trailer and ruining it for the audience.
I saw this movie when I was like 12.
