    bro. you are a genius. With basic tools you have built real and practical weapons. Good for you. Thanks for sharing and motivating. Greetings from Venezuela

    I think a machete would been better tool for that pineapple. But you did a awesome job on that baton.

    Cool project. Iv been looking at some tonfa handle designs for a cane. Im thinking steel pipe would be best for the strength however it's not good for restriction environments so I need to make a wooden one with a strong enough connection to support weight. Any ideas. Is that why you used a nail instead of a peg?

    • @john_free_thinker
      @john_free_thinker  2 года назад +3

      Thank you. A hard wood peg will work just fine, but I think a metal nail or peg will be stronger than any wood. That is why I used a longer thicker nail for that. Also make sure it is glues and clamped down for additional strength. Good luck with your project, I hope this helps 👍

    Good job man. If you decide to do another one try doing an old school straight shaft baton. But try using a replacement shovel handle from the box store. Cut to size drill a hole and put a leather boot lace threw it and learn how to spin it like a 70s NYC cop.

    Hey man, I've been making my own builds for a few years now and just recently came across your channel. I've noticed that you utilize a lot of simple but effective techniques. I've also drawn inspiration from a few of your videos. I noticed you use wood glue and wooden pins or dows for a lot of builds, do you find those to be as sturdy as bolts and epoxy? Anyways keep up the great work I'm excited to see what comes out next. 👍🏻

    • @john_free_thinker
      @john_free_thinker  2 года назад

      Thank you very much. My builds hold up even when I go all out on them on testing, the testing parts speak for themselves. So yes, they do hold up for such a simple way of building and even hold up fairly well compared to professional builds.

    Cute toy, but attaching the handle like that ensures the item will break after a couple strikes.

    • @john_free_thinker
      @john_free_thinker  9 месяцев назад

      In the testing part it did not break or even became weaker, it still holds up strong. Maybe one day it will break, but I don't think it will easily.

    Good video... well, up until you started breaking thin pieces of 'ice?!?'.. if you actually hit a person while using that handle, err it would bend. Better off just making a hardwood baton..bring on the smashing heads 👍😎.. Still, thanks for the video

      Thank you very much, glade you like it. But the handle is all held together with I think 3,000 lbs. wood glue and a thicker hard long metal nail. I think it would be as strong as a regular one. Either way, glad you commented 👍
